I would fully recommend staying here with Niksa and Maja. They were extremely helpful with sightseeing and restaurant recommendations etc.
There were 4 guys staying there, with plenty of room. great balcony with a smashing view, 5 mins walk to the beach, 10 mins to the edge of the old town.
We would go back to this apartment for sure. -

Do not hesitate to book and stay in apartment Lukre 1 with Marija and her family. With breathtaking views of the old town, the apartment is perfectly situated - on the quieter side of the old town making for 10 minute access to this wonderful city. Just down the stairs and a few hundred meters and you are there.
More than that, Marija and her family are wonderful hosts - so kind and welcoming - and every one of her suggestions was a winner (nothing like local knowledge). -

The apartment is very pretty and clean. Location is excellent and the view is amazing. Niksa and Maja Novak are also very nice and they didn't bother us at all. She even took the time to show us where to go in the city, what to see or what to eat. Overall is was a very very pleasant stay and i would recommend it to everybody.

Dubrovnik was a big highlight of our 12-day trip to Croatia/Montenegro/Bosnia, mainly because of our lovely accomodations. The view from the balcony is stunning and the location is very convenient -- a short walk to a local market, the beach and the Old Town. Maja was welcoming and helpful during our stay. Highly recommended.

Had a great stay, owner who lives below was extremely helpful but not intrusive. Banje beach is five minutes away (unusualy for croatia its a sandy beach), the town ten minutes and the supermarket one minute, so good location to get to things, but its the view from the balcony that really makes this apartment special, perfect for an evening drink overlooking the old town. There are quite a few steps (!) to get to the apartment but we thought it well worth it for the view. We went with young children (aged one and seven) and generally the place is fine for children, importantly the balcony is secure, top bedroom probably not suitable for very young children but thats fine as they can go in the one below. Overall we had a wonderful stay here and it lived up to all expectations.

We couldn't have asked for a better location to old town, beach or a small market. It was only 5 - 7 minute's walk to the old town, but many steps back up to the neighborhood from the walled city, tho never a problem for us. The view from the balcony is everybit as stunning as the photos show. The apartment was spotlessly clean with modern shower and kitchenette. The landlady, Maja, was friendly and very helpful with what to do and where to find things. She also made phone calls and was helpful in out planning an overnight trip up to Mostar, Bosnia. The unit has aC, but we never really needed it; even tho august was hot, the ocean breezes cooled the apartment down very nicely. The aprtment is small, even tho it is 2 BR. I would recommend it for a couple or couple w/ child, but 2 adult couples could make it feel crowded. We stayed for one week and it was great, much better than a hotel.

We stayed in apartment Lukre 1 with inlaws in april, 2011. We had a very nice stay, and would definitely go again. Although in my opinion, everything in Dubrovnik is over priced, so don't think you will get any bargains here.
Regarding apartment Lukre 1, so you have a better idea of what to expect when staying here:
This is a charming small apartment with a magnificient view of old town and the sea. Furnishings are cosy, with some Swedish decorations :-) The owner, Maja, is extremely pleasant and nice, and the process from reservation (which was handled online by her son) to the check in, was smooth.
Although the apartment is a close walk to the old town, it is up a hill, which means there are plenty of stairs to climp up. Not recommended for those who have weak knees, back, or are otherwise not fond of stairs. Alternately you can walk around the street to get down, but this is quite a detour.
There are two large beds, which can comfortably sleep 4 people. There is one main bedroom, which is in a rather odd location, since the main entrance to the apartment goes through this bedroom. The other bedroom is not really a room, it's a queen sized bed on a gallery above the living room. There is no door here, so does not provide much privacy. There is a small, open set of stair leading up to this gallery, but it seems a little dangerous if you are clumbsy, or if you need to make your way to the toilet in the middle of the night. There is no hand rail.
The balcony, as I already mentioned, steals the show here, with a great view to old town and it is great place to relax after a day of sight seeing or swimming.
The apartment was spotlessly clean, although there was a bit of a funny smell coming from the sewage in the bathroom, but this was only sporradic and was not a problem.
Parking is a pain in Dubrovnik. Yes, there is a little stretch near the apartment which can fit 10 or so cars, but there is no guarantee that you will get a spot. When we parked here, we made the mistake of going for a drive outside of the city, and when we came back there was absolutely nowhere left to park. So we parked down the street where we thought we were safe, and ended up getting a parking ticket :-(
I would definitely recommend this apartment, just know what to expect, and enjoy your time in Dubrovnik! -

The apartment's owner Maja was kind enough to meet our taxi on arrival and escort us to the apartment. She then took time to describe Dubrovnik and its attractions, plus the best locations for eating out & enjoying the city. The apartment, although small, has enough room for 4 adults in one double and one twin, although the second bedroom is open, above the living room with a low ceiling so ideal for 2 kids! The apartment was located only 5 minutes from the city walls (with a climb of 100 steps to keep you fit!) however it was worth it for the amazing views from the roof terrace. The terrace gives you the opportunity to relax in the sun away from the city as you choose. We couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome from Maya (& her son) and found all of the Croatian people very friendly.

We spent four days in the beautiful town of Dubrovnik. Apartment Lukre 1, with a wonderful view from its balcony, is located within a walking distance to the Old Town and right above a beach. We were met with great hospitality, also airport transfers were arranged by the owner.

We had a very enjoyable stay at this apartment . The owner met us on arrival and gave us details of restaurants & places of interest etc which we found extremely helpful. The apartment has a lovely view of the city walls from the balcony and it was pleasant to sta.y Everything was provided for self catering and we were even given some bread and milk as the shops were closed.
Certainly recommended. -

Loved the location of Lukre 1 apartment and the view was wonderful.Could sit on the balcony all day and night and not be disappointed with the view.Very handy to everything.The only down side was the apartment needs updating, new cutlery, sheets etc.and the "second bedroom" loft is not for the faint hearted as it is virtually just a ladder up.No space or head height.Ok for older kids not adults

Beautiful view of the sea and of Dubrovnik (private), comfortable settings with air conditioning, close to everything yet quiet, a charming, friendly and helpful hostess whose recommendations always proved to be excellent. This is the perfect place to stay in Dubrovnik! The balcony is absolutely amazing - we spent most of our time taking in the view! It is a scenic, short walk into the Old City and an even shorter walk to the public beach. Maja, the very sweet owner, greeted us promptly upon our arrival and familiarized us with the location and the best spots to visit! The apartment was clean with an effecient kitchen area and bathroom. We would only stay here when we go back to Dubrovnik! It is a private, comfortable, clean, convenient and cute apartment!
