Description from the owner
On the outskirts of Drymen, situated in the heart of leafy Buchanan Castle Estate, Strathendrick House is a substantial 4 bedroom cottage. Simple yet sophisticated, old but modern, it really is a haven of peace and tranquillity. The house offers a vast garden with private access to the river. Dominated by an enormous fir, and surrounded by mature trees and an orchard, we ensure utter seclusion and privacy.
The village of Drymen is charming. Local amenities include several fine pubs all serving traditional hot and cold food, a supermarket, a bank, a local butcher, a gallery and gift shop, and a well stocked library for books, CD’s and...Read more

Additional Location Information
Strathendrick House lies deep in the Buchanan Castle Estate, once owned by the Duke of Montrose. The house is completely secluded and surrounded by it's own private garden, orchard and ringed by a tributary of Endrick River. However, being secluded does not mean cut off. The charming village of Drymen is approx 5 minutes walk through local woodland, and offers all the amenities on would expect from a working village. Pubs, restaurants and a local shop. Loch Lomond is all but 5 mins in the car with Ben Lomond and a multitude of other mountains and hills within easy reach. Cyling and walking are very popular in the area. The West Highland Way is literally at the other side of the village square. Stirling and Glasgow are both 19 miles (approx. 25kms)

LondonStunning House, fab location, ideal for exploring Loch Lomond
Left on 01/15/2013 for a stay in November 2012
We had a wonderful holiday, everything was perfect for our family. Strathendrick House is absolutely stunning and was very comfortable for the 8 of us and our little dog. A welcome pack awaited us which was a lovely unexpected surprise, there is nothing better than a good cup of tea after a long journey :) I fell in love with the garden and would sit often looking out of the window in awe of the deer that frequently visited. The house is in a great location, ideal for exploring Loch Lomond. I would recommend a visit to Rowardennan for a breathtaking walk up Ben Lomond and a shopping trip to Balloch for some great bargains. The kids loved The Sea Life Centre which is situated at The Lomond Shores in Balloch. Another must is a visit to the Leisure Centre at the Best Western Hotel in Drymen, we purchased a day pass and made full use of the spa facilities whilst the kids enjoyed the swimming pool. All in all a great holiday, the weather certainly did not stop us having fun and we will definitely be returning next year.
