"Sound Waves" formerly "Tierra del Sol" is a delightful Beach House Resort that sits high on a dune with panoramic views of the ocean and sound. Located 3 lots back (150 yards) from the Oceanfront and about a minute's walk to the beach.

We loved the pool and large back yard, only a couple yards from the beach. Very clean and up dated. Great for families with children of any age. the crows nest on the roof was a really hit, with views of the ocean and sound.

The house, once we cleaned it was wonderful! Plenty of room for 4 couples with different likes and dislikes. Nice layout and privacy if you want it. Having laundry available a plus! Kitchen and eating area great! Great for not having a ton of traffic but close to many tourist areas and shopping. Beach was fantastic! Love the location! 1 television on the rainy day was difficult.
Very disappointed in the cleaning company (carpet needed recleaned kitchen wiped down)and the manager we were in contact with from Kitty Hawk Rentals. The inspector was very nice and listened to our concerns. -

My family and I found this home welcoming and enjoyable. We did rent a gas grill and a crib for the week but the house does have a pack-n-play and a charcoal grill. It was close to the beach, kid friendly, clean, and well taken care of. We especially loved the backyard and pool!

Lovely view of the beach. Great weather. Unfortunetly the smoke from the swamp fire at Stumpy Point kept us inside several of the days.

This is a great house which we had rented twice before and really enjoyed. The house is well equipped, has a great pool and location is near the beach with good sound views. On our third stay, it was clear that basic maintenance has declined and in particular the weekly cleaning crew did a very poor job. Large amounts of cobwebs were notable everywhere, both inside and outside; the yard and drive areas were left messy and with trash; the pool bathroom was dusty and dirty; the pool umbrella was broken; bedspreads were stained; closet door and vertical blinds in the queen master bedroom were both broken; carpets were dingy. As always, we had a great time at the Banks, but we were disappointed with this letdown in upkeep.

House had way too many spiders all over the place. When we arrived the pool was nasty cloudy and pea soup green - it took 3 days for it to clear up after we called the pool service. Also, cleaners were not finished at 4pm which meant we checked in the house later than we wanted. The hot tub would not go above 98 degrees.

The house was perfect for our needs. We loved getting up and going straight out to the beach. We had wonderful neighbors and enjoyed our stay. We had a great week! I don't want to recommend to anyone because I don't want to limit my chances for staying here again. Actually I would over and over again.

House is down toward the end of the Outer Banks so nice and quiet. This was one of 4 houses so not lots of people. House is clean. Mattresses are bad, need new ones. Only 2Tv's and no internet hookup. Great view of ocean, great beach, great deck with chairs. Restaurants and stores a short drive. Would gladly go back!
