      We Love this house

Left on 09/13/2009 for a stay in August 2009

This is our 2nd time at SoundBanker and we love it. The house is lovely and perfectly appointed. We also love being right on the sound .We bring our Kayaks and float about. Since we go in August the weather cam be iffy but we can still swim in the sound even if the ocean is closed. You can also walk to the ocean from the house. The thing we liked least about the house was leaving it.

      Sound Heaven

Left on 08/27/2009 for a stay in August 2009

Though we have stayed on the sound in Duck for over 25 years, we have only spent the last 4 years at Sound Banker. They have been 4 glorious years. What's not to love?
Sunny mornings, firey sunsets and the sounds of nature, right at your backdoor. Shooting stars and a sparkling night sky seen even more brillant out on the dock.
Like the waves of the ocean? The beach is ONE block away. The best of both worlds.
Very bidable and comfortable abode with just about every thing you could ask for, started with a special welcome from the owners.

      Osprey Central

Left on 08/21/2009 for a stay in August 2007

This home is great for 1 large family or 2 small families. The Currituck sound is very restfull although many water activities can be seen and enjoyed - jet ski, para-sailing. We loved the dock and also dropped our crab traps off the dock and caught quite a few - enough to pick and prepare crabcakes! Ocean access is a short 2 block walk and biking into town is easy. Sunsets on the back decks of the home are always enjoyable. And you can't forget the sight of the Osprey as they stalk, catch and eat their 3 meals a day right in plain view. A very memorable vacation!

      Great R&R

Left on 06/11/2009 for a stay in May 2009

We had a wonderful week of kicking back. The sound was a great
place for cooling off as the ocean temps weren't too warm yet and the
water hammock was a neat find. The house was very comfortable and
provided adequate common area as well as the opportunity for private
time if you wanted it. The walk to the oean was a bit long, particularly
since there was a hill on the route and we usually had someone run
the gear over and then take the car home and walk back as there
wasn't parking by the public access paths. The was plenty of good
dining opportunities for the times we didn't feel like cooking.

      Nice Property

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in June 2008

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Sound Banker. It was a good value for its location right on the sound. The views from all of the decks are wonderful. The only downside was the comfort of the deck chairs. They are wooden and not very comfy. Some cushions for the chairs would have added much to the enjoyment of the decks. However, this is by no means a deal breaker.

We have never rented a house or condo with such a well stocked kitchen as this one. The bedrooms, living space, dining room, and kitchen were are above average. We especially enjoyed the dock, canoe, and water float. The shallow water was great to walk in. If we had other people with us, a half bath would have been nice on the top floor. Since it was just the two of us, the master bath served us well.

You can walk into Duck on a walking path out front along the road. The beach is an easy walk up and over the center of the island. The owners sent over a nice food and drink basket one day, which was a nice touch. This is a good property and I would recommend it would rent it again.
