Farmville, VABeautiful home with great amenities!
Left on 10/04/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Our group has been going to the Outer Banks for 12 years and Sound Dreams is probably one of the most beautiful homes we have stayed. We enjoyed all the amenities this home had to offer including the heated pool and hot tub. Each morning we could hardly wait to get in the pool and exercise and just have fun! The only negative was the pathway to the beach. It was overgrown, steps were difficult and railing was missing in several places which made it dangerous for some in our group. Otherwise, we had a great time.

The service I received was very good. The home is beautiful and was perfect for our needs. The location was the best of both worlds. I was very lucky with this choice. All of used the pool each day. The hottub was an added comfort. The location of this house made it very easy for us to walk to Duck on a daily basis which blended in with our habit of walking each day. What I liked best about the house is that eveyone had their private space with large areas for gathering in comfort. It was a perfect fit!

See prior submission.Outside paint poor condition with a lot of spiderwebs. Disappointed with the owners maintenance of the property given its luxury status in your marketing of it. Interior need attention as well. Structurally the home had it all but needs love and care. Could be the diamond in the rough we thought it would be. Needs attention.

We want to thank you for taking the time to bring these issues to our attention. We apologize that you were not happy with your accommodations. The owner of this home does plan on making improvements such as you have recommended in the off season.
Thank you for booking your vacation with Resort Realty, and we hope to see you again next year. -

Dallas, TxRelaxation in a beautiful setting
Left on 06/14/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This home was perfect for our stay. The bedrooms were nice and spacious, and having a bathroom in every bedroom made everyone happy. The upstairs eating, kitchen and living room were 3 most used rooms. The views from the living area are fabulous. The decks were great and so was the pool area. The media room and pool room were great extras in the house. We watched movies a couple nights and the sofas were great. The location of the home was perfect, a short distance to Duck and to the Wright Memorial Bridge.
Things I would like to see improved on the home would be the mattresses, you could feel the individual springs. Also, the walkway to the sound had no hand rails which was fine since we were all adults, but I would be worried with children running up and down the walkway. The overgrowth of the area needed trimming and we mentioned that on the first day of our stay and no one came by to trim back the bushes during our week long stay. -

Just wanted to commend Resort Realty for the service they gave us... there were 1 or 2 things that we needed (outside shower didn't work, etc) and they were very quick in responding to requests and with great service - very nice folks. Would recommend Resort Realty to anyone. Great cottage also.

Great location! Kids and adults crabbed and fished all week on the dock. Rented kayaks for the week. The dock kept teens busy all week. The house could have been a bit cleaner. There were spiders webs hanging and dead and live bugs in bedrooms especially room with twin beds.

Accident, MarylandGreat house with everything you need!!
Left on 09/28/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We vacationed for the third time at this house with our 5 kids and both sets of grandparents. There are the right amount of bedrooms for us, as well as everything we wanted in a vacation house. We loved the pool and hot tub. We played the foosball and pool table every day. The entertainment room was really nice, but since the weather was gorgeous every day, we didn't really use it. Everyone appreciated the elevator, especially for luggage and groceries. The bedrooms were all very nice, each with its own full bathroom, which was really nice,as we had 11 people vacationing. The master bedroom and bath were gorgeous. I wish I could take the master bath home with me. Since we ate breakfast, lunch, and over half our suppers at the house, we really liked the exceptionally well stocked kitchen. The dining room table always had enough room for us, and the living room got a lot of use since we played a lot of card / domino games. The house is on the Sound Side, and we had a private dock to walk down to that we fished from and watched the spectacular sunsets. It's only a 1/2 mile drive across the road to the beach access point, and we had a great time spending the day at the ocean, then going back to the house, rinsing off, and jumping in the pool. I rated the house a 4/5 for cleanliness - I think it was mostly clean, but there were some ferocious cobwebs we got rid of before we left, and I know the house was cleaner when we left than when we got there. Having said that, it was our third year in the same house, because of all the extras (like pool and hot tub), the wonderful bedrooms, and the awesome kitchen! I would definatly recommend this house to anyone with children or extended family. Lots of things to do, even when it rains, and lots of space for privacy as well.

My family and I loved and enjoyed our vacation immensely.
The house Sound Dreams was an excellent choice when it came to location, comfort, and amenities, it was beautiful. The only draw back was the many spiders and insects on the decks and the outside of the house, the house could use a good power washing on the outside. I can't say enough about the inside decor and comfort. Also the view from the living room, dining room, and decks of the sound was great.

Left on 09/17/2010 for a stay in August 2010
This home is large and very spacious, ideally situated on a hill for panoramic views of the sound from the third floor and some limited view from the second floor due to trees. There is a small elevator which helps with taking groceries to the 3rd floor kitchen, and also for guests who can't easily use stairs; could probably accomodate a wheelchair. 3 bathrooms have walk-in shower, so that might be easier for some people to enter and exit. Easy access to the sound by walkway with pier for crabbing. Ocean access/beach for the neighborhood is straight across the main street with 5 or 6 parking spaces available in a cul-de-sac. There is also a neighborhood pool and tennis court near the main entrance, which is accessed by a code (we did not go). Loved having a bath in each bedroom and access to pool and outside via deck stairs--no walking through the house wet! Pool is excellent size and clean, hot tub relaxing. Only had a few minor issues...oven locked up in cleaning mode and we had to call maintanence...they were there the same day. Lots and lots of cobwebs in upper reaches of corners and ceilings of common rooms and some bedrooms, cold air returns were coated with thick gray dust, lot of spiders and webs outside around deck, carport, pool. Had to sweep away some webs ourselves, and they would be rebuilt quickly the next day! Perhaps the house needs a powerwash and exterminator preventative spray to repel spiders? Otherwise, loved our representative, Delores, very sweet and helpful, who was there when we checked in. Had a great time, enjoyed very much, wish we could have stayed longer! Overall, an excellent rental. There were 10 in our party.

Left on 09/01/2010 for a stay in August 2010
Our vacation was relaxing and wonderful. The house was clean and well equipped. The pool was clean and inviting. We loved the private pier. The stairs and walkway to the pier were a little long, but it helped get our exercise in for the week. The proximity to Duck Village was great. We would definatley recommend the house to everyone.

We had a great time at Sound Dreams. The location is awesome, the large wooded lot provided many opportunities to view the local wildlife. The fishing from the dock on the sound was good, we even caught a nice red drum for dinner one evening. The heated pool was enjoyed most every evening. Sound Dreams is large enough for any or all to disappear to a quiet corner to read or just plain relax, a very comfortable home.

Accident, MarylandAwesome home with lots to do, regardless of weather, plus a pier
Left on 09/30/2009 for a stay in September 2009
This is the second year we've stayed in Sound Dreams, and we plan on going again. The house was exceptionally well thought out, with an amazing kitchen that was well stocked. The bedrooms were very, very nice, with a bathroom for each bedroom, with additional bathrooms on the top and bottom floors. Our whole family loved the pool table, foosball, and theater room on the ground floor. Since we took both sets of grandparents, the kids always had someone to play with. Our twin 3 years olds, along with the rest of the family, LOVED the hot tub and pool. After an exciting day at the beach, it was so nice to go swimming in a perfectly sized pool, then relax in the hot tub. Another reason to visit again was the private pier that led to the sound side. The guys all went fishing every morning, and most evenings. We had fantastic weather this year, but even when the weather doesn't cooperate, there is so much space and things to do in this home, that everyone can have an enjoyable and relaxing time, no matter what. It was also very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the home, though the dryer didn't do such a great job. I did mention that in the paperwork when we left, so it most likely should be resolved. Oh - I should also mention that the beach was a very short drive, about 2 minutes away, and we always had a great time playing in the sand and waves. If you have a large family, or are vacationing with extended family, Sound Dreams is a wonderful choice. We all had plenty of space, and lots of wonderful memories. We will be staying here again.

Yorktown, VAWe Had It All
Left on 09/09/2009 for a stay in August 2009
This house provided us with much to do despite the cloudy week. Inside, a huge table to accomodate multiple games, game room, theater room, and TV downstairs where we connected our WII. Outside, the pool, hot tub and the private pier for fishing and crabbing. We also rented a kayak for the week. Watch out for snakes! We drove to the beach side and during our last week of August, never had trouble getting a parking place. Resort Realty also provided extra parking passes for our large crew. Never thought an elevator would be necessary, but put it to good use moving in, moving out, and hauling groceries. The only drawback was in the kitchen. We often had need of something that just wasn't supplied, like pot holders! There were great views of the sound and an all-around pleasant stay.

Cambridge, MAGreat views in private setting
Left on 08/26/2009 for a stay in August 2009
The house was beautiful and had a great view of the sound. The house is on the top of a hill and has a long stairway going down to the sound with a long boardwalk through a heavily wooded area until it comes out to the beach. The boardwalk extends out to the pier where there are benches built in. Although hot during the day, the pier was beautiful to sit on and watch the sunset as it would get breezy at night. If someone has trouble walking or is disabled, it would be extremely difficult to get down there though. Also, bring the flashlight with you if you're going to be out there after dark. The stairway is lighted but it's a long walk back until you see the lights. The house was very roomy for us and the pool was in great shape. There were only minor issues though. The side door on the middle level didn't lock and someone didn't come out to look at it until the day before we left. Also the door outside at the pump house for the pool didn't shut properly and the wind would blow it open. We had a quick passing storm one day and there was a leak near the telescope on the top level. I don't know if it was a leak through the roof or more likely through the caulking in the window. All of that was extremely minor though and didn't impact us in any way. The house has a neighbor to the left side as you look at the house but it's pretty private. We hardly ever saw the people living there. The house comes with a parking pass for the other side of Bias Shores so you can drive to the beach. It was also only a 5 minute walk to the beach. We loved the vacation and plan to return next year.

Richmond, VAFAMILY REUNION
Left on 08/06/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We decided to have a family reunion when we found out one of our members would be back in the US for a short time after being overseas for several years. We've stayed in very nice homes before, and this one was picked hastily, mainly becasue of it's size. Everything was better than expected.
The view was absolutely incredible. We loved being able to kayak in the sound from our own pier and didn't mind the short distance to the ocean. The pool was great and the house was just perfect.
Having 2 dishwasheds was especially nice for our
large party.
Thanks!! -
