The location was excellent and enjoyed the Sanderling Community. Great view of the ocean and perfect walking distance to the beach. The house, however, needed some attention. Although it appears some updating has been done (i.e. kitchen), we least liked the bedrooms- the bedroom furniture was old and outdated. The lower floor was musty smelling and air conditioning was not working properly. There was a spider problem in bedrooms and bathrooms. The dark wood paneling made the house seem dark and outdated.

location was great , close to the boardwalk to get to the beach, lots of trees and good area to take a walk on shady streets. service was good, air conditioer was down for 24 hour downstairs, circuit breaker was off. the house was clean, nothing outstanding, kitchen was clean and contained everything needed appliances,average, home was as expected for price, best was location, beach access, parking was limited with driveway for three cars, had to backout each others cars to get out each time. altogether good experience

I have rented vacation homes in Duck and Corolla for eighteen years using Resort Realty. The cottages are always clean, comfortable, and the customer service is unmatched. This home is a jewel in a wonderfully quiet oceanside neighborhood. The floor plan and extensive decking allows for comfort and privacy whether there are two or eight guests. The two features that I like about this cottage are the kitchen and the decks. The kitchen is well equipped and just the right size. The decks are wonderful - front and back so you can follow the sun throughout the day if you are a sun worshiper. The house is a very short distance to the boardwalk which has a minimal number of stair steps.

Sanderling is my fav place to stay at the beach, but this house was not. While the trees and shrubbery make Sanderling beautiful, this house was "overgrown" with shrubs and trees that extended onto the house. As a result, the house had a lot of bugs, mostly spiders. Poorly equipped kitchen, broken blender, uncomfortable beds, poor drainage in bathroom. The location was great, though. Resort Realty service was very cold, almost uncaring, not rude, just not pleasant either.

Had you let us know about the broken blender or the poorly equipped kitchen we would have responded by replacing the blender and providing you with the kitchen utensils you needed.
We have provided this information to the management staff and the owner so that these issues will be resolved before our next renter. The owner was advised of your comments regarding the bedding.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Except for getting a little too much sun the first day, our vacation was perfect. We found this rental to be clean and have all the comforts of home. It is in a nice location, steps from the beach and the Duck Path. Our favorite activity was renting a jeep in Corolla and driving on the dunes looking for wild horses.

I was disappointed to enter Gavannaugh and be overwhelmed by the smell of moth balls. Then to find the dead spider on the bed, a dead bug in the sink, and aonther spider in the bedroom downstairs, as well as dead bugs on the window sills, made me question my choice. It appeared as if the house had not been opened / cleaned prior to my rental (perhaps a cursory cleaning was done after the last rental - when??) I loved the location, and layout, and would consider staying there again. Is there a discount for second year stays?
