We absolutely loved the house...our first time renting this one. We've always rented on a Sunday to Sunday basis and although there is traffic, it is tolerable. This was the first time we ever rented Saturday to Saturday and it was horrendous!!! May have deterred us from coming back for quite some time. Something needs to be done. The last 17 miles onto the Outer Banks took 3 hours!!! We even left our home extra early to beat some of the traffic. Something needs to be done to alleviate this backup!! May need to stagger check-in days differently. Otherwise, we absolutely loved the house and would definitely want to return at some point. Thank you.
Great house! We loved the pool which was perfect for post-beach swims. All rooms were very comfortable, and the location was ideal, a short jaunt to the beach (5 min) and a slightly longer walk to shops and restaurants.

The house was all that we expected and more. The pool, jacuzi, and putting green were fabulous. It was a great location close enough to the beach where you didn't have to "work" to walk to the beach. The house had everything that you needed --a small library of books in the loft, movies for the kids, games, box matches, charcoal, lighter fluid for the grill, great pots and pans for the kitchen, HD TV with a good surround sound stereo system. Really, the house had it all. We wanted for nothing!
The only "negative" things (and these things really did not affect us much) were: (1) the T.V. in the upstairs master bedroom did not work (at least we couldn't figure it out), (2) the tub in the second floor master bathroom did not drain that well, and (3) the boards on the deck upstairs were a little worn, resulting in a splinter or two on bare feet.
Overall, it was great and we are definitely thinking of renting again next year!

We loved this house and its' location. It is hard to find a really nice house that sleeps 8. Most with the type of ammenities this house had sleep 14 or 16 people. We loved the kitchen and the appliances. The cookware was also nice. The kids loved the house and the LCD TVs were great. We will rent this house again if available.

We arrived and all beds were made (except one :-( ) but we made due. This house has enough room to accomodate 9 with the pullout trundle below the pyramid bunk. We loved the location of the home......an easy walk to the beach and short stroll to all the shops. The pool area was great and we really utilized the poolside speakers and had fun using the putting green as well. Since I'm somewhat tall, the only drawback if you want to call it that is that there are not any king size beds in the house.........but all the beds were very comfortable. We're definitely planning on staying here in the future.

We have stayed on this street before and love the location but wanted to be closer to the beach and have pool access from the deck-features our last rental did not have. This was an excellent choice! Very comfortable floor plan provided space and privacy as well as great community space. The back yard was GREAT!! The house was well equipped (but the silicon potholders in place of oven mitts are not a good choice)We would love to stay in this house again but need to finalize our schedules and determine if we can make arrangements for our new dog as this house does not allow dogs. The kids missed having a rec room type space but weather was great everyday so it didn't really cause an issue- in the pool and hot tub or on the beach.

We spent a wonderful week at the Barefoot Lodge Beach House and had a wonderful time. This is the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home instead of a hotel...and it was perfect. The beach was just a short walk down the road. Everything was in order when we arrived, and we were pleased to
learn that the pictures online matched the home perfectly! The rooms were neat and clean and very welcoming. The kitchen was nicely supplied and we were able to cook most of our meals at the house. Our blender was not working correctly...we called the Mgmt office and within 2 hours we had a new blender at our front door. We spent many lovely nights cooking out and enjoying the evening by the lighted pool and deck. We'd definitely recommend this house. We went home actually feeling relaxed and ready for life again. Would love to go back next year.

Our family had a wonderful time at Barefoot Lodge - the accomodations were spacious, everything was new, fresh and inviting, and the owners did everything to make us feel welcome! We especially enjoyed the mini-golf in the backyard for the kids. :)
I would highly recommend the Barefoot Lodge to any family looking for a relaxing vacation in Duck.

Loved the home and found the yard, hot tub, putting green and pool most enjoyable. We spent every evening in the sun room playing game and enjoying cocktails. My only wish is for the owners to consider a King size bed. This home was in the very best location with a super short walk to town.

We have stayed at the Barefoot Lodge twice now and hope to do so again. The location is perfect, especially if you have older children who want a bit of autonomy. It is equal distance (about 300 yards) from the beach in one direction and from the charming shops of Scarborough Faire in another. Our kids and their friends loved being able to walk to and spend some time at the shops and we felt safe letting them do so.
The property is comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully maintained. The owners have put a lot of thought into the furnishings. This is a wonderful place to spend an Outer Banks vacation!
