Scarborough, MEBeautiful executive oceanfront home with spectaculer views from
Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in September 2011
This gorgeous executive beach home has breathtaking views from both the ocean and the sound. That's where it's name "Both Sides Now" was derived from. It has a direct view of the sound from the front decks with beautiful sunsets and if you are up for the sunrise, they are just as breathtaking from all the back decks (including the 5th floor private master bedroom deck) overlooking the ocean. The humungous outdoor pool has lap lanes along with a large open swim area and is surrounded by a large patio area.
This home has many bedrooms and bathrooms to accomodate multiple familes. The kitchen is large large enough to have many cooks at the same time and has top quality appliances including two dishwashers and two wine coolers. There also is a wine cooler in the master bathroom, theatre room, living room and family bedroom with mini kitchen/bar. All the rooms are very spacious with hardwood flooring and many with french or patio doors opening to all the decking surrounding the home. Besides the extremely large living and dining rooms there is a theatre room and an entertainment room with a pool table. There also is an elevator which comes in handy when schlepping groceries and luggage up!
This exquisite home is one that you would want to return to every time you visit the Outer Banks! -

San FranciscoGreat house for a vacation with friends and family!!!
Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in July 2011
We stayed here with just our three kids and had a phenomenal time. However, this house can accommodate two families very easily. The scale of this house is large. You can hang out together in the huge kitchen/family room area, or find some alone time out on one of the many decks. Our kids spent many an evening shooting pool or enjoying a movie in the large home theatre. The home sits on a peninsula so you can see the Bay on one side of the house and the ocean on the other side of the house. The dilemma of the day was whether we wanted to spend time in the pool, on the Bay or on the beach. We did it all!! We were most enthralled with the wildlife. We saw dolphins, fish, crab and birds galore including osprey and pelicans. You can kayak on the bay, or catch waves on the beach. Our son spent a significant amount of time perfecting his skim boarding skills, and all of the kids enjoyed some body surfing.
Once you've figured out your activities, and there are many, including all forms of water activities, golf, wild horses, and shopping, you need to figure out your meals. We ate most of our meals at the house. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is a BBQ grill outside, which we used often!
We'll definitely go back and stay at this house, but we'll consider bringing another family with us!

Stayed at this gorgeous place this past week and it was beyond my expectations. Love how it is surrounded by water, the view from the top tower bedroom balcony is breathtaking. It feels like you are on your own island with all the luxuries of a castle.
The sprawling patios leave tons of room for outdoor get togethers and wine with the view of the ocean while you watch out for the dolphins at dusk.
If you feel like a change of scenery, balconies on the other side make great viewing for the amazing sunsets over the sound.
Everything we needed was there and the town Duck is adorable with quaint little shops and everything from fine dining restaurants to great North Carolina barbeque.
The beaches remind me of Maui with the type of white powder sand you can really sink into.
As you can tell, I can't say enough about the place and the entire experience.
For those of you interested in outdoor/adventure, we also took a fun kayak trip and hang gliding behind a plane, we plan on doing the deep sea fishing next trip.
Highly recommended!

Los Gatos CAAbosolutly our best family vacation!!
Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in July 2011
My family has been staying in this home every summer for the past seven years. This luxury home is beautiful and located in one of the most desired areas in the Outer Banks. We have had up to fourteen people stay with us and never felt a shortage of space. The home is very well maintained. Any problem we have ever encountered was taken care of right away. I love cooking in the gourmet kitchen. It is fantastic and is equipped with everything you need. The home has something for everyone from young children to older adults, home theater, pool table, game room, large living areas to relax or you can walk out the back door to the private beach or out the front door to the pool. In the evening we would choose from one of several decks to watch the ocean waves or the sunset over the sound. If you ever leave the house, there is a lot to see and do in the Outer Banks. You could head north to the wild horse reserve, you can tour several lighthouses in the area or you can see where the Wright Brother's first flight took place. There are also some great golf courses in the area. We have stayed in some great spots, but I have to say this is on the top of our list. We have absolutely fallen in love with OBX and Both-Sides-Now. We will be back next year.

lexington, maThis is an amazing place to retreat, recover, rest, enjoy, share
Left on 06/03/2012 for a stay in August 2011
This beautiful home offers the unique opportunity to have waterfront views from both sides of the house-- one out to the bay-- and of course right out to the beach of the Outer Banks
Our arrangements to access the home were easy and clear. The house is beautifully appointed and has everything you could possibly need. We enjoyed local restaurants (one of the best within walking distance) in addition to preparing wonderful meals in the kitchen.
It was fabulous to get into the surf-- and then spend later in the day floating in the quiet of the pool. There is terrific outdoor deck spots for reading, resting, dining in the shade or the sun.
If you are the kind of person who might appreciate a little work time while escaping to the beach, the Tower Office has a great view-- and allows you to retreat to a room with a view and ample space/amenities to be productive.
This home is more than ample for two-three families-- and we relished in our stay with our family of four. Home theater, pool table, library, in addition to boats, pool floating all provide hours of entertainment.

Truly a fabulous place to vacation! This home has everything you need. The location is outstanding. A perfectly situated walkway from the home takes you straight to a wonderful uncrowded beach. You can enjoy sunbathing, water activities, walks along the beach and shell collecting with the convenience and amenities of the beach house just steps away. This home can easily accommodate large families or groups without ever feeling crowded. The house has plenty of space to quietly read a book or watch a movie in the theater room. Meanwhile friends and family can play pool, go in the jacuzzi or dolphin watch. The kitchen design is spacious - you can enjoy the beautiful views from both sides while you gather and cook. You can enjoy a sunrise breakfast on the beachside decks and a sunset dinner on the sound side decks. You can also have fun in the large pool or water activities at the sound. Whether you like to shop the local stores, go for a bike ride, explore lighthouses, jet ski, kayak or just enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the views, you will not be dissapointed by this home or the location. We have enjoyed staying at this beach house three times and can't say enough about it and the great times we've had here!

Left on 05/17/2012 for a stay in June 2011
This beautiful house is located at the north end of the town of Duck in a spectacular setting at one of the narrowest parts of the Outer Banks. The land is just a few hundred feet wide between the ocean and the sound, enough for just a single string of houses.
As one of the tallest houses in the area, the views from the many decks are spectacular; watch the sun rise out of the ocean with morning coffee on one side of the house, and watch it set into the sound on the other with evening drinks. The master bedroom suite on the top floor has views on three sides to the ocean, sound, and south towards the town of Duck
Since 2005, our family has spent a couple of weeks every summer in this house. It has become our special place to leave the turmoil of everyday and to relax and reconnect. We invite close friends and extended family to join us, and we have had 15+ staying very comfortably in the house.
The Outer Banks is a great family vacation destination with many activities (windsurfing, kayaking, jet skiing, sport fishing, golf) and interesting destinations (Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kitty Hawk, Lost Colony theater in Manteo).
If you're looking for a relaxing time with family and friends, there is little reason to leave this extraordinary setting and house. Everything is right here; the beach and ocean just steps away, a short walk to a pier on the sound for kayaking or crab catching, a huge pool, hot tub on the deck, movie theater, and many living spaces to be together or to find a quiet place to read.
It is a place to enjoy nature and be close to it from the comfort of a luxurious house. We like to take a long walks on the miles-long beach in the cool mornings, and find shells the ocean has delivered during the night. One can see pelicans flying in formation skimming the ocean waves, dolphins swimming close to shore, or watch an egret dive into the ocean, catch a fish, and fly away with it grasped in its talons. -

Everything you need for a wonderful luxurious holiday! The "Honeymoon Suite" upstairs with glorious sunrise views and private deck over the ocean and "to die for" spa tub; the "Queen Room" with steam shower en suite and hot tub outside on the massive wraparound decks. Everything is appointed for the traveller used to, and expecting luxury. The "Hawaiian Room" with it's en suite and private deck, with the nearby massive room with a Queen bed and two double trundles for the kids. Also the Twin bedroom and office bedroom. The kitchen with a massive Side by Side fridge freezer, wine coolers, and large gas range, and the largest table I have ever seen that accomodated a large crab and corn feast dinner for our gang easily in the adjacent great room! The flatscreen TV in the family room off the kitchen is very convenient, but I believe there are flatscreen Tv's in every bedroom. Also great is the kids game room with a large flatscreen, pool table, card table, books and board games. Not to mention the well appointed formal living room with deep comfy sofas and sliding doors for privacy. Have I mentioned the home theatre room for those movie nights with the comfy recliners. The house was very clean, great linens and bedding, and the elevator so indispensable for moving groceries and kids. There was even a spare fridge and freezer and ice maker in the garage area. The pool area was very clean, and also outside showers and boardwalk to the viewing platform overlooking the ocean which had storage for Boogie boards, chairs, and sand toys. What we liked most were the luxurious furnishings, the convenience of separate wings that let our crowd spread out but could accomodate us all when we wanted to spend time together for meals, etc. Having rented previously in the area, there is no comparison as this house has it all and more! Being close to Duck was very convenient and central.
