Great location..easy walk to beach or "downtown" Duck. House was perfect for us:
* loved the privacy of house and pool
* loved the heated pool...perfect temperature, even on cool days/nights
* loved the hot tub
* pool bath and showers a plus!
* all bedrooms with private bath a definite plus!
* huge TV on level 1 was great for the video gamers in our family
Home décor kind of "old" (beddings, furniture), but that didn't bother us.

My family of 17 people and one beagle had a wonderful time at Barefoot Inn. The house was lovely and the great room on the top floor was large enough for the entire family to hang out together. There were lots of chairs and an extra dining table where we could work jigsaw puzzles without using our main dining room table. The house was well equipped and it was nice having so many bathrooms. We found owner's manuals and instructions for most kitchen appliances and television equipment. We hope to visit Duck again some time. This is our third trip to the Outer Banks and we've stayed at Duck each time. We have also stayed at a Southern Shores rental property each time. Thanks for everything.

We liked the house. We had several issues with sheets not being on beds when we got there. One bed and bedspread had never been changed. We found cracker crumbs in the sheets and it smelled like dogs. The sink had coffee stains in it, which we cleaned before we used it. We loved the fact that the house had bathrooms for each bedroom. Our four children and our grandchildren used the house. There was plenty of room to be together but room to get away from each other. Nice quiet street, liked being able to walk into Duck.

Barefoot Inn was wonderful in so many ways. It was beautifully decorated, huge, pool/hottub, close to beach, amazing porches with views of the stars.
So great that the owners shared their beach chairs and things.
Can't say enough good things about the place. Lots of privacy, Great driveway for kids to scooter ride.
Would love to come back sometime.

The house was perfect for our Outer Banks vacation. The house was beautifully furnished. We loved swimming in the pool, using the hot tub, and walking to the beach. We appreciated having shade by the pool, outdoor tables for lunch, and wifi. Although it's simple, I really appreciated the clotheslines and clothespins for drying towels and swimsuits. The beach chairs were a great help. The kitchen was very well stocked - we used the crock pot and the garlic press. Only one missing item: a pizza cutter. Our only complaint is that the screened in porch was not screened - I guess since we were there late in the season. All in all we had a great vacation.

This is a lovely home with lots to space for a
family to either hang out together or be in little groups doing their own thing. Gorgeous
views. Near enough to the beach to see a sunrise
after a very short walk -- well worth it.
We were very pleased with this house. We had 15 people and 3 dogs in here and there was plenty of room. The house has a very nice basement kitchen/family room area that is great for families or teens: no stove but has another refrigerator, sink and microwave along with its own set of dinnerware. Sheets and towels were provided, but I would suggest bringing more towels.
The pool is very nice as are the outside showers (there are 2).
The view from the top porch is very nice as long as they dont build another house in the field in front.
Short walk to the beach made it easy to take all of our kids' gear with us.
All of the rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. The only caveat to that is there are 3 sets of bunk beds (2 in one room and 1 in another), great if there are a lot of kids, but not so great if there are more adults.

this is a very nice home. The decks are large but have no furniture! A couple of OLD Plastic chairs. It would be nice to have a table to eat on and some nice deck furniture to enjoy the view.
Well supplied Kitchen. Love the fact all rooms have own bath. Nice quite street, the walk to the beach makes you climb up and down stairs to get over the sand dunes. So hauling things to the beach gets old.
I'd give it an A if they take care of the decks - LACK of furniture.
