      Wonderful Pet Friendly Condo

      This condo was very nice, the pictures do not do it justice. The TV in the living area has been replaced with a beautiful flat screen, there is a pub style table in the kitchen which can seat 6. The view was spectacular. We traveled with our 3 children (15, 14 and 9), Mother and Norwegian Elkhound. It was clean, well appointed and slept 6 comfortably. Club Seaside with wonderful and we enjoyed many of the attrations that came with it. Linens and Towels are provided. We will be back next year!!!

      Excellent Spot for a Vacation

      We had a wonderful time at this rental. We have a small family, one child, and it was perfect for all of us. The location was perfect in there was a pool close, and the beach was extremely close. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning and see such an amazing view. Upon leaving our son said, "When can we come back to the condo?" Approval from the mouth of a 9 year old.

      Wonderful!

      We loved the view and enjoyed eating on the balcony. The condo was well kept and in a great location. It was difficult climbing the stairs due to my wife's knee but overall it was well worth the effort. We enjoyed the beaches and kayaking around the sound. Hope to visit again in the future!

      Betty's Oceanside is a small but very clean rental that had a wonderful view of the pool and ocean. The trip with all our pets and bags to the third floor was exhausting but once there, it was fine. For the money, I would say this is a very good value. It was just a short walk to the beach and surf fishing!

      Great Location, But The Place Is a Little Tired.

      This was a nice little place in a great location. All I can really say is... The place we stayed in needs some major TLC. If the owners took the time, in 2 or 3 weekends this place could be a *really* nice place.

      A little fresh paint, take off the *multiple* layers of wall paper, some cabinet doors, and maybe a new stove/oven.

      And oddly enough, too much furniture of such a small place.

      So glad we went!

      We had a wonderful time! ( 'we' are my boyfriend, I and our 2 small dogs). This was our 1st time in the outer banks. Bettys Oceanside has a wonderful view from the outside balcony (just as in the pics) and the apt was just right for us! The apt is on a 3rd floor with lots of steps so be prepared if you have lots to carry or you are elderly. People were so nice and friendly. Loved drinking coffee in the morn watching the sun rise over the ocean and walking the dogs on the pet friendly beach...Then came Hurricane Earl!! A mandatory evacuation was issued and we had to leave 2 days early! I was a bit upset but what can you do? So glad I bought that insurance ;^) because I almost did not. I was thinking "now what are the chances of a mandatory evacuation from a hurricane in Duck, NC while we are there for a weeks vacation'?? sheees...that darn Earl! Other than that, we had a great time and cannot wait to go back! The 'outer banks' rocks!

      Great Vacation

      We had a great vacation at Betty's oceanside. The accomodations, although not extravagant, were perfect for our family which included 13 & 14 year olds and two small dogs. It was the right size for us and a good value for the money. The ocean view from the deck was awesome, especially since it overlooked the pool which allowed us to watch kids swim from the deck. (They are good swimmers). The site manager, Larry, was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay there again if we went to the Outer Banks. We rented bikes for the week and would visit the neat town of Duck almost daily.
      The only drawback for this rental was the 3-4 flights of steps which I personally considered great exercise. However, it was hard at times for our overweight pug (over 30 lbs.) with bad hips. We ended up carrying her up the steps several times. Duck allows dogs on the beach off leash and it was a hoot watching the dogs run around in the evenings chasing crabs.

      Great view and beach access

      Generally our stay was great, considering the view, proximity to the beach and condo furnishings. The deck railing was thoughtfully covered by screening to protect pets and small children from falling from the 3rd floor level. The decorations were cute, whimsical and beach themed. The large screen TV needs replaced, as the picture is almost too dark to see and green. Although most of the rental was clean, it was needing minor repairs and a little updating. Overall it was an average value for the area.

      What am amazing vacation! The pictures do not do the apartment justice--the view is fantastic, the porch is fantastic and roomy. The room is on the 3rd floor but that was fine with us because that meant more ice cream in evening! We had a great time cooking out; the kitchen had all the right necessities for a BBQ. We met some really great people during the cookouts, too! The beach was clean and dog friendly--which was great because we had our two dogs. We were pleasantly surprised that a dog friendly apartment had no tell-tale signs of such accommodations! All of the linens were wrapped in plastic when we arrived. Plenty of great shopping. This was our first time at the OBX so it was system overload. Highly suggest eating at the Black Pelican in Kitty Hawk and making your way to Tim Buck II 15 miles north in Corolla! We will be back! We can hardly wait to find out when our 2011 vacation dates will be!

      Betty's Oceanside is a lovely condo in a great location. It is on the third floor facing the ocean. The view is breathtaking. It was very comfortable for 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs. There is a very funny dog hating cat, Precious, who lives under the building. The only complaint we had, is that we could not check in until 6:00 PM.

      Long climb to the top

      We enjoyed are stay very much and seaside went out of their way to help us get are luggage to the top of are condo. And we appreciate it very much.
      We do have some health restrictions and would have not rented the condo if we had known it was three flights up. Next time I sure will ask what floor it is on. But never having been there before didn't really know what to expect out of the place.
      Probably won't come back anymore,because it was really hard on us to climb the stepts, to take out the dog. The place is beautiful, and we had a nice time.

      Great location but the condo needed some upgrades or serious cle

      Donna was great to work with to get the reservation.
      The home was the perfect size for us, effectively 1 bedroom and 2 baths. The
      carpeting had some serious stains in it which detracts from the experience.
      There were other areas that could use some cleaning or fixing up.
      The location was great, we had an ocean view and even had a nor'easter. It
      was close to most of the sites we wanted to visit. The appliances (stove, oven,
      refrigerator, TVs) all worked well for our purposes.
      Liked: Location Disliked: Condo condition.

      WOW!!

      We stayed at Betty's Oceanside in Duck this year. The view was phenomenal. The accomodations were wonderful. There really isn't anything I could complain about except the weather, and that cannot be controlled. And even though the weather was rainy most of the week, it was still so peaceful to sit in the living room and look at the ocean - that brings me such serenity.
      The only thing I could possibly recommend is that they put an elevator in.
      But, again, not in my control.
      So I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

      Great view and close to the ocean!

      We stayed at Betty's Oceanside the week of July 4. It was the first time we have been in a condo- all other trips to the outer banks we've rented a house With other families. It was just the two of us this time, plus our two dogs (this is a pet-friendly umit). The web site doesn't show you that it's an end unit, so it has a great view of the pool and ocean! The picture of the ocean that you see on the website is really what you get! It's also very close to the beach- just a quick walk over the dune. The unit's on the third floor. It's a great community if you're bringing a dog- lots of residential streets to walk, and dogs are allowed on the beach in Duck. Lots of shopping and restaurants right on the main road, which unfortunately is VERY busy because of this. However, this condo is at the end of a side road, so it's only bad if you need to drive out and on to the main road. Only downside was noise from the pool area at night (lots of noisy teenagers when we were there- out very late with no one to supervise and maintain quiet). The pool was also crowded with kids most of the time, but guess that's to be expected. I was also surprised at the amount of stains on the carpet, especially when paying a security deposit as well as an additional $125 pet fee. I would think they'd use those additional charges to clean the carpet. The interior was kind of worn, but comfy for the two of us. There are bunk beds in the hall (no privacy for those) and a sofa bed in the living room. Overall, it was a great stay, and we would certainly go back!

      Great pet-friendly location

      This was a great location for our vacation with our small dog. Duck beaches are very pet-friendly also.

      The condo itself was fine, with an ocean view from the balcony which also had netting to make sure your pet doesn't fall off! Condo has a very large-screen TV, but the picture quality wasn't so great. Not much of a problem for me - I don't go to the beach to watch TV anyway - just thought I should mention it. I was concerned that there might be smells from previous pets, but there was no problem with that whatsoever.

      Keyless entry system meant that we didn't have to worry with juggling the keys between us, and you don't have to drop off any keys when you check out! Linens provided also a definite plus!

      We'd definitely stay here again!
