Nice quick walk to the beach. Cozy spot for one or two families. There were so many convenient things about this house from kitchen and beach supplies to kiddie gates, bikes, games etc. The master suite was so nice. Screened in porch and pool/hot tub were perfect for us. Only thing I could say negatively was that we found a lot of ants in the living room and master bathroom. Nowhere else though. Our trip got cut short due to an ill family member we were so bummed to leave.
Comfortable, private, very convenient. Splendid place.

We were 3 siblings in our 40's/50's, my husband, and my 2 nephews in their 20's. Everyone really enjoyed the vacation. Duck is very convenient to Kitty Hawk and farther south.
The pictures to not really do the place justice, although I can see why the owners found it hard to take them. The main picture shows the house from the street, but we found the pool and hot tub very private, as just to the right of the fence there are high bushes along the road and actually surrounding the property. The main living area is L-shaped, with 2 sitting areas separated by a large, comfortable dining table. The main TV is tucked behind the stairs, so that the noise is contained. The screened porch is small but very pleasant.
I can't describe how well equiped the kitchen is. Not high end, but rather great variety. One could easily cook Thanksgiving for 20. The range has a ceramic top and a very large oven. We found the deep fryer excellent for the 44 blue fish we caught. They had gadgets even I don't have!
Having 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor was very nice and hard to find. Both are large, with the master very large. The bedrooms upstairs are smaller, but there is a very nice TV room in between them. There are small balconies everywhere, although one of the doors did stick.
The washer/dryer is in the master bedroom, which was only slightly inconvenient. There are a plethora of beach and pool toys and 2 or 3 beach chairs and a folding chaise. The pool area has lots of wooden furniture. The bikes were a little worse for wear, but we did use 2 to get to the market.
Bayberry Bluffs is very private. We walked almost every night, of course the stars are extremely bright out on the islands. Maison de Mer is located about half-way between 12 and the beach. They have a beach cart but we didn't use it, since the beach was close. The neighborhood maintains a dumpster at the walkway to the beach, very handy for doggie poo bags.

This was our third year in this home. It is in a great location in Duck. The home has a good layout with great amenities. The kitchen is large and easy to work in. We did notice several broken items this year. I hope the same care that was put into the renovation of the house is used to keep it in great shape.

this property was very beautful and clean inside and out. The location to the beach was super and the privacy of the pool was great. The kitchen was amazing it had everything you could possible need for anything you would want to cook or serve. It could have used a better blender or ice crusher for frozen drinks and milkshakes.Deffinaitly a famly home! great for teens or little ones. A few down sides, theres no ocean or sound view, maybe a small one if some trees were maybe cut off. We battled with ants the whole week, lost alot of food the first night because we left it on the kitchen counter, called maintence that morning did not get a call back, called the office and had to tell the story to 3 different people before anyone could confirm someone would be out. The guy that came out was super nice, put out traps and gave us spray but even spraying everyday we could'nt leave anything out on the counters all week. Also the pool guy came on wednesday to clean the pool and hot tub and emptied the hot tub and put the hose in to refill it and said he would be back and did'nt come back till the following day , so we went 2 days without the hot tub till it heated back up. Overall we would rent it again but next year we are looking to rent something bigger and on the water on the sound side.

This rental property was exactly as it is described. It is quaint and cute
and it was perfect for my wife and I and our 9 mos. old daughter. We
had multiple visitors from the commonwealth of VA - and slept
comfortably 6 adults with a room still available for the baby.
Definitely a family home and a GREAT place to call home during our
stay. KID FRIENDLY!

We had a restful stay at the tastefully decorated Maison De Meir. Bedrooms on 2 floors allow for privacy. The kitchen is well stocked and the pool was an extra plus. The pool cleaned before our stay and mid-week. We will return.

We chose this house because it is down the street from where our youngest son lives. He actually looked at it while i was on line and said it would be a good spot. We've vacationed on the outer banks for years and love it, so much so, our youngest son now lives in duck.
The house was perfect for us. Our grown children had a blast "playing" games in the pool. I enjoyed the kitchen (yes, i love to cook for large groups)!
The location was perfect for us. We could ride our bikes just about anywhere we needed or wanted to go.
