The house itself is a bit weak: flimsy railings and stairs, circular stairs (is this a lighthouse, mommy?), small gathering space in the living room. Great for 2-4 people, beyond that it's tight. Kitchen was good, the beds were very comfortable, the hot tub was fun. But the location was superior: walking distance to the boardwalk, great shops, grocery stores, and restaurants.

House was clean and spacious but absolutely no paper products when we arrived. View of sound was good. Hot tub very clean and nice. Not good for older people because of narrow steps on spiral staircase to bedrooms. Kitchen was well furnished.

We rented bikes and rode our bikes to the pool. The grandchildren loved the loft area where their beds were located. The home is centrally located within walking distance to the shops. However, the grill was rusty, dirty, and unkept which prohibited us from grilling. Seaside got us new chairs so we could sit out on the deck at night and watch the sun set. Otherwise, it was a great house for rent with a family.

The location of the house is great. And the furniture is cormfortable. But the yard needs some landscaping before the vines overrun the driveway, deck and house. The decks had great views, but there was no deck furniture other than the built-in benches. And there were no dvds, paper or pencils, flashlights, beach toys/chairs, or anything extra. The house was adequate, but I wouldn't stay here again unless there was nothing else available. Great location, though.

Overall we had a very pleasant week. Location was fabulous (walk-able to beach but if you prefer, can drive/park; walk-able to duck, too), and the house was comfortable and quiet. There were some minor issues with the house (toilet paper holder downstairs was missing the cross bar, microwave turntable didn't fit - seemed to belong to another microwave, relatively sparse kitchen pots/pans), however, there were 2 more important things:
1. The only stairs in the house were 2 flights of a narrow spiral staircase. This was fine for us but likely very difficult for a family with someone elderly or very young. I think your house description should note this.
2. This was advertised as a 4 bedroom house, however, it is clearly not a 4 bedroom house, it is a 3 bedroom house with a loft. This is more serious as it was not truthfully advertised. There is a 4th room on the top floor with 2 twin beds but no closet and no door. This is a loft, not a bedroom. This was very inconvenient and would have impacted our rental decision, since, with no door, it was rather loud and difficult for my girls to sleep there.Response from Seaside Vacations* - 09/03/2011

Realty company was great. Very friendly. Let me check in a little early. Nice surprise. Linens and towels were a nice bonus. House worked fine except spiral staircase was a challenge for my 76 year old mother. Cottage could use some updating and some detail cleaning. Rugs had lots of stains. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had most everything we needed. Pool was a nice addition to the beach. It worked for our family and our son's friends but would not rent it again. A little tight and not as updated as we are used to.

Very unhappy with the unit, here's a list of problems:
washer destroyed some of our clothes. The water was hot even when you selected cold.
dusty...had to dust before we could even unpack
blender and toaster oven did not work
microwave stopped working while we were there
called mtnc for broken toilets and termites in window.
frig door was broken when we arrived
cookware was horrible...needs to be updated
tv in queen bed room only got 10 channels and remote doesn't turn it off
entertainment cabinet has a piece coming off...safety hazard
top floor was very hot
trundle bed cover was very dirty
so was the blanket in the master bedroom closet
no toilet ppr holder in first flr bathroom
floors were very dirty
overgrown shrubbery...scratches paint on vehicle
kitchen sink clogged up easily
I called prop mgr and deborah called me back...we played phone tag for 2 days then I left 2 more msgs and never heard back from her. I wanted to talk with someone about this but she didn't call me back. We would like a partial refund of our stay. The house needs attention. There is ivy growing up the house. There were spiders through out the house. The upstairs toilet run water until you took the lid off and adjusted the stopper. The plug for the hot tub did not fit correctly and is a safety issue. A lot of things you don't expect to deal with on vacation!
