As soon as we walked in, it had that new carpet smell. All carpeting and flooring were new and there is a beautiful granite counter top in the nicely appointed kitchen. Each of the two bedrooms had a full bath. The townhouse is on a semi-private street used just to access the Georgetown Sands town homes so it is very quiet. The beach access is only a short walk down the quiet street. There are several decks to enjoy the outdoors. Even though we did not use them, there were beach chairs and beach umbrellas. The home was very clean and had everything we needed for our week-long vacation. We usually stay approximately 15 miles north in Corolla but prefer spending time in Duck which is where the town home is conveniently situated.

We had a great time. The place was clean and in great shape. There was plenty of room for the six of us, we used the kitchen everyday and had no problems, we did not get in each others way for the entire two week stay. The beach and pool were great and not far from the condo. All in all, a great place to stay for smaller families looking for a less expensive choice.

We enjoined our vacation at Duck. It wasn't until we were there that we realized that you had to be patient when entering the main road as it was a two lane highway and you often had to wait for a break in traffic to get onto it.
Carpet at our vacation rental was in a sad state but we looked past that and enjoyed the beach which was only a short walk away. Better attention to the cleaning of baseboards, ceiling and vents should be made but otherwise it was a clean place. Although we wanted a pool, we didn't use it as the ocean was always inviting. The stairs wouldn't be friendly to people with disabilities. -

The air vents and shower curtains were dirty and moldy. There were no mattress pads on the beds which is very unsanitary. The place really needs some attention. Towels felt like sandpaper. When we arrived after a 12 hr drive- no was no toilet paper left. It would be nice if a small amount of supplies were left for new arrivals until one could get to the store. I would not recommend this condo.

The positive aspects of our Seaside Retreat townhouse in the Georgetown Sands Rd. community were that it was located next to a family who owned their home and therefore were great neighbors; it was nicely positioned next to the pool, tennis courts, the village of Duck, and not too far from the beach. It did offer the basics of what a family of four would need for their stay. The heavy duty, on-site washer/dryer were great.
What I found unacceptable were the cockroaches that we killed (2) and the mold on the vents, shower curtains, and in the toilets. I did call the after-hour maintenance/housekeeping about the cockroaches the first night we arrived, but no one returned my call! The only reason we did not leave, as my husband reasoned, was because we weren't sure if we'd get another unit any better. This was our first time spending less for a beach house because our budget was tighter. It showed!
Seeing those cockroaches made me feel like I had to take extra measures to keep them out of our bags/clothes/food, and I washed clothes daily. Also, we used paper plates, cups, etc. for most of the week. We only used the dishes provided after we washed a load in the dishwasher w/bleach and then rinsed them again before using them. Also, I would wipe the counters each morning, and I cleaned the master toiler twice to remove the mold in the bowl. This worked out well for me and for my friends who visited me for a few of the days I was there. The place needed some minor repairs but I had what I needed, was close enough to the beach (though to be able to see it would have been nice), tennis courts and pool were close and convenient, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the laundry room was very helpful!

The walk to the beach from this property is approximately 10 minutes to the beach. It is true that in Duck and Corolla the main road runs along the soundside. Therefore, any homes located between the road and ocean are referred to oceanside in those areas.

The service from Seaside Vacations was fantastic. Both check in and check out were smooth and simple and the employees were courteous and helpful. The condo as nicely furnished and the aC worked well. Although, we did see what we believed to be a cockroach, but only once and neither of the screen doors were functional making access to the decks a huge pain. The location is great as Duck is a fantastic destination and within walking distance to several restaurants.

They keys you gave us did not work. The unit was sub-standard and not particularly clean. The carpet was buckled and dirty. The dishwasher was broken (and your calls to us about this were on our home phone in WV, not on our cell phones). The house phone was broken for 3 days. The ice maker did not work. Although the community was convenient, the unit was a great disappointment. We feel that you did not always answer our concerns. Our daughter and her family had the unit the following week, and you gave them the wrong keys as well. And, as to the dish washer, when the repairman came, he told us you had been aware of this problem...but why were we not made aware of it? There were many other minor problems...such as one of the burners on the stove was inoperable at first, the mirror in the master bathroom had been sprayed with something, but had not been cleaned...I could go on, but I do not want to seem petty. As a rental company, you should seriously consider taking this property off your roster.

The house was a great fit size wise for our family. However, the extras were not there. Not used to a queen size bed, so sleep was not great. Never really got to enjoy the decks since the view was of the parking lot and the furniture wasn't very comfortable. Having a community pool was nice, but there were not lounge chairs or bathroom facilities. Beach access was close enough to walk there, but when you were at the house you couldn't even see or hear the ocean. Sometimes felt like we weren't even at the beach.
The employees at the realtor were very nice, but the check in procedures stunk. We waited over an hour for the inspector to view our house before the keys were released and then spent 40 minutes in traffic going to Duck. We could have been waiting for the inspector while in traffic and gained an hour! We lost the whole day to traffic and waiting. I don't think I would rent a house in Duck or Corolla again that doesn't have a realtor in the same location. I did love that the linens were provided and the beds were made when we arrived. Could have used a bath mat as part of the towel package. Had to sacrife one of the towels in each bathroom for a mat.

We do our best to get our homes cleaned and inspected as quickly as possible, without sacrificing cleanliness. There are times when we need to be in there longer due to maintenance issues or surprises left from prior guests. Next time, keep in mind that we offer Early Check In for a small fee for homes that are 5 bedrooms and smaller!

This location is in a great location with the pool and beach so close. We did however have a thunder storm and knocked out the tv and phone. After several attempts at requesting that it be fixed, it never did get fixed by the time our vacation was up and this happened on the first day! We were inconvenienced as there are no pay phones to be found in Duck.

A relaxing retreat after a day at the beach. Super convenient place for kids, right next to the pool, a hop skip and a jump away from the beach. It's nice to sit on the deck on a quiet evening. This was our 5th year of staying at this condo!

The condo that we stayed at was great. It was clean and updated, the furniture was comfortable, and there was a fully stocked kitchen for all of our cooking needs. The proximity to the pool and the beach was excellent (albeit a little hot on the blacktop in 90+ degree temps!). We would stay here again on another visit to the outerbanks!

Our condo was a roomy 3 level, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath condo with parking underneath. The outside shower was great for sandy bodies after being at the beach. The washer and dryer were so nice to have, especially the dryer for wet beach towels. It was a short walk to the beach, and the walk into town was pleasant and not too far. The kitchen had everything in it we needed, including a dishwasher. The condo had several balconies and was very quiet. The beach was gorgeous and the pool was big and very nice for a change of pace from the ocean. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here.

A very nice vacation. Our condo was the perfect size for 4 people. The place was spotless upon our arrival, and the covered parking was a plus. The only negative was the distance from the beach. It was about a quarter mile walk, and with rented beach chairs and an umbrella it was a little work. Overall I definitely recommend Seaside Retreat.

This is a great spot and it's walking distance to the beach. We were pleasantly surpised at how nice the condo was. I wouldn't say it's walking distance to town, but definitely a quick ride by car or bike. Another great thing was that the pool was right next to us.

Seaside Retreat is such a nice place to stay. Close to the pool and a quick walk to the beach. We love it so much it was our 3rd year to this place and looking forward to next year with a longer stay.

We enjoyed this condo. It is well located and is very comfortable. Not too far from anything that we needed or wanted to do.
