Additional Location Information
The apartments are centrally located - just 15 meters off the main street (the Stradun), in a flat part of the Old Town close to all the amenities and surrounded by Dubrovnik's rich cultural heritage.
The nearest beach, called Banje, is a 10-minute walk away from the apartment building. Pebble beaches at the bay of Bay of Lapad can be reached in 10 minutes by public transport.
The Elaphite islands and the island of Lokrum can be easily reached by ferry from the Old Harbour, which is just a short 5-minute walk away from the apartment building.
The Old Town of Dubrovnik is an excellent base from which one can take a trip to the nearby island of Lokrum (15 minutes by ferry) or go to a full-day cruise to the three Elaphite islands β Lopud, Sipan and Kolocep with a beautiful sandy beach of Sunj at Lopud.
Its many attractions include rich cultural heritage sites inside the Old Town that are UNESCO listed and there is always plenty to do whether itβs climbing the old city walls, strolling down the lively main street called the Stradun, visiting the old quarantine hospital Lazaretto, buying fresh fruits from locals at the open-air green market at Gundulic Square or taking a peak inside the Old Pharmacy from 1317, the 3rd oldest in the world and the oldest continuously functioning pharmacy in Europe that sells moisturisers and body lotions made to original recipes.
Don't miss out on having a dinner on an exact replica of the Ragusan carrack, the largest four-masted cargo ship in the Ragusan fleet also mentioned by Shakespeare in The Merchant of Venice, who referred to it as an argosy.
There are many art festivals and cultural events to attend when in Dubrovnik of which the one with the longest tradition is the Dubrovnik Summer Festival held from July to August with open-air theatre performances and concerts.
Please bear in mind that cars are not allowed inside the city walls where the apartments are located β except delivery vehicles with a special permit β as the Old Town of Dubrovnik is inscribed on the UNESCO list of protected world heritage, which makes it a pedestrian-only area. The closest that one can get to the Old Town by car, taxi or public transport is the Pile Gate, which is 5 minutes' walk away from the apartments.
Long-term parking is available in a public parking garage located at Ilijina glavica (10-minute walking distance from the apartment building) - daily/weekly/monthly charges apply (no credit cards accepted, only cash in Kuna). For directions and rates please check:

Short-term parking is available in a car park near the Pile Gate (5-minute walking distance from the apartment building) - hourly charges apply (no credit cards, only cash in Kuna). For directions please check: http://www.dubrovnikoldtown.com/categories/info/.
In case you are arriving by plane, the best way to arrive in the Old Town of Dubrovnik from the Cilipi Airport is to take a taxi and tell the driver to take you to the Pile Gate - one of the three entrances to the Old Town. You will see a taxi stand right in front of you when you exit the terminal building. In addition, you can take public transport (the Libertas Bus Company) or a shuttle.
When coming from the Gruz Harbour/ferry terminal, you can either opt for a taxi or public transport (the Libertas City Bus) in which case you ought to take either No.1, 1A, or 1B in order to get to the Pile Gate. There is a bus stop on the road in front of the ferry terminal. Tickets can be bought at a kiosk/newspaper stand or obtained from the driver. You ought to get off on the Pile (seventh) bus stop (not counting in the one you get on).
Directions:
Once you pass the outer Pile Gate - you should see a stone bridge followed by a wooden drawbridge suspended on chains above which there is a statue of Dubrovnik's patron Saint Blaise, which in turn is overtopped by a cannon's muzzle - you will have to descend two flights of stairs (if you have a lot of baggage turn left before the stairs and follow a descending stone path) and pass through another stone gate β the inner Pile Gate - that will take you to the main street (the promenade) called the Stradun.
1 Petilovrijenci Street is our street address. It is the 7th street on the left side of Stradun, and is marked by two flags easily spotted from afar.
On the ground floor of the building with the flags there is a bank - OTP Bank. Turn left at the OTP Bank and you will be in Petilovrijenci Street. The apartment building should be located to your left.
