Your search for the perfect beach house begins and ends with Merryweather! Located in the peacefully secluded private community of Port Trinitie in Duck, this delightful and accommodating home with lovely water views is tucked in amongst the Live Oak trees that are a hallmark of this exclusive community. Port Trinitie is a rare and wonderful property that offers easy access to both the Ocean and to the Sound. You’re just a short walk from a beautiful, uncrowded Atlantic beach where you can relax and listen to the surf, or swim and ride the waves. A two-minute walk in the other direction takes you to a private beach on the Sound side, where... the water is warm and shallow, and perfect for young swimmers. You’ll enjoy access to three swimming pools: there is a large community pool on the ocean side and on the Sound side, plus a private pool in your own backyard (14x30). Guests also have access to the community tennis courts and the community dock on the Sound side where you can launch a kayak, fish, go crabbing, or sit under the gazebo with a glass of wine watching the sun set over the tranquil waters of the Currituck Sound.

Merryweather is beautifully appointed, and with 7 bedrooms and 6 and one-half baths, there’s plenty of room for everyone. You’ll love the Sound views from many rooms in the house. You can enjoy the sunset from the deck, and later appreciate a sky full of stars from your private hot tub. This comfortable, well decorated home has every amenity, including a cozy den on the top floor with sofas, desk and Sound views, and a game room on the ground floor.   The house was beautiful and well equipped for our needs. We had 15 people and had plenty of room for all. My only feedback would be that, because of the way the house is laid out it would be helpful to have better locks on the doors higher up. We were concerned that the younger children on the 1st and 2nd floors could easily get outside at night without the adults knowing since the only locks on the doors were simple knob locks.
  Other than that and a few cobwebs, everything was awesome. Seaside vacations could not have responded more quickly when we needed a new coffee pot and ran out of propane. They were there right away both times. I highly recommend their services.
  This location was also awesome as it had easy close access to both the beach and sound side and didnt require crossing busy roads to get to either side. It was very much like a residential neighborhood.

  This house was accurately represented in your photos. It was everything that we had hoped it would be. We had a minor issue with the pool on the fourth of July and someone came and fixed it within two hours. The location was perfect, walk to the beach, cross the street for the sound. We will definitely be going back. Not to sound picky because it didn't affect our stay but there were cobwebs with bugs and the air conditioner vent that was visible from the dining table was pretty dirty. Overall, I loved this house!

  The Best Ever!!

  We had such a wonderful family reunion (three siblings, spouses, kids, a dog and our 90 year old parents) in this fabulous house. Everyone had their own room and bathroom. It was so comfy for the parents too. My parents loved walking to the Sound to watch the sun set, and sitting in the library or on the nice porch at the top of the stairs where they could see the water. We spent our mornings wind surfing, paddle boarding and playing with our remote-controlled boat on the calm waters of the Sound, and our afternoons swimming and body surfing in the ocean or walking along the beautiful beach and finding shells. Then we headed back to our house pool and a quick hot tub. Every thing was perfect!! Not to mention happy hour on the deck, wonderful meals and amazing stargazing. Best place ever for a family reunion with plenty to do for all ages. Can't wait to go back next year!! The Baldwins

  Perfect Beach Getaway

  We really had an amazing time at this fantastic house! The house is in a great location; it's a short walk to the beach and yet also has great views of the bay, especially around sunset. After spending the day on the beach it was great being able to come back to the house and hang out in the pool and hot tub. The house is spacious and has a nice layout. The kitchen is large and well equipped, and we really enjoyed making family style meals. We also appreciated the four master bedrooms and the cute, beach themed bedrooms. The beach is beautiful and we couldn't have asked for better weather. We can't wait to go back next year!

  My family and friends had such a wonderful vacation at the Quacker Box home. The house is just beautiful and decorated lovely! The house provided us the comforts of home, as they allowed us to bring our two yorkies which was a huge plus!!
  The pool was perfect for my 15 month-old who could enjoy the water without the sand for the parents to clean up!!!
  I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a great rental!

  We really enjoyed this lovely, sparkling clean home. We shared the house with four families, and there was plenty of room for all. The seven bedrooms plus game room and quiet reading room easily accommodated everyone. The four master bedrooms were perfect for the four sets of parents, and the kids shared the bunks and singles in the other three bedrooms. The comfortable communal areas were conducive to great times cooking, eating, and relaxing together, and yet anyone wanting privacy and quiet could enjoy that too in this spacious house. The rent seemed very reasonable, and on a per-person basis, it was a terrific bargain. The house is very well-situated a short walk to the beach in one direction and the Sound in the other and near the best shops, restaurants, and markets in Duck. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the Sound from the top deck every night, playing tennis at the community courts just across the street, kayaking on the Sound, bike riding on the Duck trail, and of course, swimming in the ocean. After a hard day of relaxing, it was great to take a dip in the private pool or hang out watching the stars from the hot tub. This house had everything one could ask for.

  Our entire family including grandparents, children, and grandchildren went for our yearly Outer Banks Vacation to spend time together. This was our first experience with the Quacker Box which said it's name had been changed to Merryweather when we arrived. We had read a review prior to arrival which detailed a spider problem; however, we were told it had been taken care of. Spiders were still a very ever present part of this vacation home. Outside on all stairways, under the carport, around the entire house, and inside in every room, you could see webs and live spiders. Whether in the corners, on fixtures, or suspending over the table from time to time...you had spiders ever present. The seaside vacation rental personnel are very friendly and helpful, and the person that came out to spray was as well; however, the spiders are not vacationing there, it is their permanent residence. I do suggest that the cleaning staff take a more active strategy by brushing down all the webs and spiders when they dust, and maybe that would help. The owners sent a very nice basket of goodies to be enjoyed which was very thoughtful. This house has a very nice pool and hot tub area; however we did have trouble with the pool filter and we were not able to get it serviced until Friday when we were leaving on Saturday. The rooms are a nice size and all the electronics are in good working order. It is located right between the sound and the beach so that gives you two choices for kayaking, fishing, and beach play. You are not allowed to use any type of fireworks at the house including sparklers for the kids. Since we were there for the 4th of July, that was a little let down, but we like to follow the rules and apparently this is becoming a widespread guideline. Overall this a very nice vacation home, quite spacious, and comfortable, in a great location, internet and cable ready. If the spiders could be persuaded to take up residence elsewhere, I would recommend it to any family.

  We are very glad you enjoyed the house, but sorry you had a problem with spiderwebs.
  
  They are quite common on the Outerbanks because we have a natural, tree-friendly environment there. We take care to keep them out of the house and employed a service to make sure the house stays pest-free. They inspected and treated the house as soon as we learned of your problem, and the guests who have stayed they since your visit have reported all is well.
  
  Most spiders are nocturnal, so if one of the kids forgets and leaves a door or unscreened window open at night, odds are you will have company in the morning. They are harmless, but most of us would prefer to keep them outside!
  
  There is a nice memo in the Quacker Box house book that provides good tips on how to do that.

  Wonderful accommodations

  We loved the house! We thought we would have 12 people with us but ended up with fewer. There was more than enough room for everyone and would have been if all had come. We are runners and used the pool in the mornings after we ran and then again in the evening after dinner. The house had everything we needed. My only caution is there are quite a few stairs so be prepared for that - 14 to each floor. This was our first stay in Duck and we loved the town. The house is about 1/4 mile from the beach. This was fine for us - we had lots of big kids to help haul umbrellas, etc. Be sure to bring something to help carry your umbrellas, towels, and food to the beach. Enjoy it! You will not want to leave!

  Spider Nest

  We were very pleased with the house and location. Everything was great. The only really nasty bad thing was the spiders. The house was filled with webs and live spiders, both large ones and small ones. There were new webs to be walked though every morning. I did receive several spider bites on my shoulder from one in my shirt that had been washed 3 days earlier.
  Honestly you need to have this house cleared from them.

  Our stay was fantastic! Waking up in the morning and walking out onto the back deck you are met with a beautiful view of the sound, a short walk in the opposite direction and you reach the ocean. The house was very clean and had a friendly, inviting atmosphere. The pool and spa were cleaned and ready for use when we arrived, and were exploited greatly. Overall an absolute highlight of the summer... Wish we were back.

  This was a beautiful, clean and comfortable house for everyone in the family. It is one of the few palces in OBX to enjoy the ocean and the sound with a short walk to each side. Two community pools and tennis are really convenient too. Loved the sunsets over the sound and the water views from all over the house.
