186273Lovely area/apartment with friendly owners :)
Left on 04/16/2012 for a stay in October 2011
My family and I stayed here for the best part of a week last October. I just wanted to leave a brief review to say how lovely the apartment and area was, for anyone thinking of booking a holiday in Dubrovnik.
The building itself is beautiful as is the apartment, the listed pictures are very accurate so you won't be disappointed if they appeal to you now. The property is set just back from the main road, roughly 300ft, however if you have difficulty climbing stairs it may be worth noting that there are a few flights of stone steps before you reach the apartment, and another set of stairs when you enter the building to get to the apartment (you enter through the bottom floor by the table and chairs, but the apartment you stay in is on the top floor).
The bedrooms are very spacious and the beds are large and comfortable. There is no living room, as it looks like one of the bedrooms has been converted. We didn't find this a problem as the bedrooms and kitchen are lovely, and when we were all in the apartment we would either sit in the kitchen or gather in the larger of the two bedrooms. However, I doubt you will find yourself spending too much time sitting in the apartment as the local area is so beautiful.
The only 'issue' I can think of with the apartment is that the bath/shower could do with being updated, as the bath is too small to actually lay in and in order to use the shower you have to sit in the bath, rather than stand. Only a minor gripe and something most will not be bothered about I'm sure.
Outside of the apartment, there are some lovely surrounding gardens and to the back of the building, there are park gardens with amazing sea views, and slightly further along you can see the walls of the 'old city'.
From the main road by the apartment, it is less than a 400m walk down the hill to the 'old town'. Between the apartment and the 'old town' on the hill, there is a nice bakery that we used quite a lot. Just before the gates to the old town, there are a couple of mini marts and the main bus stop, where you can buy tickets from a kiosk. The kiosk is next to the tourist information building.
If you are looking to stay in Dubrovnik this apartment is excellent (and good value) and the owners are really pleasant and helpful. Prior to the holiday we arranged for them to collect us from the airport (for about 30/40 euros I think) which is reasonable, and eliminated the stresses of directing a taxi to the apartment. -

Absolutely wonderful place. The hosts are far above hospitable and kind. We were even served fish soup and given any help we needed. They were right there. Good Internet. Absolutely perfect location, just out of the city walls in a garden with birds singing and palm trees. Felt like we were guests in the home of friends. Loved our experience and would recommend this place with confidence.

Left on 10/08/2010 for a stay in September 2010
Three of us stayed in this apartment for 3 nights in September. The most relevant thing about it is that it is an excellent location and the owners were very friendly. The flat is comfortable, we didn't use the kitchen but it was a good size. It was more expensive than we wanted as budget travellers but good value for money in the expensive city of Dubrovnik.

We stayed in the apartment for five days. Everything was in perfect condition. It's a 3 minutes walk to the historic center and 5 minutes to the sea.
The owner is a really nice guy who will celebrate your arrival with a grappa shot and all the recomendations, directions and help you need.
We really enjoyed our stay. -

Niko, did everything possible to make our stay at his villa like a home away from home. The location was ideal, just a short walk to the old town. The amenities were clean and comfortable.

Barcelona, CataloniaGreat location, quiet, a bit overpriced
Left on 04/09/2010 for a stay in August 2008
Our family stayed at the Gradac Apartment in August 2008. The Lasic family was very helpful, their English is quite good, they can arrange excursions and transfers and provide good advice on places to go and eat...and some local liquor! The apartment is on the first floor (no elevator) of a stone mansion, the owners live in the same floor and another family in the ground floor; it must be warned that this family was in conflict with the Lasics due to the use of the upper flat as a tourist apartment, which prevents guests from relaxing in the outer patio, specially if you travel with small kids who are unaware of noise limits and no-go zones.
The location of the flat is perfect, up a narrow pedestrian alley very close to the Old City (a 5' walk to the Pile Gate), very close to Park Gradac and the nearby seaside - the view form the top of the park, some steep stone stairs away from the flat, is splendid. However, if you are using a car (as we did) finding a parking place is a nightmare, so you are advised either to skip it, to relax while you negotiate the surrounding narrow, car-clogged streets, or to prepare a hefty amount of kunas to park in the nearby Hilton.
The flat is spotlessly clean, with two large bedrooms, fully furnished kitchen and a big bathroom with bathtub - no living room however, which leaves guests with no place for just sitting to read or watch TV comfortably. The overall cleanliness is in stark contrast with the more than obvious "vintage" furniture, decor and kitchen appliances. The owners provide towels and basic bathroom amenities. The TV shows only local stations, and as far as I remember no Internet facilities (wi-fi or cable connections) were available. There is no air conditioning; however the stone house is cool enough during nightime although the noise from the neighbouring houses' patios might prevent you from keeping the windows open. In summary, a good place in a terrific setting, but too overpriced given the limitations mentioned.Response from Lidia - 04/11/2010
Owner
hello Mr.. David, thanks for great review. Anyway something is changed. Now in apartment there is a washing machine, new wash basin with crystal mirror in bathroom, air-condition and wi-fi internet, and we manage to resolve a problem with new arrival neighbor's. This year also we complete renovated the kitchen so is brand new with all domestic appliances and new bed in one bedroom. Vintage wardrobe and other details' staid because we are trying to keep old Dubrovnik way of interior design.
Still is problem with parking near old town Dubrovnik but 2009 is open new garage - 3 min from the apartment and the prices for parking are from 8-12 euro daily. Best regards to your family. -

Great location - away from all the noise, but still
easy walking distance to the old town. Comfortable
accommodation and loved to eat under the vines
outside. If we can - we'll come back. The "Captain"
and his wife made us feel at home and organised some
other trips for us.
