PittsburghThe town of duck a very cute and relaxing vacation spot
Left on 07/22/2012 for a stay in July 2012
This is the second time we have rented this house. It's a great little close to the beach and the town. Our only issue was that there was no cable all week. They didn't restore cable until the friday before we left and that was only in the main room. Also they do need to update the tvs in the bedrooms.

Over all our time at the beach was just ok. There were a lot of discrepancies. A lot of items were missing for comfort. The beds were most uncomfortable. We love the beach and the great North Carolina seafood. The people of Outer Banks N.C. were very polite and courteous. We love seeing the sites, wild horses and the light houses.

was not properly cleaned - lots of dog hair found everywhere. the mattresses are truly terrible. we had a water leak through the ceiling from the aC. we love the location and the house fits our needs well. This is our 3rd time in this property and it is obvious that some basic wear items have been ignored.

Great beach house, nice size rooms, updated appliances, great price, and allows pets. It was perfect for the price and the size of our family. The yard could have used some tlc.

Columbia, MDGreat location, lovely and clean interior
Left on 07/12/2010 for a stay in June 2010
It was the perfect size house for our family of six. And we really enjoyed the one floor living. It was super clean too. We loved being able to walk to dinner or for ice cream in the evenings. Will definitely return.
Also loved the keyless entry and ability to make and confirm reservations online. The realty company had excellent communication skills. -

MarylandRelaxing week with the family and my dogs!
Left on 07/12/2010 for a stay in June 2010
Everything was perfect except:
- Once we arrived (Saturday evening) half the house did not have power. Had to call maintenance and be a bit "persuasive" before they sent someone out on Sunday to flip the circuit breaker which was in the locked garage.
- If planning to store heavy items in the garage (bikes), think again! You need to make sure you get the key to the garage which apparently is not included in the rental. Otherwise, you have to haul all your items up and down a flight of stairs since the house has a second floor entry. So not handicap friendly either.
Otherwise, great place. All linen, towels, dishes, ... clean. Walk to the beach is about 5 minutes. Walk to the town of Duck is about 5 minutes also. We fell in love with the town of Duck. We loved how relaxed the rules are about having dogs on the beach. As long as you clean up and have well behaved dogs, they can even be off the leash. We were more comfortable with keeping them on long leashes.
Grocery shopping: either 5 miles before you get to the house at Kitty Hawk (Food Lion - 24 hours I believe). Or 20 mile past the house at another Food Lion around Corolla. There is a market right down the street from the house (10 Minutes) where you can buy packaged foods, bread, ..., but be prepared to pay dearly.
Tv has pretty much all the major cable channels. I was worried about missing the World Cup games, but there was Espn, Espn2, ... reception. Wireless internet also worked as advertised.
Make sure you know turn on the outside light switch before you go out at nights. There was a light with a motion sensor, but it does not work. So unless you flip the entrance light before you go out for the evening, you will come back to a pitch black house and have to go up the stairs to the entrance in absolute darkness. Hope this was helpful. -

We arrived to find everything exactly as we'd
hoped. Everything was sparkling clean and ready
for us. The house was perfect for our needs -- it
accommodated two couples, a young adult and a well
behaved dog with space left over. We all had
privacy but enjoyed the open common areas for
communal times - enjoying conversation, dinner or a
bit of TV viewing. The decor was just right,
furnished adquately -- warm and inviting but not
fussy or cluttered.
The location was perfect -- this was our first time
to OBX and Duck and we made an excellent choice.
This house has an ideal location on a nice, quiet
street but only a 3-5 minute walk to town or the
beach, No parking or driving hassles! We loved
the ease of renting -- email check in and keyless
entry is superb. When we come back to Duck, we'd
choose this house again. -

OBX Lover
Sterling, VirginiaNot as good as 2007
Left on 10/03/2008 for a stay in July 2008
We had a wonderful stay in July 2007; however, the house was not as enjoyable this stay. There were some cleaning and maintenance issues that went unresolved which put a damper on our stay. The house is a cozy place but a hike to the ocean. The neighborhood is friendly - a mix of year round residents and many rental properties. One of the few properties that allow pets which is a real plus for us. Our experience this year is not indicative of this home or the property management. On any given day, someone is bound to have an unpleasant experience no matter how good the home or company is.

This home was nice to stay in because everything was so nice and new. It was nice and close to shopping, however, it was a little far from the beach.

Close to everything!
Left on 08/18/2008 for a stay in July 2008
This was a great house and it was close to everything. We rented bikes and rode them to the beach and to the stores. It was great for two couples because each couple had their own "suite." This would also be good for a family. I would definitely return this house!

Perfect Location
Left on 07/07/2008 for a stay in June 2008
Great House! This is the first time renting a house. It was newly remodeled and clean.
Perfect location, in between the beach and
the shops. We could walk or bike to either.
We enjoyed sitting out, dining or sunning on the large deck also.
The kitchen was well provisioned, not with plasticware, they even had a clam Steamer!
Would rent it again.
