Henseid Skole, vacation in a school !!! Going to school was never so much fun!
The Henseid Skole is a former elementary school built in the year 1951.
It lies in the small hamlet Henseid or Henneseid. This falls under the municipality
Drangedal in the county of Telemark. The Henseid Skole did the last service in
the year 2005, then it was empty and there was lack of maintenance. What was
in contrast with the beautiful surroundings of Henseid. In the spring of 2011, the
school opened its doors, completely renovated. But for tourists who are looking for

The surroundings of Henseid is perhaps one of the finest in Telemark. Here you will find everything you would expect from southern Norway. Beautiful panoramic views, vast forests with many hiking trails. Here grow in the summer many kinds of edible berries. Henseid is surrounded by many lakes and is approximately 30 km from the sea, ideal places to fish (freshwater and saltwater), or to swim.

An average summer is here with great weather, blue skies, lots of sunny hours, little to no wind
and rain.
An average winter here with lots of nice weather, blue skies and snow. Great ski area, under the Henseid Skole begins the cross-country journey of Henseida beautiful cross-country track and is illuminated at night. The ski slopes are about half hour drive.
Wildlife in Henseid. It is this unique area in the early morning watching beavers in the lakes or in the (old) beaver dams. Naturally live in the woods elk (moose). In an early morning or evening walk in the forest near the lake Henseid, makes you a good chance to spot them. Other animals that can be spotted here are especially badgers, foxes, deer, squirrels, woodpeckers and small (harmless) snakes.
Outside the school is much (play) area with swings, trampoline, sandpit and playhouse with slide, football field and cycling. Inside the school there is an recreationroom with table soccer and airhockey game and many other games. On arrival, a delicious Norwegian delicacy. We regularly organize an extensive barbecue while enjoying a homemade red wine. Or a fire with marshmallows for the kids. For lovers we also make beautiful hikes through the nature of Henseid (always successfully!)
In Henseid find peace. But .. about 30 km lies the whole cozy spa Kragerø. At the coast of Kragerø are more than a hundred islands. You can go with several small ferries or with a rented boat self to an uninhabited island sail for instance sunbathing.At 40 km you will find the bigger cities Skien and
Porsgrunn, where you can go shopping or visit the Porcelain Factories and for children thereis the'Eventyr-FABRIKKEN", a gigantic indoor playground. Also there is in Skien a tropical pool. And Guests can follow the route of the Telemark Canal, the famous canal with 18 locks. Whether a piece with the old steamer sail. For the children there in Bø Sommerland a large water slides and swimming paradise.
Culture: Very special are the very old Stave churches from ancient Viking times of Norway. Or visita real Viking ship ( not a replica) !!!
At 12 km. distance is the small town Drangedal. Here you can find a small fee canoes and the Toke Lake
to explore. Drangedal has 3 supermarkets.

Unieke locatie gelegen in een prachtige omgeving! Op 10 minuten rijden bevinden zich supermarkten en er is genoeg natuurschoon in de directe omgeving. Voor langere wandelingen eerst ongeveer 45 minuten rijden. Om leuk te winkelen moet u een uur rijden. De eigenaar kan u ook de route voor een prachtige autorit met veel Noorse bezienswaardigheden aanbevelen.
De verhuurders doen er alles aan om het de gasten naar het zin te maken. Hij treed bijvoorbeeld als gids op om je het hoogste punt van de omgeving te laten zien. Zij is gastvrij en haar kook kunsten vallen goed in de smaak.
In principe is alles mogelijk in goed overleg. Je voelt je er 'thuis'. -

Een oude basisschool omgebouwd tot 3 prachtige appartementen. Alles nog in oude schoolstijl inclusief schoolborden. Echt heel smaakvol ingericht met ruimte genoeg voor het hele gezin! Wij hebben al heel wat appartementen geboekt de afgelopen jaren maar dit was veruit de mooiste in een geweldige regio van Noorwegen.
De familie doet er alles aan om je thuis te laten voelen en geeft veel tips over de omgeving inclusief een gezamenlijke barbeque met alle gasten die er op dat moment waren, top! -

You are in a old Norwegian School which is very nice. Rooms are big.
The surrounding are very nice. The walk besides the lake is beautiful.
We really enjoyed the relaxed cozy atmosfere and the kids liked the playroom.
Recommandable!
