Columbus, WiWould not change a thing!
Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012
My husband and our 2 children (5 1/2 & 2 1/2) stayed for a week in the Homestead house and none of us wanted to leave! It was perfect!! I could not get over how clean the house was, the kids loved the bunk beds. So quiet, no neighbors, clean lake, small wading beach & park for the kids just a quick boat ride away. we had a campfire every night. Around 10pm the flying squirrals would come out, very cool! Good fishing. When they say fully stocked kitchen they mean it! We would love to go back!! We had everything we needed. Would not change a thing!

MinnesotaVery Good for an older "traditional" cabin.
Left on 06/12/2012 for a stay in June 2012
Just returned on 6/3 from a nice weedend stay at the hh. Because this appears to be the first review, I will go into a little more detail than I normally would. This cabin is conveniently located less than a mile from town. Even though it is right off the road, there is a large, fairly open yard that is surrounded by many trees which makes the back yard quite secluded. This cabin is at the end of the lake and I don't recall seeing any neighbors on either side. Which reminds me, a huge plus for this property is that they allow pets for a fee! Our dogs loved it.
This cabin looks a little newer on the outside due to the new siding but the interior and it's furnishing are older and dated but clean, which we fully expected because the managing company's website has a great virtual tour. You will clearly see that it is an older, more rustic place and you should not go there expecting a fancy 5 star cabin. They have however done some painting inside so it is even a litte better than the current virtual tour shows.
We really enjoyed the nice big deck. The major downside though is that you can't see the lake or dock from the cabin or deck, at least when the trees are in full foliage. Not only could you not see the beauty of the water but for safety purposes, I didn't like not being able to see the dock. The path from the yard to the dock is a litte steep but not bad. When we were there the lake level was Extremely high due to recent storms so there was no beach area and the water was about 4" from going over the dock making it a bit precarious. The road to the boat launch is not marked and we were not alerted to that. I believe it was the first right past the cabin. We were able to catch a variety of fish including bass, crappies, sunfish & perch.
I liked the kitchen because there was a nice big table and it had a couple of different working areas. It was well stocked with dishes, pans, etc. The living room had plenty of seating and a small TV. The bathroom was small but not bad considering this was an older cabin. It had a small corner shower but no tub. The bedroom arrangements were a little different but worked fine for us. The bunk room is right off of the living room and there is no door, just a curtain that pulls shut. We utilized 3 of the bunks and all the beds were very comfortable. To get to the other bedroom, you have to enter it through the bunk room or from outside. The bunk room is the only room that had an air conditioner. If you left the other bedroom door open and the curtain open, it was able to keep them and the living room cool but it was not an extremly warm weekend.
I would definitely go back and I would definitey recommend it to those who are looking for a "traditional" cabin but not to someone who is looking to rent a new fancy, lodge type place with every amenity.
