Great vacation home in the middle of everything!

Short walk to the beach. Short drive to all the sites and activities. A very clean and comfortable home with all the furnishings and amenities you could hope for. Our family had a wonderful vacation. We would definitely stay here again!

      Wonderful family retreat...

Left on 09/05/2010 for a stay in August 2010

This is the perfect house for the large family. There was plenty of space to have your own pricacy...and plenty of space to all gather together. All of the amenities were perfect...It was almost like having your own personal resort! The pool, the putting green, horshoes and volleyball court provided so many outdoor activities that you could spend a whole day in the sun and have fun without ever leaving your home. We were also impressed by the level of service that Outer Banks Blue provided. All of our requests were met with prompt responses. It was indeed an excellent vacation!

      Great Place to Stay!

Left on 07/22/2010 for a stay in June 2010

This is a great vacation home. It has loads of amenities - everything you need. The extras such as bikes, pool toys, beach chairs, volleyball net, and much more was great. No need to bring anything but your personal items. We will definitely consider this home again.

      as promised

I was pleasantly surprised to find that all the ammeneties such as bikes, pool and beach accessories were really there. This is one of the best equiped homes we have ever stayed in. Outer Banks Blue was great to deal with as well. Our only negative was the beach access. For families with children and all their "junk" the access was a pain. You could see there used to be one at the end of the road but it was overgrown. So you had to walk even further to the next one. But overall i think the house was great.

      Wonderful Family Getaway

Left on 09/10/2009 for a stay in August 2009

My family and I (9 adults and 6 children) arrived at Sand Palace OBX on 8/8/09. From the beginning we were impressed with the home. Everything was as advertised. All of the furniture and bedding was in great condition as were the pool toys, bikes, beach toys, etc. The house was spacious enough for all 15 of us to have family time together, but also have time to ourselves if necessary.

The beach was a bit further away than we expected (down the road and around the corner), but having the private pool more than made up for it.

Outer Banks Blue provided nice touches during our stay such as a welcome bag with a few supplies to get us started, and a welcome basket with corn on the cob and fruit (both the bag and basket were greatly appreciated). They were also very responsive to our calls for minor service repairs (rip in the screen door on the top floor and malfunctioning/missing remote for the TV on the ground floor) and came out the next day to address our concerns. Furthermore, when the electricity went out (through no fault of Outer Banks Blue) they checked on us to ensure that the power was restored.

I highly recommend Outer Banks Blue and Sand Palace OBX. We can't wait for our next family vacation!

      Relaxation at its best

Beautiful house. Great location between the beach and the sound. House was well kept and had everything you need to keep the kids and adults occupied. Plenty of room so everyone is not on top of each other. Definately would recommend.

      Fun week with lousy weather.

Left on 07/29/2009 for a stay in July 2009

Due to the economy at this time we had to choose a less expensive house this year. Sand Palace OBX was a great choice. It didn't have ceramic tile and granite counter tops but it was very nice. We loved the putting green and volleyball court. The house also had bikes and helmets and a wagon to take eveything to the beach in. It was very clean when we arrived. The washing machine stopped working but it was repaired quickly. The only problem we had was ants in two of the bedrooms. The disappointing part was the weather, only one sunny day the entire week. Suggestion, a TV in each bedroom would be nice. Overall we were very happy with this house.

      Great home, many amenities

Left on 09/23/2008 for a stay in August 2008

We rented this house with two other families. Overall, we felt that the ad described completely what the house had to offer. It was spacious, and well-equipped. It might have been helpful knowing beforehand how many bikes, boogie boards etc. so that we wouldn't have packed as much. When we arrived at the house there was some cleaning that still needed to be done, so we called OBB and the crew came right over. We weren't happy with the house not being stocked with toilet paper and hand towels, bathmats in every bathroom. The first person I spoke with at Outer Banks Blue told me that only ONE roll was provided for the house, however the list that was stuck on the fridge from your agency mentioned that every bathroom should have one roll. I was surprised to be given misinformation and having to make multiple calls for things that were supposed to be provided.

Response from Outer Banks Blue - 09/23/2008

      Outer Banks Blue

      Manager

      Kim,

Thanks for your feedback on this and we apologize for the confusion on how the home is to be equipped. We do supply a "starter supply" of toilet paper in that we provide one roll per bathroom, and of course the welcome bag on the kitchen counter contains another two rolls. We find that our guests do appreciate the fact that they don't have to run to the store immediately to stock this item, but we are not able to equip all of our properties with paper products for the entire week. Relative to the linens, you should have been provided one bath towel and one wash cloth per person, one bath mat per shower/bath, two hand towels per bath, and of course the kitchen linens of dish cloth, sponge, tea towels and hot pads.
We apologize if this is not what you found.

We look foward to serving you better in the future!

      Fabulous family vacation house!

Left on 09/22/2008 for a stay in June 2008

My entire family stayed at the Sand Palace in June, 2008, and we couldn't have been happier. The ages of the children ranged from 1 to 17 and absolutely everyone had fun. The house was immaculate and the pool and hot tub were fantastic. If we were too hot at the beach, which was a walk away, we came "home" and hopped in the pool. It couldn't have been more perfect. The yard was also great for the adults to play their games in, too!
We were very happy with everything. As a matter of fact, we are planning another vacation for next year! The whole family, again!!!!
