      “Heure Bleue” apartment dubrovnik

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed for a week here. This is a great apartment located close to the beach, shops and the bus stop.
We went with our kids (9 & 3). The location is close to the Lapad beach and excellent local buses to go to the old town
Isabelle and victor made the trip very comfortable.
Isabelle was very very prompt with the email giving us all the information needed.
The apartment was given to us due to a late cancellation and Isabelle also arranged an extra 2 days stay for our convenience.
Our airport transfer was all prearranged (260 kunas), driver very friendly giving us a little guided tour on the way to the apartment.
Victor received us at the apartment and gave more information and also came when we left for the airport, was very friendly and was prompt in changing the door handle to the bathroom which was loose.
The only niggle we had was the building of a new apartment block just outside out apartment with a huge crane erected for this.
this was a minor let down as it was not very noisy and did not spoil the view from the balcony a lot.
The weather was very hot during the first few days and became milder towards the end of our stay.
If you have small children do not forget the stroller as we did and found it very difficult to get around.
The nearby Kompass hotel lift was a great help for us to get to the beach and back.
It would have been better if we had more knowledge earlier of the stairs to get down to the rest of the rocky beaches in the area as we only found out towards the end of our stay.
You could walk along the beach all the way around the Lapad peninsula we also went to the beach adjacent to the Valamar president hotel and this was good.
They have a watersports centre at that hotel.
watching the sunset from the apartment or the beachfront was amazing.
Thanks to Isabelle and Victor for making the holiday very relaxing.

      Dear Karthik & Agalya,

Thank you for sharing your experience and we are delighted that you have enjoyed your stay and our services.

We would like to re-assure future guests. The new building mentionned on the other side of "Heure Bleue" will be on a lower level and it will not spoil the unique beautiful views that the "Heure Bleue" offers.

We hope you and your family will visit again in a near future

      Kindest regards,
      Isabelle and Viktor

Excellent views, great location, spacious apartment

Left on 07/30/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We really enjoyed our stay at Heure Bleue in Lapad. By far, the best thing about the apartment are the amazing views from the balcony. We enjoyed many glasses of wine on that balcony, just reading a book. It is beautiful. The views were even better than we expected. The location of the apartment is excellent. 10 minute walk from the bus stop. Getting into Dubrovnik is easy. 5 minutes to the beach and private coves along the bay. The walk along the peninsula (past Hotel Kompas) is beautiful. There are lots of private spots for swimming and relaxing. This is where we did our swimming and "beach time" in Lapad. It was quiet and there were no children around, so that was nice.

The apartment itself is modern looking and spacious. Fully stocked kitchen and appliances. Furniture, bed, and linens were extremely comfortable. Air conditioning and wifi internet always worked. A perfect place for a couple traveling or even a couple with one child or three people.

The apartment is lovely, but there were some things that were damaged from previous renters, or not cleaned properly. Bathtub and sink was not very clean. (Mold in bathtub). Bathroom door knob was broken and from being dropped several times it has damaged the bathroom floor. Kitchen cabinets had crumbs in them and could have been cleaner. Huge stains on the couch from previous renters. So in general, the apartment could have been cleaned better.

The services provided by Isabelle and Viktor were excellent and could not have been better. Booking and payment was simple. They provided us with lots of additional information about day trips outside of Dubrovnik, restaurants, and sites. We followed a lot of their travel advice and it really enhanced our trip. They were always available, if we happen to need anything. They were very helpful and professional. They organized our airport transfer and it was timely and professional as well.

      Modern, clean, great view

Left on 11/07/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Service was very good: prompt, friendly & unintrusive.

Apartment is very nice: bright, modern & clean. Sometimes photos can be deceptive, but actually, the photos here give a good idea of the apartment - if anything, they don't give a full idea of the unobstructed panorama from the balcony. Unfortunately, the TV & wireless internet weren't working at the time but that didn't matter to me & I feel sure they would have been sorted out if I'd asked (which I didn't bother).

Location is v. quiet in off-season (October). Walking distance to Lapad area & 5 mins drive to the Old City.

      Perfect honeymoon destination

Left on 10/02/2011 for a stay in August 2011

After a very busy few weeks planning our wedding, we came here for our honeymoon for some relaxation. Victor organised transport to and from the airport to make it a hassel free stay. He also gave us advice on good places to eat and day trips/places to see. The air-con in the apartment was a welcome relief as the temperatures were in the 30s. The views from the apartment were even more spectacula than on the pictures. We spent 2 weeks here and it was perfect for getting to the old town but also has restaurants and shops nearby so there was no need for a car. The only downside was that a nearby hotel held live music in the evenings which could be heard with the windows open but we preferd to keep them shut and kepp the air-con on anyway as it stopped the mosquitos getting in. An amazing apartment and definitely better than our expectations. Would stay there again.

A perfect apartment in a stunning location, highly recommended.

Left on 09/17/2011 for a stay in September 2011

From booking the apartment online, both Viktor & Isabelle were so helpful, they arranged our transfers which were seamless, Victor met us at the apartment and went through all we wanted to know including places to visit.
We had cause to contact Viktor due to a minor plumbing issue and within an hour a plumber had been and problem had been rectified. An excellent service and very reassuring.
The views from the apartment are literally stunning with amazing sunsets, it's in a quiet street overlooking Lapad bay. To the right of the apartment you can walk along the scenic trail (not to be missed) where you can grab a drink or take a dip in the adriatic to cool off along the way.
Lapad bay is ideally situated to access the Old Town of Dubrovnik, no 6 bus (takes 10 mins) leaves every 15 minutes and costs 12 Kuna. We took boat trip to Cavtat which is a 'must do' but we were glad we didn't stay there as most of the things we wanted to do were easier to access from the Old Town, Cavtat to the Old Town is 50 minutes on the boat.
Do not miss: Lokrum Island, beautiful place, War Photo Ltd Exhibition (in the Old Town)- not for the faint hearted though, Buza II for the sunsets, Cavtat, Three Island boat trip ( we we lucky enough to see dolphins!), cocktails watching the sunset on the beach at Lapad.
We had an amazing time in Croatia, the apartment is stunning along with it's location and easy access to the Old Town, you won't be disappointed!!

Well kept and nice position, but Lapad's not for everyone

Left on 08/18/2011 for a stay in August 2011

From the beginning Isabelle and Viktor were very helpful. We were met at the apartment and helped in with our luggage, then Viktor, while obviously having a busy day, was charming and helpful. Throughout the rest of our stay he was always available by phone to help with whatever queries we had.
The apartment was clean and in good condition. The photos do give a good idea of the place. The balcony, though small, is a lovely place to sit for breakfast or alternatively to watch the sun go down.
The immediate area around the apartment is quite. It is up the hill quite a way from the beach, which affords you the view, but also means a walk uphill at the end of the day. We were told of a shortcut though through the nearby multi-level hotel where you can use the lift. The hotel staff didn't mind, except for our last passage through, where the lielow I was carrying upset the concierge a bit. So just keep that in mind, if you're a keen Lielow user…
Lapad itself however was not for us. If you enjoy slumming it with the hoards of sun-crazed europeans crammed onto pebble beachs and every available horizontal waterside position, including sharp and slippery rocks like seals, then Lapad is the ticket. If not, give it a miss and head for the No. 6 bus into the old-town. It's busy and crowded as well, but in a totally different kind of way. We found excellent food and 100's of great wee shops to explore, and later we drifted up and down the narrow lanes and stairs of the old town. Three days though was enough. We had booked 7. Which, without a car to explore further afield, was 4 days too many.

Clean contemporary styled apartment with amazing views

Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Everything about this holiday went like a dream, from the initial booking right through to the departure, helped by the excellent services of Viktor & Isabelle who run Butterfly Services. The apartment was in a stunning location on the cliffs above Lapad bay, their photographs are spot-on, the views are to die for. The apartment is nicely furnished, comfortable & everything you would expect for a self-catering holiday. It's about a 10 min walk to the bus stop that takes you into Dubrovnik old town (a 10-15 min journey) but all amenities can be found down below the apartment in Lapad bay, pebble beach with all facilities, restaurants, bars, supermarket. There are a lot of steps to negotiate so probably not the best location for someone with mobility problems although can use the lift at the hotel Kompass which is only a short walk from the apartment. An amazing place to visit & nothing to find fault with at all. Viktor was very helpful in recommending places to visit, things to do, restaurants/bars to try. I would highly recommend using Butterfly Services for accommodation booking.
