My family has vacationed at Portside for over 20 years with the most recent years in Portside F. The only complaint we ever had with Portside F was the sofas which have now been replaced and are good looking and very comfortable (and add more sleeping space). The size of the unit is perfect for our family - only a few steps to the first floor where the main living takes place including the master bedroom. This is great for anyone with difficulty negotiating stairs. The second floor has a small efficiency kitchen as well as two bedrooms which affords another living area for extended family. The glass windows/sliding doors across the front of the unit off the living room looks over the sound and makes you feel as though you are outside even when you are inside. I would buy this unit in a minute if it were for sale!!

The rental process was easy. The location good and the permanent neighbors very friendly. Pool very nice.
The problems found were with the electric lamps. Someone had spliced extensions very poorly and they appeared to be fire hazards. Kept lamps unplugged for safety. Kitchen cupboard crowded with extra dishes, no room to put food, had to stack on floor or limited counter. The dryer had horrific sound as if belt going out. Would have been nice to have more ceiling fans to decrease use of air conditioning.
Needs a little updating. All issues could be easily fixed.
Only two towels for household of eight were supplied, had to go out and buy towels. That's the housekeeping depart ment issue. Read more
Dear First Timer,
Thank you for your review on Portside F. I'm sorry that we did not hear from you during your stay to correct these issues for you. You are right, you should have had one bath towel for every occupant, and had we known that was not the case we would have rectified that quickly. We will send someone to the property regarding the dryer that you mentioned so we can get that corrected for the next guest.
We're hopful that you had a good time at the beach and will give us a try again in the future.
All the best from the beach!

This will be our 4th year at Portside. Even though the unit itself needs a lot of updating, we love the view of Currituck sound, there is nothing like it. The sunsets are magnificent. The location of the pool is great for our kids and the beach is only 5 minutes away. And we love being close to the town of Duck. My daughter and I would ride our bikes in daily.
Wonderful home with an unbelievable view of the Sound

This was the first time we stayed at a property on the Sound. We have always stayed in Oceanfront homes.
Portside F was an absolutely beautiful place to stay. Each day seeing the beautiful and peaceful Sound with a soundfront pool that our daughter loved -- well, just say that we never made it to the beach.
It's in a secluded section in Duck with only around 10 properties. We met a few of the neighbors who were all very friendly. The condo itself was very comfortable. Loved all the extras included in the home.

We stayed in this house for a week. By the second day we were already planning our vacation for the following year inthe same place. We loved it so much, the view of the Bay is abolutely awesome. The house was perfect for our family . Everything you could possibly need is furnished in the house. It was so clean and cozy. The double decks are great for sitting outside at night and listening to the water . We agreed that we really like renting on the Bayside (sound)
better than the ocean side. The kids crabbed right outside the house and had so much fun.
This is the first time we have ever rented a vacation house, the experience was wonderful and the reality staff was so helpful. They really did find us the perfect house. We are hoping to talk our best friends into going there next year with us.
