New Bern, North CarolinaWonderful Dublin apartment
Left on 05/19/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Our apartment was just as described. Everything we needed was supplied for us. The apartment was clean and well maintained. At first we thought it was a bit far from all the "action", but with groceries downstairs, restaurants and a bus stop conveniently outside we found we could get anything and anywhere we desired. This is a lovely apartment and found that John and Cheryl were exceptionally easy to deal with. We would like to mention that this is an area for younger people because a university is nearby. We almost got hit by a water balloon thrown by a couple of girls at one time, but we took it in stride and tried to remember what it was like to be young and full of fun. We would recommend this apartment for anyone who would like to have a good and relaxing time in Dublin.

Volveremos!

Left on 02/04/2013 for a stay in January 2013
The three of us (all at the age around 50) stayed at the apartment for 5 nights in January 2013. Cheryl and Johnny answered all our email questions within hours and are absolutely reliable. We found everything exactly as described and pictured on the website. All very clean, well maintained and stocked with everything you could possibly need. With adjustable under floor heating in every room, it's comfy in winter time, too (doesn't go without saying in Ireland!). There are some comments about the noise in other reviews, but considering the central location, we still think it's rather quiet. For visitors using public transport this place is perfect: Airlink Express Bus from the airport stops around the corner (closest stop coming from the airport is "International Services Center" and to the airport it's "Jurys Inn"), the Luas tram stop is just in front of the building and O'Connell train station and the main bus station Busaras are max. 10 minutes walk from the apartment.
We will definitely stay here again when in Dublin and recommend it to all independent travellers who are looking for a home away from home.
Thanks again Cheryl and Johnny!

Stuttgart, GermanyFamily Friendly apartment in Dublin
Left on 01/15/2013 for a stay in December 2012
The apartment was safe and clean. I recommend it. We would stay there again. Cheryl Cooper was easy to work with and answered any questions we had.
We stayed in Dublin from Dec 27- Jan 2 in Cheryl's apartment located in the Financial District. It was very easy to reach the apartment from the airport, 15 or 20 minutes by bus stop 3 I believe.
We were traveling as a multigenerational family, grandparents, kids 6 & 8, and us and the apartment fit us fine. The kids slept on the pull out sofa in the living room. The neighborhood was quiet enough at night. The apartment had everything we needed to cook dinners and the Marc & Spencers grocery was just a few steps from the front door. If M & S didn't have what we were looking for the Spar convience store did. The only problem was having enough hot water for showers, but if we staggered them we were fine.
Location is fabulous. It was an easy 15 min to walk to the Temple Bar area on New Year's or to catch our tour on the Paddy Wagon. When the kids were tired we hopped on the Luas (light rail).
We enjoyed our time there, even with places closed for the holidays. -

USANice Stay
Left on 01/07/2013 for a stay in November 2012
My husband and I stayed here with our then 11-month old son on our first international trip with him and we were quite happy with our choice! The apartment was very modern feeling and fully carpeted (with the exception of a small area around the kitchen), which was great for our just-learning-to-walk baby. Cheryl was kind enough to make up both beds since we weren't sure which one we'd like to keep our baby in until we arrived, and she provided a Pack 'N Play travel crib with fitted sheet, which was great, because the sheet we brought was actually too large. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and other foodstuffs, too. The apartment had a lot of windows which allowed for a lot of light but at the same time, being right next to the university, we ended up keeping the blinds shut most of the time as it felt like the students could peer right into the apartment during their classes. Also, being so close to the ground floor, it was quite noisy when classes would let out or in the evening when groups of kids were going out for the evening, but these noises were fleeting. Our only complaints were 1 - there was very little toilet paper in both bathrooms upon our arrival and we didn't find any in the apartment to restock so we had to go out and buy more and 2 - when we returned to the car park to find someone else parked in the parking spot that "comes with the apartment," we were dismayed to learn from Johnny that really the only resolution was to park in one of the Clarion spots. We would have preferred if there was a number Johnny could have called to have the car towed or removed, as our car was a rental itself and we didn't want to have to deal with it being towed out of the Clarion spot we took. Alas, we lucked out and our car was fine.
All in all, a great location, good price, well kept, clean, comfy apartment. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit! Thank you to Cheryl and Johnny! -

Apartment was very comfortable and nicely furnished.
Previous reviewers have complained of noise from the supermarket downstairs. This was only a problem for me on Monday morning when they seemed to get a large delivery. I am an early riser... so for some the noised might be a factor.
Very safe area, close to Trinity and not too far from Temple Bar. -

Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Response from Cheryl Cooper - 11/21/2012

I am delighted that you found the apartment exactly as described and enjoyed your time while there. I am disappointed that you had any issues during your stay and unfortunately both of them were outside my control. The keys were sent by registered post the day after you confirmed your booking. I understand that you were nervous that they may not arrive on time (even though they did) but even if they had not I would have met you at the apartment or airport with another set. Regarding your second issue, it clearly states on the booking form that check in is after 3pm and the clients that were arriving on the day you were leaving had been explicitly told not to arrive early. Unfortunately it appears they did not heed this instruction. As I have said I am sorry that you had any issues during your stay. However I do think that the star rating you have given us is disproportionate to the nature of the complaints, especially as they were outside of our control. I would appreciate it if you would reconsider your score and do hope that you may return to us again in the future.

more than an apartment for rent, we felt like home. first it was easy to find, the indications received were perfect, we enjoyed the car park and the supermarkets nearby. It was complete in every detail, perfectly clean and tidy. Although it may seem out of the center of Dublin but O Connel street is only 15 minutes walk and 20 minutes from Temple Bar. that is, a unique experience, we will be back of course.

Left on 10/08/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed here for one week with our 18 month old. The flat was beautifully decorated and contained everything we needed for the week, including store cupboard items for cooking, teatowels and teabags, and even biscuits and jams in the fridge. Wifi was reliable and fast. A travel cot and highchair was provided. The flat is in an excellent location for visiting the city, and a car parking space available. The M&S; and cashpoint directly under the entrance to the flat meant we had no issues getting items we needed for the day or evening. Most enjoyable stay.

We stayed here with another couple for 2 weeks last month (Aug) and had a wonderful time. There was plenty of room and pretty much everything we needed. Others commented on the noise - yes, there is some noise at night but, it's because the location is so wonderful and central. Not to mention close to many transportation options which worked out well since we did not have a car. I noticed the noise the most as I adjusted to the time change from the us, after I adjusted did not really notice it.
I would stay here again.Response from Cheryl Cooper - 11/07/2012

Had a one week stay at the apartment with family and friends. A total of 5 people and we all enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Ideally located downtown, about a 10 minute walk to the O'Connell St. and Temple Bar area and the immediate area provided a good selection of restaurants and pubs.
The apartment itself was clean and comfortable and directions to the unit were accurate and percise. There is a Marks and Spencer located directly below that offered prepared meals that allowed us to bypass the costs of restaurants some nights and there was a grocery store just around the corner for other requirements. If we were so inclined, the facilities in the apartment were available to cook our meals.
The apartment was on the 2nd floor and had a nice outside terrace to sit or even have a meal.
I had spoken to the owner Cheryl on a couple of occasions prior to arrival and she was easy to get a hold of, responded promptly and was very accommodating. -

A great place to stay while in Dublin, a perfect base. A very clean, modern and well equipped apartment very close to the centre of everything in Dublin. Supermarkets and tram right nearby (both can make some noise but what travellers don't have ear plugs). Pictures on the site are true to the apartment. The owners were very responsive and helpful.

It is a comfortable and peaceful ... has all the means and access to walk and function in the City of Dublin ... was my first time in the company of several friends and despite not knowing the city, from here we learned to know the ways and means of communication. Located in a landmark and is easily reached from the airport through buses that pass across the front of the place. From Venezuela we are satisfied with the service and security. Thanks for everything Lady Cheryl, for being outstanding at any time from us. A big hug.

we had a very pleasant stay in this beautiful apartment. All the descriptions on the website were more than accurate. Apartment was very clean and well maintained. Very good and pleasant customer service by the owner, no problems at all with the check in/out. The location is perfect for visiting Dublin. it even has a parking lot if you travel by car.Mind though, the apartment is in a city, so don`t expect rural tranquility in the morning. But it is quiet enough till 8.am and we all slept very well. The spacious terrace is a wonderful extra for breakfast in the sunshine( we were that lucky!)
We certainly recommend this apartment to anyone
Thank you again Cheryl!

Germanyperfekt ausgestattete gemütliche Wohnung
Left on 06/16/2012 for a stay in June 2012

The apartment was perfect. It was everything as owners described it. The location was perfect in my opinion. It was an easy tram ride to City Center or anywhere else. There are plenty of eateries right out your front door, and if you are longing for a little US food, there is a Subway's just around the corner.
As far as cigarette smoke, there was not a hint of it. I am highly alergic to cigarette smoke and would know .Response from Cheryl Cooper - 06/15/2012

This place was great! Great location, clean, and looks just like the pictures. And the 747 bus from the airport drops you off right near the flat. Perfect! Cheryl was great with communication from booking though our entire stay. I will say that I thought the complaints about the morning noise from Marks & Spencer would be overstated, but they're not. It is loud. I would not recommend this place if you plan on sleeping past 8:30am (even with earplugs). Luckily for us, we wanted to get out and sight-see, so it wasn't a problem. I would definitely stay here again!

Recently spent a week at this location with my fiancée, another couple and a friend and we could not have been more pleased with our stay! Cheryl and her husband where extremely nice and easy to deal with as well as very helpful with any questions we had. This was my 5th extended visit to Dublin and this was by far my favorite place I have stayed. Very modern, great kitchen, two very large bathrooms with loads of hot water (something I found in short supply in other flats I have stayed at) and the location was absolutely perfect! There are loads of shops and eateries in the immediate area. The Luas line was directly outside the flat with trams leaving every 5 to 10 minutes into City Centre or just a short 15 minute walk along the Liffey if you felt like stretching your legs. In regards to some of the reviews below, we are all non-smokers and didn't pick up any cigarette smell at all! The college and subsequent college students across the way were no bother whatsoever! In regards to the noise...there was some noise from the grocery store below when unloading goods, but nothing obscene and if you are going to stay in the city I'm afraid you will almost definitely be staying above a store or a pub, etc. with similar noise. Overall we really could not have expected anything better for our stay and I look very forward to staying here again for my next trip to Dublin.

My family and I stayed at Cheryl and Johnnie's aparment april 4-9. The location is great- right by the Luas- walkable to Connoly st,Temple Bar- Trinity and the bus station. It was very clean and nice- well furnished - and Cheryl has alot of spices etc and well equipped kitchen for cooking. M&S; is in the building so shopping is easy and convenient. Cheryl and Johnnie were very helpful and nice. Location is a little noisy in the morning when M&S; gets deliveries but we were up early and we are from NYC so urban noise doesn't bother us.
I would definitely recommend it and would return there myself if I am lucky enough to get back to Dublin.

Left on 04/24/2012 for a stay in April 2012
This apartment was clean, comfortable and secure on the first floor of a security-access building. The kitchen and livingroom were well-stocked, with instruction manuals making it easy to use the appliances and equipment. Lots of maps and travel brochures. Having an outdoor patio and two bathrooms were both real bonuses. Having a Marks and Spencer right downstairs is a bonus and a pain: they unpack the stock for hours in the morning and it's noisy. The mattresses weren't fantastic, but they were ok. It was a little further to walk into town than we planned but it gave us the opportunity to walk off dinner! The owners were fantastic. Their communication was excellent and they were very patient with me when I made a mistake with transferring the payment.

Bozeman MTVery Noisy, smells like smoke
Left on 04/13/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We've had good luck renting flats recommended by Tripadvisor in the past, and thus were disappointed when we arrived at this one. We rented it as it is near the Convention Center, which is it's main redeeming quality. Our first clue that it was not what we expected was the 10 ft wire fence and gate that is the entry way. Once we navigated getting in, there is a ghetto like courtyard filled with trash. Once in the flat itself, we we knocked over by the smell of cigarette smoke in the front bedroom. We are all non-smoker, so probably sensitive to it, but it only started to dissipate after 5 days of airing it out, candles etc. Expect noise! It's right across from a campus, so loud students at 4 in the morning. Most of all, though is the noise from the Marks&Spencer; downstairs! Can't block out the carts with earplugs!
It certainly won't sleep 6. On the plus side, the kitchen was nice and the internet fast. Not a luxury flat, but serviceable.Response from Cheryl Cooper - 04/21/2012
Owner
I am extremely upset by this damning review. I will address this as much as I can. There is a metal entrance gate with a swipe & video phone entry. There is no navigation needed as all one needs to do is swipe the entry card & walk in. Ghetto like courtyard is simply untrue. If there was garbage there, it was left by the janitor ready for collection. Usually this is left in the basement where the vehicle then collects.
I cleaned after the previos guest & he had left a cigar residue. I aired the apartment as much as I could. There is no smell of smoke now.
The college opposite is small & there is no 'Campus' as such. As in, there are no sleeping rooms, on-site shops etc. The students only come out for lunch & are not there in the evening. There is noise from the delivery trollies at M&S.Our past guests have enjoyed their stay & their reviews reflect this.

Left on 03/28/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Cheryl was great, she met us at the airport with keys and was very responsive when we had trouble with the hot water heater. The location was good, not too far of a walk down to temple bar area but far enough away so it wasn't noisy at night. It was however noisy in the morning with delivery men yelling and unloading trucks for the grocery downstairs. That being said having the grocery store that close was great, they have a great selection of snacks/sandwiches.
The apartment was very well equipped--kitchen utensils, games, towels, etc... The only thing I can think of that may be nice to add is some shampoo/conditioner/soap for guests.
I would definitely recommend this place for a group of 4 and not 6. The pull out bed was not comfortable and it gets a little crowded with 2 people in the living room with their bags. We opted for 6 because we thought it would save us money, instead the price was raised by 50 Euros per night per extra person. In my opinion it was way too high since we ended up having to pay more per couple to be crammed in!
I would stay again, just not with as many people!Response from Cheryl Cooper - 04/16/2012

Our apartment is an adequate size for 6 people. We advertise our sofa-bed for the 5th & 6th guests & there is enough wardrobe space for 6 people.
Our apartment represents great value for money especially for larger groups.
We endeavour to please our guests and make their stay as comfortable & pleasant as possible.
Since this review, I have changed the mattress & mechanism on the sofa bed (Apr 12). -

Well situated in new financial district of Dublin and containing everything you need.
Easy to find as its situated at port end of toll tunnel into Dublin. If your driving very handy designated free parking with good security. Close to bridge accross the Liffey and short walk into city centre there is also the light train almost outside the front door.
No bars close by but plenty of places to eat or get supplies such as Spar shop.
Situated directly above a M&S; food store and with at least 9 restaurants within 200 yards you were spoilt for choice food wise.
Drawback? There was delivery to M&S; shop each morning at 8 am which lasted an hour and could be quite noisey but not a problem if your early riser or using as a bae for work.
Security at apartment was excellent -

We loved our stay in Dublin, and this condo is centrally located to get to all the exciting things to do in Dublin. We're a walking bunch, but the tram is just outside the door, for those who would rather transport to the sites and pubs. The building is just off the River Liffey, and we were in the temple bar district after a ten minute walk! Plenty of great local pubs and dining all around-there was even an Octoberfest celebration going on the week we were there, so my 18 & 22 year old nephews had a touch of Munich with their Irish vacation! The apt is beautifully laid out and very modern with a great deck and a huge table outside that we enjoyed on several evenings sipping wine and watching the Dubliners leaving work and catching trams home after buying food at the Marks & Spencer just below the building. Lots of maps & info regarding things to do in the area...and the apartment is generously furnished with towels/linens/and plenty of extra blankets and pillows if needed. We had unusually warm weather during our stay, so the blankets weren't needed...and we have to mention the water pressure...even though it seems like a trivial matter, it was great to have a nice hot shower with strong pressure in the morning, or after a long day hiking in the park or shopping on Grafton. Just one of the many little details that made us feel right at home on The Quay. Thanks to Cheryl and John for their hospitality! We enjoyed our visit and will hopefully be able to return and take advantage of your wonderful condo in the future.

This was such a perfect choice for our Dublin trip, it really did live up to our expectations! Great location, convenient Luas stop right outside the door, however, we did walk most of the time. We had great weather nearly the entire time and we got to take advantage of the balcony. Great owners, Cheryl was quick to answer any questions we had and directions there were easy to follow. Having read about the noise in previous reviews we brought ear plugs just in case and slept with the windows open without any issues. Overall we had a great time and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great, clean, safe place to stay in Dublin!

We had three couples sharing this accommodation. We found it to be very clean and other than the sofa bed, very comfortable. The amenities provided are thoughtful and ensure an enjoyable experience. The location in Dublin is excellent. We had easy access to the Luas transport system, supermarkets and restaurants, if we didn't feel like cooking. Although the kitchen was very well appointed. Sightseeing was easy from this location as we could take the Luas or walk and as we had a rental car it was good to have secure parking. The only negative thing about location was the extra noise at the weekend. The other nights of the week were very quiet.
Organising our stay with the owners was extremely easy and efficient. They responded to enquiries promptly and provided very helpful information on both the accommodation and surrounding location (eg. how to get there). They were very supportive.Response from Cheryl Cooper - 10/05/2011

we stayed at the apartment for a celebration and to see Take That. The apartment was gorgeous with all the mod cons.
It was in ideal location, short walk into Dublin in the day, reasonable taxi ride at nighttime. Ideal location next to the metro, river liffey, small marks and spencers underneath apartment was also handy.
The owner was great to deal with, and the apartment was very reasonable. Would definitely return if found myself going to dublin again.

Stayed in apt for July 4th week and absolutely loved it! It was spotless and had everything we needed..It was close to everything we needed for our Dublin trip. C&J; were very helpful with directions, and even suggested some sites we might like to see(which we did). The Marks and Spencer store below was an added plus..Overall I would rate this apt a a+++, and will Definately be back, and suggest it to anyone I know going to Ireland.
Thank You Cheryl and Johnny

The apartment was very well appointed. It was in a good location and the city rail was just steps outside the door making getting into the heart of Dublin very easy and quick.
I only have one negative comment which was beyond the owner's control. Noise. The apartment is above a grocery store and early morning deliveries are disruptive to sleeping past 4am. The courtyard was noisy from bedtime until 2am. -

From the moment I enquired into this apartment to the moment we dropped the keys in the letterbox and drove away, it has been nothing short of sensational. This is an extremely clean, well stocked, well located and warm apartment. We had 5 adults and stayed for 8 nights and felt like we hadn't left home. Everything we needed was in the apartment and if it wasn't, there was a supermarket across the road or Marks and Spencer food just below. I would look no further in staying here again and hope to go back to Dublin sometime soon.

New York CityGood Location; Very Noisy

This unit is very clean and well located. Like other reviews, I found it very noisy. The deliveries to Marks and Spencer early morning were extremely bothersome, and the college across the courtyard added to very loud late night noise. Cheryl was very accomodating and easy to deal with. The beds are not king-size. I rent an ap't because I like to stay out for the day and come back and cook a simple meal at home. The kitchen utensils are poor quality which makes cooking difficult. i took this ap't because I am returning with my sister and her husband in the fall. When I mentioned the noise factor my sister was definitely not interested.

I am so sorry to hear of your disappointment but I'd like to comment on a few of your issues.
Our beds are Kingsize. They may not match the American size of beds.
I have a huge array of kitchen utensils from the usual right up to a pizza cutter & wine pourer. There's even a cheese board & knife.
It is not a gourmet kitchen owned by Heston Blumenthal.
Regarding the noise, our apartment is right in the city so it can get noisy. -

We stayed in this superb appartement for 5 days and were delighted: The interior is furnished in a very modern and cosy style. Everything you could need was there (even more) and the location is absolutely awesome. A short walk (about 10 minutes) along the beautiful Liffey River, and you're in the very heart of Dublin! Receiving and retruning the key was very simple and comfortable.
Thank you again for the wonderful time we had! -

We stayed at the apartment for a week in July and we all really enjoyed our stay and we couldn't fault the apartment, it had everything we needed and more. The quality and level of equipment was excellent. We went with two teenage girls who really had a great time as it was safe to leave them explore the city by themselves they really enjoyed the PlayStation especially singstar .The location is brilliant being so close to the Luas Tram you can get into town within minutes which helped considering the showery weather. I would have no hesitation in recommending the apartment to anyone wanting quality accommodation in a great city.
