VirginiaBeach Week
Left on 06/28/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We have stayed in the OBX for 14 years, 1st time at this house. Location is great to be in the center of Duck. The driveway is long making it seem very private. The private deck to the beach is short. The pool & hot tub are perfect after days spent on the beach. The view are perfect for sitting on the deck watching the dolphin & pelicans. The bathrooms are smaller & basic, but there is one in every bedroom & the top floor has double sinks. The kitchen is sufficient. We were 2 families of 4 & 1 couple & although the hallway & stairs felt tight, living space was nice. The king bedroom & 1 queen bedroom on the mid level are the only bedrooms with ocean views. The Wifi is not the greatest if you have to work from your laptop. We wish we had known so we could have brought our hotspot. Obx vacations never disappoint & this year was no different!

OBX Lovers
Louisville KYExceeded Our Expectations
Left on 09/21/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We have been vacationing at OBX for nearly 20 years. This is, by far, the nicest home at which we have stayed. The description on Resort Realty's website does not fully cover the homes features, which include a fantastic whole house sound system. We honestly can't think of one thing I'd change. In fact, after enjoying Retreat for just 3 days, we visited the Resort Realty office and reserved it for 2012.

Madison HeightsI found heaven on earth.
Left on 10/31/2010 for a stay in September 2010
As before, we thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Retreat. Our extended family this year included 3 young children. They enjoyed running from the "cold pool" to the ocean and the "warm pool". The media room was a hit with the adult males of our group.
One of the reasons that we continue to rent the Retreat is the cleanliness and convenience of the property. We never need to bring any kitchen, bath or bedroom items. They are all provided for us. We are within walking distance of wonderful shops and grocery stores as well as restaurants and entertainment. We love the setting in a quiet cul de sac.
We noticed that the decor had been updated since our last visit. It was just lovely. Loved the button pictures!
There is not one thing that I would change about this property. I vacation for relaxation only and the Retreat meets all of my expectations from the ease of access on check in day to the same on check out day. Thank you for all of your communications with us before our arrival. Everything was very professionally done.
A very special thank you for the shopping bags and the coffee. Everytime that I use the bags, I remember our wonderful week at Duck. We plan many more in the coming years. Thank you! -

Retreat is a very comfortable home with great access to the beach and a nice pool. It is located in an upscale neighborhood in Duck and was centrally located so getting to Corolla or going south to kitty Hawk was convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Ashburn, VAGreat Location, Great Home
Left on 09/10/2009 for a stay in August 2009
Beautiful views of the ocean; easy, direct access to the beach; and within walking distance of the center of Duck. The home was clean when we arrived with all linens/towels available for us to use, and it was so nice to be able to access the home at 12 noon! The beds were comfortable and the living areas nicely furnished and decorated. Our kids loved the media room for watching videos. The floor in the kids' bunk bed bathroom needs work, because it appears to have experienced some water damage or perhaps a sewage overflow and the bathroom smells. The VHS player in the kids' bunk bedroom ate our VHS tape and needs to be replaced. It was nice to have two coffee makers, but one needs to be replaced because the warming plate is badly burned and crusty. The left back burner on the stove wasn't working, but the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, dishes, etc. More small-size glasses and a broiler pan would help. The pool was great! One of the jets on the hot tub was broken, but otherwise it worked fine. It would be nice to have some tall chairs on the top deck. So, there were some issues, but overall, we had a wonderful experience at "Retreat," we would recommend it to others, and we would stay there again.

Appreciate fact that you can enter the home at noon on your day of arrival, appreciate the gifts provided and the linen service with towels.
Location was great to view the ocean but we found the beach more crowded than we are use to in OBX.
Media room was cool especially on the days it rained, but it would be nicer with a bathroom on that level and even better with a kitchenette on the same level.
Bedrooms were smaller than we are use to, but their lay out was good. Hot tub and pool are nice. Never did find the switch to turn on the underwater pool light and after the second night did not have lights around the pool on the fence. We felt maintenance was slow in responding to our calls and should have at least visited the house while we were there (some of the problem could maybe have been solved by replacing bulbs but that option was not pursued).
Will look into Resort Club rental for next year, but not this house. Overall a satisfactory house.

toms river new jerseywhat a true "RETREAT"
Left on 08/12/2009 for a stay in August 2009
"RETREAT" is a beautiful, well kept house in charming Duck, North Carolina. We were a group of three families, each with 2 children. The fact that every bedroom was a MASTER with its own bathroom, was one of our favorite features. The kids loved the THEATER room with very large screen TV, theater floor lighting and expansive couch for comfortable seating. The pool area/hot tub were pluses. The house is in excellent condition and it is just a treat to sit on the captain's lookout deck and enjoy the ocean view. Our other favorite feature is that it is a RESORT CLUB home. THis means we were able to go directly to the home at noon the day of check in, so we shopped and then went directly to house and unloaded. Simply a pleasure. Only one complaint....needs gas grill. Charcoal just didnt cut it.

Kirkwood nyGreat house!
Left on 07/17/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We absolutely loved the house-all the master suites were great! The only complaint we had was that the jets for pool and hot tub were not working. We called eraly in the week and no one ever showed up to fix it. In fact, a service man showed up to fix a light that the last renters must have called about. The house was wonderful--service, not so much.
