      Mostly lovely

Left on 09/10/2009 for a stay in August 2009

The house was clean, bright, and comfortable, and it came with everything we needed. While we were only a block from the beach, we would have preferred to be further from the trafficky main road. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub immensely, as well as the ocean nearby. We would have liked a few more pool noodles / beach chairs / umbrellas, but it was easy enough to purchase those nearby. We complained about the squeakiness of one of the beds -- the pyramid bunk -- and the maintenance person told us there was nothing we could do, so that was a shame to have guests unable to sleep well for a week. But the other beds were comfortable, and it was nice to have bathrooms right off of each bedroom.

      Ultimate Fantasy experience 2009

Left on 08/26/2009 for a stay in August 2009

We enjoyed the house very much. It is certain well decorated and very soundproof which was important being that close to the main highway.

Unfortunately I developed a rash from the chemicals in the hot tub. My doctor recommended that I ask what type are used before I utilize another one. Do you know what's used in that one?

The vendor for that particular property uses DiChlor (Chlorine) in that hot tub.

      Relaxation in NC

Left on 08/20/2009 for a stay in August 2009

Everything was very nice. The house was clean. The beach wasn't that far to
walk. The pool, volleyball court and putting green were a lot of fun. The
      location to town was great.

The only really bad thing about the house was the metal bunk beds. They
made noise every time someone rolled over and the mattresses were not the
most comfortable and made noise as well.

      Nice home

Left on 07/30/2009 for a stay in July 2009

We enjoyed our stay. The beach was an easy walk - a bit longer than we expected but not reallllly far. The interior was nice and comfortable. The beds were good. We did not use the bunk beds - they made too much noise when you moved around.
Very well stocked home and we did not need much. I would recommend a couple of things - You really should disclose that the home is right on the highway. Had we know this, we would have not chosen it. Out children are light sleepers and being right on top of the road did not help. It was quite loud. Also, an unbrella for the beach would have been nice. Finally, the outside could use a bit of a paint job to look nicer. We loved the pool & hot tub - verrrry nice. I know, sound like I am complaining. But believe me, I am not. We had a relaxing time and totally enjoyed ourselves. We will come back to duck, but would probably pick something off the road.

The perfect house for a group of eight!

Left on 07/12/2009 for a stay in June 2009

The house was beautifully decorated. The furniture was very comfortable. Each bedroom had extra pillows and/or blankets in the closets. The kitchen was very well equipped with extras such as a blender, crockpot, pasta cooker, several large skillets, BBQ tools, serving platters, big salad bowls and serving bowls, a large ceramic dish set, a large plastic dish set, glass tumlers, margaritta glasses, plastic drinking tumlers, etc. It pretty much had it all. The freezer has an automatic ice maker. The washer & dryer was fast & efficient. The pool is positioned on the west side of the house and has the sun all afternoon and evening. Lots of poolside furniture as well as deck furnitue on the upper deck. Very relaxing. Beautiful sunsets from upper deck, very short walk to the beach. The perfect location and a truly amazing experience. The little extras are a great big plus.

      2009 Outer Banks

Left on 07/08/2009 for a stay in July 2009

This is my 7th visit to the Outer Banks; Southern Shores/Duck area. The locals are friendly and neighborly, the weather is usually perfect and there's a lot to do and see. There is only one bad thing - traffic. Route 12 needs to be widened in the worst way, there needs to be another bridge north of Duck, and I64 on a weekend is a parking lot. Why in the world a hurricane evacuation route is only 2 lanes west and 2 lanes east is way beyond me. Very short-sited of Virginia and I'm a resident. If I could find a way to be dropped in via an airplane or helicopter, I'd be there every other weekend!

      Review

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in July 2008

This was a great house for families. Quick walk to the beach and wonderful views of the Sound from the wraparound deck. The location is a quick drive to the center of Duck (or a nice walk if you'd like) which is very convenient.

If there is any complaint it would be that the beds, comforters, and rugs, etc... could probably use some updating but that should not keep you away. Overall, we were very happy with the experience. Next time we will choose a home that is either directly on the beach or a bit closer, only because with kids and all of the "stuff" that needs to be brought to the beach it would be much easier to be a bit closer. Overall, great location, great views, great deck. Would definitely recommend it.

      wonderful

Left on 01/11/2009 for a stay in June 2008

We stayed here with our sons and Grandchildren and brother-in-law and his wife and had a wonderful time the house was big enough for all. The pool was really nice for the kids. It was about 5 blocks to the beach and with little ones for going back and fourth, a little far. That's the only complaint. We really loved the house and pool.
