We all had a fabulous time at the Sandpiper's Way. The house was perfect for my family and friends and it was close enough to the beach for us to not feel burdened with all our things and kids on the walk up. The fitness room at the community center was great too. Only thing that was an annoyance was having to wear those blue bracelets to get onto the beach. By the end of the week almost all the kids lost theirs and we were hassled by the beach staff about not wearing them.

Comfortable home for all in our party--ages 3 to 73 with all kitchen items we could have wished for. Added bonus were available bikes, boogie boards & sand toys. Deck furniture was fabulous. Only negative was the screen door from porch to deck--needs to be replaced.
Great Time; intense, unfriendly Schooner Ridge attenants

house was great, beach lovely, life guards were great, Schooner Ridge attendants at beach access and club house were not very friendly or welcoming. I understand a need to keep the beach set aside for Schooner Ridge owners and renters, but they were scowling at even the renters. When you spend a fair amount on rental you want to be welcomed. Would hinder a future visit to this location.
Great early summer vacation.

A very nice house, with excellent kitchen facilities -- so great we decided to cook in every night.
The outside gas grill is at end of lifecycle and needs either major cleanup and overhaul, or preferably replacement. We had to call a couple of times to have it serviced, which was annoying at dinner time. Service call was prompt and satisfactory however.
Otherwise, we completely enjoyed the house and intend to rent it in 2010 for at least a week.

When we arrived at our rental unit, there was a very pungent "cat urine" like smell throughout the house emanating from the basement. Also, the main back screen door and sliding door were out of the track and inoperable. An arm on one of the kitchen chairs was broken, the vertical blinds in the second floor master bedroom (At the end of the hall) were inoperable and we found the chain that turns the blinds laying on top of the television with a pair of pliers laying beside the chain. There were no linens provided in spite of the fact that linens were part of the contract. Finally. the carpet in the top floor living space was extremely dirty (my daughter's white socks turned dark gray in only an hour after our arrival.
To resolve matters, Resort Realty brought in a Carpet Cleaner (gentleman named Ty) Monday AM who did a fine job cleaning the carpets and reducing the smell. We were told by Resort Realty that regular carpet cleaning happens only once a year which is unacceptable for a place with constant traffic. A man came around 8:30 PM to deliver two bags of linens. We have two children one who is only age 3 who normally goes to bed at 8PM. After an all day drive (with no nap) from Pennsylvania, he was beside himself since he could not get to bed until nearly 9PM.
To address the other items, we had to call Resort Realty five times before someone finally showed up mid-morning on Thursday (we called twice on Sunday, once Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) to fix each item. Finally, the lawn and grounds around the house was not at all maintained, the grass was a foot long and there were old items piled on the property making the place look unattractive.
It would have been nice if the owner provided some basic kitchen items, such as tin foil, coffee filters that we have been accustomed to having at other rental properties.

Everyone was very nice at the realty office when we checked in. Also met the gentleman that was cleaning the home and he was friendly too. This is our 2nd year staying in this neighborhood and love it---it is great for the kids. (6th year renting a house) The house was very well stocked---loved having couple of bicycles and wagons since we were not able to bring our own stuff this year since had to scale down to a car. Size of the house was great--my kids loved the futons and actually slept there instead of in a bed. Leaning towards renting again for next year but also looking at a couple of other homes in the same neighborhood---closer to the ocean so can hear it!!!
Thanks and hope to see you next summer!!!

This house came better equipped for a family on vacation than any other house I have rented in Duck. The condition of the house was great and there was plenty of room for our large group. Resort Realty did a fine job turning the house over to us nice and early on Saturday morning.

This was our first time to get the linen service and it was great. Our cleaning service this year was not good, late cleaning and a poor job.
This is not our first time to stay in this house and we are booked for next year. The house is great, lots of space for all 10 of us, lots of games, books and equipment. Schooner Ridge is our favorite place to stay, the aera is perfect for kids, the community building and the pools are perfect for all of our needs.
Resort Realty has always been courteous and helpful.

House was very nice. We really enjoyed the development. It provided a lot of options for everyone. We really enjoyed the pools as well as the fitness room. We only had wished that the house was a little closer to the beach. We also wished there was a bathroom at the beach pool as it was a walk to get back to our house. The kids did use the bikes alot to get too and from the beach. We had parents with us that the walk was too much for.
