Wotton, managed by Ships Watch, was actually nicer in my opinion than it appeared on the website. The best surprise was the lovely revitalizing views from the upper room. Escaping the northeast snow was our desire and the accomadations at this lovely home made our escape well worth the 8 hr. drive.
There were a few major issues with housekeeping upon arrival, but they were immediately taken care of and we were treated to a lovely dinner at The Blue Point. No complaints here...this is how great service should be and the management at Ships Watch scored big with me!
The home is very well equipped for a beach vacation. Having stayed in many upscale homes in the Outer Banks, I must say this one provided amenities that most don't like very nice beach chairs,umbrellas and coolers. Everything you might need or want could be found here.(really loved the inside Jenn-Aire grill)
Again I must comment on the nice location. I was disappointed there wasn't a home beachfront, but the view from the upstairs loft area was fantastic and made a wonderful sunny spot for me to spend hours reading,journaling,meditating and relaxing.
I found this trip to be very pleasant for a winter beach vacation. Of course we had to bundle up to walk on the beach, but we loved it and even found some treasures.(driftwood and shells)
I can think of only one luxury I would have enjoyed and that would have been a hot tub on one of the lovely decks. Also the decor in the home, although it was very well maintained, was a bit outdated.
Overall, this rental is one I would recommend to friends and to family. Ships Watch does a fantastic job taking care of their guests, so much so that I would consider a more permanent vacation home here.
