West VirginiaVery close to beach access & lots of extra's!
Left on 03/18/2013 for a stay in August 2012
We love the lower traffic Sunday-Sunday rentals & key-less entry (no need to stop at the realty office) that Outer Banks Blue offers.
We liked this home enough to book a 2nd year in a row. It's only one lot back from the beach access making the walk super easy for the grandparents & young children in our group. The open layout upstairs is very nice. We cooked each meal at the house and did miss having a gas grill. We purchased a charcoal grill at a local hardware store for less than you can rent a grill. The kitchen was very nicely stocked with household items to bake, fry, slow cook, griddle.. you name it! We found fold out tables/chairs in the upstairs master closet to use for a kid dinner/crafting table!
Pool was clean, private & large with plenty of poolside furniture. Lots of pool toys in the outdoor closet. There are two very private outdoor shower stalls to remove sand. The same closet contained wave boards, beach chairs, bikes and sand toys galore! The sunken hot tub was really neat and love that it was on the 2nd level deck overlooking the pool.
Our negatives were easily overlooked but included: stained carpeting (mostly an eye sore, home was very clean), lack of gas grill, lack of extra fridge, personal preference that there be more king sized beds. -

Vrginia BeachHurricane Week - August 22-27
Left on 09/28/2011 for a stay in August 2011
this is our 3rd time to Ruby's Treasure and everything was very nice as usual. We had to leave 3 days early due to Hurricane Irene which was disappointing. We love the love and location and have already booked same week for 2012. One note: the door locks on two of the sliding glass doors were broken and could not be locked - not a comforting feeling on vacation... Jason

Our first trip to the Outer Banks and found it to be all that I was told it would be. The house was great, spacious, clean, comfortable, great location to the beach and town. We all enjoyed the ocean, the pool, the hot tub, location to wonderful restaurants. The service provided was prompt and courteous. Absolutely no complaints. We know we will be back.

Our family, for the first time ever, went on vacation with our son-in-law's family. There were nine adults and a very young baby sharing a house, two (sometimes more!) women cooking and baking in the kitchen, and almost constant activity. Because of the size and layout (and the many amenities) of Ruby's Treasure, there was a lot of space for different groups to do different things, whether in and out to the beach, congregating at the pool, doing crafts at the dining table, playing with the baby, reading on one of the decks, napping and watching World Cup Soccer, working on computer. It's such a comfortable house, yet very attractive and well done. We all agree, this beach holiday was a special time and Ruby's Treasure helped to make it so.

Upstate NYReview of stay at Ruby's Treasure
Left on 10/22/2009 for a stay in September 2009
The service from Outer Banks Blue was excellent. The house was everything we expected, and was conveniently located near the beach.
Minor issues: several of the sliding screen doors were difficult to move, and tended to fall off the track. Presumably the salt air is hard on hardware, though.
Also, one or two towel racks and bathroom tissue holders were starting to pull out of the wall, primarily in the 1/2 bath upstairs.
Neither of these issues detracted from our enjoyment of the week in Duck.
Overall, our stay was very pleasant, and I'm sure we'll contact Outer Banks Blue the next time we come to that area.

Left on 10/10/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Outer Banks Blue made the entire rental process simple and efficient. They answered all my questions. The house was clean, inviting, and big. there is a deck on the 2nd and 3rd floor. We especially liked the 3rd floor deck. We could just see the beach and enjoy the morning and evening breezes. The pool was clean, although it would have been nice, this second week in September, if it would have been heated a bit. If you plan on outdoor grilling, bring your own grill, the one at the house is rusty and is a charcoal grill. We ate out nearly every meal, so it wasn't an issue for us. The beach volley ball court looked fine, but we didn't use it.

Not the cleanest (carpets!), nor the most up-to-date or high-end features, but an excellent location, close to beach; nice pool, decks, etc. I would stay here again.

Melrose, MAGreat accomodations. Great vacation!
Left on 07/24/2009 for a stay in July 2009
Stayed at Ruby's Treasure with my entire extended family (5 families, 15 people). Plenty of room for everyone in the 5 bedrooms (6 with the pull-out couch). No lines for bathrooms! Great open living space on the top floor. We loved the big round table for meals, games, etc. Hot tub and pool were a hit with kids and grownups. Location was perfect...short walk to the beautiful beach...easy back and forth if you forgot something. House is well stocked with bikes, kites, boogie boards, beach chairs, pool toys, sand toys. Inside, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking/serving meals to a large group. Top-notch accomodations!
Only negatives..could have used a bigger or second refrigerator - also refrigerator didn't get as cold as we'd like. Volleyball court was a little tough to use due to the bushes around it.
Overall, a wonderful vacation house. We'd definitely do it again!

ChicagoGreat location - yard needs work
Left on 06/03/2009 for a stay in May 2009
Pros: Our group of 8 enjoyed the house, especially the convenience to the beach. We appreciated that all four bedrooms we were using had bathrooms and the kitchen was stocked with all of the necessities. It even had a steamer pot for cooking live lobsters. Cons: The yard needs some TLC and the volleyball pit was unusable since it needs more sand. A gas grill is necessary for travelers and should be purchased for the home. The grill in the yard was small and we had to scrub it before we could even attempt to use it.

When we arrived in the middle of a raging storm, we thought we had made a mistake with the timing of weather for our stay. Luckily, for us the storm blew through and temperatures soared so we could take advantage of all the outside activites that were within walking distance of the house. We took bike rides, jogging, walking along the beach, kite flying, and just relaxing on the beach with beach chairs and umbrellas; all available in the storage area of the house. We were pleasantly surprised by all the extras. Plenty of room in the house for our gang of four adult couples and one evening we even accomodated three more adult guest with no problem. All the appliances worked flawlessly, like the idea of two coffee makers, nice touch. We'll definitely vacation again in Duck and hopefully again at Ruby's.

Just a short walk to the beach and located on a very quiet street. Plenty of room for all and well equipped. Keyless entry is an awesome idea!
