The home was well-maintained. It has been 4 years since we stayed here and it met our needs well. The washer and dryer are nice to have, except the dryer needs replaced it did not dry until about 3 cycles were completed. Also, if planning on using the pull-out couch try another option as the springs holding the mattress in place are largely missing. We had taken sleeping bags along and simply used them. We enjoyed using Outer Banks Blue due to the linens and keyless entry code. This home is a good location, and has a lot to offer with the pool, hot tub, and sand volley ball court. Enjoy!

The house satisfacted our needs for 13 people, except for the sofa bed on the ground floor. My son, from San Francisco, and his 2 children joined in the family fun gathering. He was unable to sleep on the sofa bed as the springs were broken. He slept on the sofa and didn't have a restful week. I was very disappointed, as this was a time for children and grandchildren to join my new husband and me in family time. The kitchen was well appointed, the pool and hot tub were enjoyed by all. Time with family was the key to the week. Bring your own pillow.

The home was beautiful. It is located in a nice community and very short, straight walk to the beach access. The only major complaints we had were, the sound system that was to be able to be heard by the pool did not work at all!, the house could use a maintance overhall to fix the small problems such a drywall issues & poor mirrors in bathrooms. Overall great house for the price. We hope the sound system is up and running for our vacation in august 2011!
A week of wonderful memories made!

We stayed in Duckaway Home with 3 other families and had a wonderful week. The house was layed out perfectly for family privacy as well as quality togetherness. We started every day at the beach and spent every afternoon at the house pool. It was great for the kids to be able to swim while we served lunch and prepared dinner. We also loved the small town feel of Duck and especially Duck Donuts!! I highly recommend Duckaway home for a great multi-family vacation!

My family enjoyed Duckaway Home. We were able to play sand volleyball, enjoy our own private pool and jacuzzi and were walking distance to the beach. Very relaxing and lots of things to do!

Outer Banks Blue was professional and helpful. Making a reservation was simple and safe. Duckaway Home as described by Outer Banks blue was accurate.
Our family of 6 adults and 2 children loved Duckaway home.Would have been 8 adults but gram-mom and gram-pop couldn't make it this year. Plenty of room to be together as well as apart!!
Multiple decks, and each bed room has private deck!
View is limited but at night front deck has great sky view and stars were beautiful.
We spent hours relaxing in the pool and hot tub, both were in great condition and clean. We were pleased to find a wonderful array of beach chairs, pool floats, board games and toys, videos and books. It felt like home.
We found kitchen well stocked to prepare simple no fuss meals, we grilled daily poolside, as well as enjoyed eating out in nearby town of Duck. Duck Donuts are a real morning treat and made fresh daily. We chose to drive into town, temps were in high 90's, parking in Duck is no problem in August. Easy bike ride into town.
Beach weather was perfect, we loved our private beach daily! We had short walk down private community road to beach. No crowds!!!
This was our first visit to the Outer Banks and our stay in Duckaway Home made it a memorable one.
We really enjoyed our vacation spent in Duckaway Home so much we wished we would have booked 2 weeks.
Maybe next Summer!!!
Great layout, location and amenities.

We were all able to sit together in the great room, visit, watch TV, and play video games. The shops of Duck were a short drive up the street, but our location was still private and quiet.
We loved the convenience of having multiple bedroom/bathroom suites. The beach was a short walk through a quiet, secluded neighborhood.
Our only real problem was the condition of the volleyball court --- too many nails and other dangerous debris to risk using the court.
Great location, but could have been better.

The home was a great location in Duck--very family friendly. Unfortunately, we were greeted on check-in day with a refrigerator that did not work. The agency was unable to replace the frig until mid-day on Monday, and some food was spoiled. There were a few other issues such as the upstairs shower not sustaining hot water, and being unable to find the valve for the outside shower that were addressed by the reality after day 3. The kitchen is not a fully stocked kitchen if you are one who goes on vacation to cook for evening meals, but it is fine if you go out or order take out for meals.

We rented this home last year. It was wonderful and more than we expected. (We went to Corolla this year just for a change, also rented through Outer Banks Blue)The company is great to deal with. We recommend them to everyone! Duck-Away was a Beautiful house with everything they advertised and more. The weather was perfect. Our whole family went, 4 daughters, 1 grandaughter and sons-in-laws. There was so much room; everyone was very comfortable and we all felt right at home.It is a spacious and wonderful house! Many memories were made there.I would go back tomorrow!!!
Relaxing getaway for all!

Great house with fantastic pool. Comfortable with 10-12 people. Short walk to non-crowded, wide open beach. Secluded neighborhood close to shops and markets. I would have stayed longer if I had the time and will certainly try to make it back!
