Very relaxing stay. Property easily accommodated our extended family of 10 adults and 4 children/youth. This house, in the Four Seasons development, is right next to the fitness center (indoor pool); it's about a 10-minute walk to the beach itself. The Four Seasons complex has 2 private access points to the beach; no public access to the beach in the town of Duck.
I was impressed that one of the owners of Beach House on the Moon called us while we were there to see if we were satisfied with the accommodations. -

Our family visits the Outer Banks fairly often, usually staying in the somewhat less developed areas of Corolla (Ocean Hill, for example.) But for this Christmas week, our first one spent down here, we decided that the amenities of the Four Seasons community would best suit our needs.
With the wonderful huge heated pool in the community center right next door, and a hot tub with festive color changing lights, this home really suited our extended family group of 23. The house itself is very cozy and comfortable; it's not as grand as some of the newer ones, of course, but that in itself was a plus for the season. There's a beautiful walkway to the beach, but the views from the house are out into your own mini "forest"; perfect for Christmas! The house is wonderfully planned for a large group, from the double everything in the kitchen to the two big dining tables to the extremely well stocked (and labeled! :) ) kitchen. It was just very, very easy to get everything done that we wanted; we did all of the cooking for a big Christmas feast and other meals without any problems at all.
We had a great time, and enthusiastically recommend Beach House on the Moon for large families! -

We loved the area and the family was able to enjoy every meal together around the tables arranged so all 19 of us could eat together. The outside could have been cleaned up better to eliminate the dead leaves etc. The pool was fine and the location of the house was perfect for being so close to the community house. The service for repairing the dryer was excellent the interior of the home was very clean .

This is a beautifully furnished home, great floor plan and location. The swimming pool and new hot-tub are great amanities. This is a spacious home that has accommodated our large extended family since it was first available for rent.

My family and I stayed in this house the last week of May. We had so much fun. The pool and hot tub were great! Also the kitchen is fully stocked..Everything you could need is there. Our family enjoyed this house and the location so much that we plan to make it a yearly family tradition. Love love loved it!

It was very easy to take care of everything from renting house, to making payment on-line. Everyone was able to make their own payment so we did not have to worry about collecting money from everyone. The home was beautiful, plenty of room for the 23 of us. The home is right in the middle of the Island not far from everything. Very family oriented. Driving on the beach, seeing the wild horses, and also seeing the dolphins play in the water was a real treat.

The weather was rainy most of the week so it was nice to be so close to the clubhouse for the kids to keep busy. The walk to the beach was a little less than desireable but access to the wonderful town of Duck was a plus. The house was a great value! It could stand some updates but overall was a fun trip :)

This house was very big and nice. It accomedated a large group of people. (we had 24). The pool area was great with the pool and hot tub . I liked that there were lots of balconies on the back of the house as well. The house was clean and it was nice to be able to check in earlier then 4pm. I just wish it was closer to the beach althought the trolley was nice, it was a little far to go when you needed to use the bathroom. It was nice to be within walking distance of the shops in the town of Duck. Overall it was an awesome house for an awesome week of fun!!

We had a great time at Beach House on the Moon with a large family gathered for a 50th birthday party. The location, next door to the clubhouse and within walking distance to Duck's shops and restaurants, was perfect. We used all the amenities, including indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, and game room, and made sure to welcome every sunrise with a nice walk on the beach. I highly recommend the bike rental shop a few blocks walk up the main drag. They were very laid-back and helped us pick out bikes that were just right for our group.

There were 23 of us. Ten were our granchildren. It was fabulous being together. The house was so comfortable. There was everything there that we needed. Walking to the beach each day was great. All the other things that our kids signed up to do in the area, proved to be fun. We were right next door to the fitness center, and it was an easy walk to town for shopping. Attending the concert in town was enjoyable. The week ended too quickly. My little grandson said "why are we leaving if we all like it so much?".

This house can easily accommodate 5 couples with 6 kids, because that is how many we had for our recent family reunion -- with beds to spare!
We loved Duck! What a great little town and Beach House on The Moon is about 1/4-1/2 mile away. Perfect.
The beach was a small hike, but the shuttle makes it easy. We loved having the pool and hot tubs behind the house and the indoor adult and kiddie pool at the next-door Rec center.
The kitchen had 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers +1 downstairs), 2 microwaves and everything you need for preparing meals for the masses. Counting the fridge downstairs, there are even 2 refrigerators.
This house would have 5* if there were new shower liners in the showers. A nit, I know. But it is what I would hope for in this luxury home.Response from Outer Banks Blue - 08/28/2009

Family had a fantastic time in this beautiful home. Walking distance from the beach to the bay was wonderful. All the rooms and kitchen space was more then adequate for the 18 of us. We want to return in two years.
A couple suggestions would be to REPLACE all shower curtains and sharpen kitchen knives.Response from Outer Banks Blue - 08/07/2009

This was an impeccable vacation! It started with the ease and courtesy of Outer Banks Blue. They are by far the easiest realitor I've ever dealt with on the Outer Banks. I've never had trouble, but this was a breeze.
The home was absolutely perfect for our family. Lots of room and the amenties were fantastic. Would have been alittle nicer to be closer to the beach, but the close distance to the shopping made up for it.
The kids love the beach, but the nightly swims in the pool and the relaxing hot tub were a PLUS!
There were however just a few "cleanliness" issues. A few cobwebs here and there and some slight mold on some of the shower curtains. The jacuzzi tub was out of order in the master suite for most of the week, but really wasn't an issue. There was a shower and if you wanted jets in your bath, go down to the hot tub after your shower.
Overall a wonderful vacation and if we can manage to get all 22 of us together again for a vacation, I will be giving Outer Banks Blue a call!! -

Clean, bright, roomy, pleasant, everything working, good location. This is a great rental, and we've already reserved for next year. A bit of a walk to the beach (10 minutes), but there's a shuttle bus, and there often was parking at the community pool next to the beach (with the same parking tag you use to park in the house's driveway). Very short walk to the sound (to catch crabs or watch the sunset), and a very short walk into Duck for ice cream, etc. A very pleasant lot, big lawn and lots of trees in back, though you can hear and sort of see Route 12 traffic through the trees (not far away). But those are minor drawbacks, the benefit of a clean pleasant house in a great neighborhood far outweigh them. We'll be back.

Moon". Convenient to the beach, Rec Center, shopping and dining. A perfect
fit for our family of 18 ( ages 4 to 76). And then to place it on the Outer Banks,

We will always remember our 2009 family vacation as one of the most fun and relaxing time as a family. The home was comfortable even though we maxed it out for people capacity. I did fret about the details until we stepped in the front door and knew at that moment there was no need for anymore fretting. It was clean and welcoming incredibly spacious and well stock for any of our needs. We would go back in a heartbeat and if possible we will. We had a very welcoming expierence from the the first contact to the last. Thank you!

Group of 13 stayed at this home end of Sept. to beginning of Oct. 2008. Plenty of room for all. House was basically clean. Carpet was used hard and could tell by many spots and need for cleaning. Also, kitchen utensils, used hard and not in best of shape. Plenty of dishware and it was nice to have own pool and hottub. Both of those items, pool company cared for well. Was nice to have walkway directly behind the property, that could be followed over to the beach. All and all would probably rent again, although with so many choices, will no doubt look for another property for next vacation.

My husband and I gave a gift to our children and their families this year. We had 20 people and the acomidations were wonderful. The pool was used every day, the kids fished, played on the beach, took side trips, and shopped. It was awesome to have a house large enough for our entire family to enjoy. We loved the house and the location! We hope to go back some day!

Our family of 18 stayed at Beach House on the Moon for our parents 50th Anniversary--the only time all 18 of us have had a vacation together.
Great location to Duck. We were able to walk or bike to shop or eat. Long walk to the beach. Great pool. Wonderful kitchen!! Everyone enjoyed all the outside decks.
AC did no function properly, but it was 100 degrees outside. One of the bedrooms did not have a ceiling fan and it was very stuffy. -

We had relatives from several states come in for a wedding and found the house perfect! The bedrooms were large enough and the common areas allowed for cousins who haven't seen other in years to re-acquaint. We are already thinking about doing it again next year .. without the wedding part!!!

This house was awesome! It had every amenity imaginable and it was clean upon entry. Everything from decorations to appliances to you name it was up to date. It was truly a "walk in ready to be lived in home!"
Another plus to the home is that it was so kid friendly.
Our visit was a first for us to the Outer Banks and a first for staying at "Beach House on the Moon." It won't be our last!

We stayed for a week in April. You can't go wrong with the price for a week at this time of year! The weather is a little cooler, but we had a wonderful time. This beautiful 8 bedroom home was in spotless condition, and located right next door to a club house with indoor pool, tennis courts, excerise room and basketball court. A sidewalk path took you right to the ocean which was a short walk. I really like the quaint town of Duck as well. I would suggest you bring more towels, as only a couple towels are provided for each bathroom. However, you do have 2 washers & 2 dryers! The jacuzzi in the main bedroom did not work, but other than that, it was a spotless, beautiful well stocked home. Can't wait to go back!
