We absolutely loved our stay in Duck at My Tern. We have four children ranging from age two up to a couple teenagers. The location and house offered many options for our wide range of likes. The quaint, not commercialized, village of Duck is just a block away one way, and the other way is the beach about a block and a half away. Directly across the street is Schooner Ridge fitness center which has a kiddie pool, indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, playground, and more. We chose not to rent a home with a pool because of concerns about our two year old, so the fitness center gave us a perfect option. As many other reviewers have stated the home is loaded with games, movies, kitchen utensils, and all the beach toys and supplies you should need. Check-in and check-out also were very easy and literally took seconds. If we return to the Outer Banks someday we would definitely try to stay at My Tern again.

This was our third year in the Outer banks. My children are all older now and in previous years we stayed in nags head, but from now on will absolutely be staying in Duck! This house was perfect. You are right across the street from the club house, where you could swim, workout or play tennis. We were only a few blocks one way to the beach or the other way to shopping and resturants. By staying at My Tern you really never have to use your car. The house itself was unbelievable. It is stocked with everything you could ever want. Movies, books and games for every age group, beach chairs and toys to use. You could even go fishing if you wanted because all the supplies were there. There are even bikes for the children to use. My family said there is no reason to ever stay anywhere else. This house and community are perfect. Renting from resort realty was also very easy. Everything was done on line and when we arrived at 5:30 are package was ready with a map and directions to the house...
We can't wait for our next vacation to my tern. -

Fully equipped kitchen, boogie boards, sand chairs and toys were most appeciated. We loved being right across from the rec center and a short walk to the ocean or shops.

The only problem we encountered was that there had been a leak in one of the rooms from the air conditioner. When we arrived part of the carpet was out of the room and two big blowers were working. We were not informed of this inconvenience at the time we checked in. Not the fault of the desk clerk. It was determined that better communication is needed between custodial service and the Duck office personnel. The problem was finally corrected on Tuesday, a little late.
The house itself was well-equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation. -

My husband and I traveled to Duck with our four children and their grandparents. Everything about the house was as described. We were very pleased with the house, the accomodations, etc. The house was super clean. The aC worked very well, the grill functioned perfectly.
The house offered great bonuses like bikes, boogey boards, an extensive DVD and video collection for adults and kids.
The proximity to the community center and the village of Duck was great. It would be nice to have been a little bit closer to the beach, but all the pro's definitely outweighed this one con. We loved it! -

The home was absolutely terrific. We could not have asked for more. There was lots of movies and games for the children. Also lots of beach toys, chairs-everything you would need on the beach. The location was really nice. It was a short walk to the beach and right across from the community center which made it easy for my boys to go to. The kitchen was loaded with everything you could think of. My mother said it had more things in it than her kitchen. The only thing I did not care for was having to vacuum and sweep the floors before I left. It took away from my last evening there but everything else was fantastic.

We love Schooner Ridge and this home lived up to our expectations. Close to
clubhouse, pool, and easy walk to the beach. Home was very clean, well
furnished, with stocked kitchen, and beach equipment. I would absolutely stay
there again! -

Our vacation to My Tern this summer was the best one we've had. Check in
and check out procedures were a breeze. This house had enough to keep all
of the kids happy from ages 2 to 15. They had everything from Legos to wake
boards. The kitchen was tremendously stocked with dishes and cookware.
And with the sheets and towels being included in the rental we didn't have to
pack a thing! Being right across the street from the rec center was so
convenient. And it was close enough to both the beach and the shops that we
could walk or bike where ever we wanted. The best thing about our stay in My
Tern was that all the amenities made it feel better than home. We didn't want
to leave! The only thing we had a problem with was connecting to the wireless
internet. But with internet access at the rec center this was easily remedied. -

Outstanding is the best way to describe this home and the time we spent there. We thoroughly every aspect of the is home and the ammenities offered. The layout, bathrooms, decks and furnishings were neat, clean and in proper working order.
It's proximity to the beach was convenient and walking was certainly enjoyable. However, if you had "a bunch" of things (cooler, etc.) to take it was rather lenghty and if you loaded your junk in the car you quickly learned parking was at a premium.
The only thing, which was not really a negative, was the web cite photo's originally shown had one picture of the beach and a gazebo intermingled with other pictures making it appear the residence was right on the beach. This was quickly over looked when one realized everything else offered.
In all honesty this was one of the best "land based" vacations we have ever had.

This is our 12th year at "My Tern"! Our family loves the home, its location - a short walk to the ocean - and the wonderful recreation facilities the Schooner Ridge community provides. Over the years, Resort Reality has always responded in a timely manner to our requests for service from a refrigerator breaking down to locating a wild animal who took up residence in the ceiling of the car port. "My Tern" has served our family well over the years. Our grandchildren are all teenagers now having grown up for two weeks every summer in "My Tern". Sadly, we may need to consider a larger home to house our growing family.
