We stayed here with our 2 13 year olds and my mother. The house is quite elegantly decorated with obvious care given to interior decoration and outside (backyard) landscaping. The pool is quite lovely. The house accommodated the five of us, but I think it would be cramped with more. The kitchen has many attractive serving dishes and although it is small, it is easy to work in. This is a house that people with older children or couples would enjoy renting. The beach is close and access is easy up a well-maintained staircase. Town of Duck is close as is shopping to the north.

My family stayed in the house with another two families. We had a good time there. The location is very convenient. The beach is within the walking distance. A water activity shop is just 5 minutes drive. The amenities are nice. Kids love the pool and go swimming every noon. We adults enjoyed the jacuzzi at night. But it would be nice if there is another king size bed on the upper level instead of a queen. Overall, the rental worked well for our stay.

This cottage is located in the community of Carolina Dunes in Duck, NC. Duck is a quiet community north of Kitty Hawk. There is no public access to beaches in Duck, so you must own/rent here to access the beach. This makes it a very family oriented, less crowded beach.
The cottage had four bedrooms and three baths. It had a number of amenities. (pool, hot tub, bikes, and table tennis) They add to the experience. However, the inside of the cottage is cramped. We were lucky the weather was good for our week.
The kitchen has little cabinet space--which leads to less kitchenware. The upstairs room opens to the living room downstairs via shutters. Therefore, this room can be very noisy and does not feel private. If you close the shutters to the room--the living room gets very hot and the upstairs room is frigid.
We have rented cottages in Carolina Dunes for 31 years. We love the area. We do not plan to go back to this cottage. OK--but, not the best.

House is located in Duck. Very short walk to Beach.
Yard was nicely landscaped. New pool and outside bar. House had open layout with many windows and several decks with seating. Kitchen was stocked with everything. House had beach chairs & bikes to use while on your vacation. We enjoyed this home and would consider renting next year.

The home itself was a decent place to stay. The pool was lovely - but not taken care of at all....we had to call a few times about it not being clean.
There were loose nails laying all over the place and I have a 3 year old daughter. Also, the fans in the bathroom did not work and we called about them and NEVER had anyone come to look at them. We even told them the one upstairs smelled hot.
I guess all in all, the home was ok...it was the maintenence and upkeep of the pool that we had trouble with.
