This is the first time I booked an apartment instead of a hotel, and I would do it again in a second. Aerie apt 2 was absolutely amazing! If you're not sure whether you should book this place or a hotel, get this place!!! The views are to die for. There are 348 steps from apt 2 to the bottom entrance at Old Town (we counted)... yes, very tiring on the way up, but yes, doable, and yes definitely worth it for the views. We were greeted by the owners who brought us juice and a whole bowl of delicious mussels right after we arrived. Wonderful website, wonderful owners, and really really really wonderful views.
The airport transfers booked through Dubrovnik apartment Source were reasonably priced, convenient, and professional.
Dubrovnik travel tips:
1) Do the city walls walk around sunset -- it's way less crowded, and the sunset is beautiful to see from the walls.
2) Banje beach is nice because it's close, but St. Jakob's beach is more secluded and really beautiful if you're willing to walk ~ 20 minutes to get there
3) Some restaurants in old town have a cover charge (written in fine print on the menu)... we were unpleasantly surprised by this before we knew to look for it.
4) The cable car ride is definitely worth it, and the restaurant at the top was reasonably priced considering the phenomenal views. -

If you truly want to get a sense of Dubrovnik beyond the walled city, than you must reserve your energy for all the stairs that take you up to some of the best accommodations. Apartment Dijana was in a perfect spot to collect the lemon scented Croatian breeze and the morning sun's gold splash upon the old city. Nearly every apartment has a fabulous view, is clean, and well maintained by Dijana and her friendly brother. Only a ten minute walk to everything you need or would want.

The view from this place was incredible and we liked the owner, she is such a nice lady! The steps are worth it to get to such a nice view, the secret is to just take it easy and not try to get up so fast. We had easy access to the old city with Stradun and city walls and the nice beach that is next to the city wall, that was an incredible view when we swam there! We also took the cable car to Mt Srd that was just two streets away from our place. Dijana was very helpful, we asked a lot of questions :). I would come back here anytime!

The view from this apartment cannot be beat. It is simply fabulous! You can spend hours on the lovely covered terrace or the balcony just looking at Old Town, the sea, the cruise ships, etc. The view does come at the price of having a 10-minute walk to town or the beach. I think it was 400+ steps but the walk is intriguing and actually fun. So, it you have a reasonable level of fitness this is a great place to stay. My 3-star rating on check-in was because the apartment was hard to find. My GPS simply could not locate it. If you are coming by taxi this should not be a problem. Diane is a gracious and helpful host. On my next visit to Dubrovik, I hope to stay at Dijana aksam again which is the highest recommendation I can give. I'll arrive by taxi next time.

We loved our stay here. the views were out of this world. Sitting on the balcony in the evening with a glass of wine watching the boats was one of our favourite memories. Dijana was a lovely host. Very helpful and greeted us with a cold beer on arrival. Well needed.
