Lovely studio apartment, great location for catching the airport bus, hopping on a ferry or a bus to the old town.
The hostess made our trip very memorable and made us feel quite at home. Fresh fruit, strudels and Home made pancakes for breakfast - what more could you ask for! We would be more than happy to stay next year because of her hospitality. -

It was my first visit to Croatia Dubrovnic,
I stayed this apartment 2 nights, enjoyed wonderful holiday.
When I arrived at apartments Kornelija, 18 JUL,
I was deeply impressed warm hospitality of the landlady.
The room was beautiful and sophisticated but profound traditional estate.
The floorboard and the form of the ceiling of the room was beautiful,it looks traditional things.
I hope to stay again more longer.

Nottingham, United KingdomBeautiful apartment, Wonderful, Kind Host, Excellent Location
Left on 10/27/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My boyfriend and I stayed here back in august (my greatest apologies for Kornelija and her mother for not writing this review until now).
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Kornelija's mother (whose name escapes me! I'm so sorry!) who insisted we sit outside and then presented us with grapes, watermelon and cake! What a lovely welcome :) This level of hospitality continued throughout our stay. She wasn't intrusive in the slightest though, just made us feel very at home :)
The apartment itself is small, but ideal for a couple. It's essientially one room with an en-suite, but has everything you could possibly need. If there is something missing, Kornelija's mother goes through great lengths to find it for you! We cooked dinner in a couple of nights and ate it outside in the beautiful garden by candlelight.
The location was very ideal for us. Although a half hour walk or so to the old town (and you can catch a bus from right outside for pretty cheap), the apartment is located right on the harbour - which is where all the boats leave to explore other islands (Lopud, Lokrum etc, all of which I'd thoroughly reccomend doing!) and by a supermarket (ideal for when you want to cook at home).
Overall, I'd say this apartment was great value for money, and...book it! Both my boyfriend and I would happily stay here again if we were to return to Dubrovnik, as the welcome you get is simply beyond anything you could hope to find in any hotel. -

ReykjavikWe had a wonderful stay in this charming studio
Left on 09/15/2011 for a stay in September 2011
It was a charming little place (great attention to details), that was amazingly well-organised, considering the limited space. The kitchen was equipped with everything one could possibly need (utensils, spices, olive oil and vinegar, sugar, coffee, tea, juice, etc), the bathroom had a hair-dryer, shampoo and soap, the wifi connection was fast and always working, the bed was very comfortable, air-con made the room nicely cool, and the tv had a few interesting channels :) Everything was perfectly clean. But the best was Kornelija's mum: a very welcoming, sweet lady who made our stay at this apartment really special. There were apple pies waiting for us when we arrived, another time she brought us home-made pancakes, and finally - grapes (and we only stayed there for four nights) :) I would definitely recommend this place to my friends, and I miss it already :)

Paris, FranceBest value for your buck- Wonderful Hostess
Left on 09/11/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My wife and I spent two weeks in Dubrovnik and we had an exquisite stay at the Kornelija apartments.
We had for a long time hesitated between the old town and this location.
We are so glad we decided on Kornelija: the old city is way too crowded too overwhelming too noisy...
The location is really the best it is very close to supermarkets, the food and fish market in Gruz, to the harbor...
By bus Old town is about 7 minutes,Lapad about the same and Babin Kuk about 12.
The bus stops almost right in front of the house.
what made this place unforgettable is the hostess Nike, who is one of the nicest persons we have ever met. Even though she speaks very little English, we got to understand each other.
Nikke would bring us food, little deserts she would have prepared and always had the right and kind gesture.
This makes for personalized service you don't get at a hotel and even in some B&B.
The studio had everything we wished for we cooked a lot since restaurants are so expensive in Dubrovnik and quality is below average.
Yes, it could have been bigger but it was really fine this way.
Nike provided us with beach towels, mats and even a beach umbrella.
We had one cleaning during our stay but had change of towels whenever we asked.
The only drawback of the unit was the traffic noise from the street, I had to sleep with earplugs.
But if we ever go back, we would stay with our newfound friend Nike without any hesitation.
On top of it the value is incredible.

Athens, GreeceClean accommodation in convenient location
Left on 08/19/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We stayed at Kornelija during our honeymoon in Dubrovnik. We arrived late in the evening and Kornelija was nice enough to arrange for a taxi to the apartment. The apartment was very clean but unfortunately smaller than I had hoped. With both of our suitcases open on the floor we didn't have much room to walk around. Although small, you had everything you needed - kitchen supplies, A/C, table, blow-dryer etc. Our host was Nike (mother of Kornelija) who was very nice and even though she had limited command of English, was able to communicate with us quite well! She was very sweet and even had cake, chocolates and champagne upon our arrival since it was our honeymoon.
The price is fabulous considering how close you are to everything. You are in fact in the middle of everything and the bus system is so convenient there that you really are not more than 10 minutes from anything - Old town, Uvala Lapad, Copacabana, Banje Beach etc. The walk to the old town is quite nice and takes about 25 minutes.
The only thing I would want (other than a bigger room) is for the room to be cleaned more often. -

Birmingham, UKLovely apartment, friendly owner
Left on 08/02/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We received a lovely welcome by Mrs Nike even though we arrived late at night. The apartment is well set out, very clean and with thoughtful little touches. There is a very peaceful garden at the back and a new French restaurant in the front shared courtyard where the food is excellent. Mrs Nike also was there to see is off despite our early start for the airport. The location is good if you need to walk to the ferry port and/or bus station, but walking up the hills to the Old Town of Dubrovnik is ambitious to say the least. Mrs Nike told us where to catch the No.6 bus from (almost outside the apartment) to get to the Old Town, but the one drawback is how many people a Croatian bus driver can manage to squeeze onto one bus. But other than the buses, a very comfortable stay.

Keene, New HampshireA wonderful, charming apartment with a truly gracious hostess
Left on 08/02/2011 for a stay in July 2011
Our stay at apartment Kornelija in Dubrovnik was nothing short of wonderful. Mrs. Nike Buljan spoke very little English (although her adult daughter, Kornelija seemed fluent) but that didn't stop her from both understanding our requests and offering wonderful hospitality. For example, we arrived in Dubrovnik at around 9:00 p.m., very tired from an all-day bus trip from up north. Kornelija picked us up at the bus station and transported us to her mother's beautiful apartment five minutes away (right off the marina). Two delicious pieces of cake were waiting for us. On another day, a couple of perfect peaches graced our table. The apartment itself was average size for a Croatian sobe and immaculately clean with a very comfortable bed, very clean bathroom, dining table and chairs, a small refrigerator and tabletop stove. All cooking and eating utensils were there for the using. The air conditioner worked like a charm. There was a heat wave during the days we stayed there and we were always happy to return to rest in our lovely, comfortable apartment. We highly recommend this lovely place.

Excellent appartment, very clean and well located next to the main harbour, and close to the main bus station. 30 minutes walk to the old town or 5 minutes on the bus.
Nike (the owner) was very welcoming and friendly, and always willing to help.
We had a great time staying here and would definitely try to stay here again for another visit to Dubrovnik.Response from Kornelija Basica - 07/14/2011

The apartment is located in a very good location beside the bay. The old city is easily acceptable by bus. Kornelija welcomed us with a cool drink, fruit, and strudal.
The apartment had everything we needed, but was rather small. The cost was most reasonable. -

My husband I stayed for 3 nights at Beautiful apartment. We had a wonderful time. The apartment is small, but comfortable and clean.Nike, the owner was absolutely fantastic and so helpful despite of the limited English she speaks. The old City is about a 10min.bus ride from the apartment, but it is so nice to walk and enjoy the scenery, that we chose the 40 min. walk mostly.I can recommend the apartment strongly

LondonA gem
Left on 05/31/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Excellent accommodation - comfortable, clean and well planned with a lot of attractive features including good kitchen facilities, generous storage space and a fine modern shower room. The owners do everything they can to make you feel welcome and to help you enjoy your stay. Breakfast in the beautiful shady garden is always a good start to the day.
The apartment is well located opposite the end of the main harbour in Lapad. Frequent buses cover the short journey to the old town and boat services to the Elaphite Islands and beyond are a short walk away. Also within walking distance is a good selection of local restaurants generally offering better service and value for money than those in and around the old town.
Come soon and book early, before too many other people discover this gem! -

Left on 04/27/2011 for a stay in April 2011
I highly recommend this apartment! It is very clean, very comfortable with a nice bathroom, little kitchenette, and access to a nice terrace/garden in the back. We stayed in a few apartments while traveling Croatia and this was by far the best deal and most comfortable apartment. The host was extremely welcoming and warm. The location is a short bus ride from the old town, but extremely conveniently located to the ferry and bus station if you will be traveling to small islands nearby or to another city such as Split by bus. Overall, we had a great experience at this apartment and would highly recommend it to anyone!
