This ground floor cottage is located in the village of Drummuir in Scotland and can sleep four people in two bedrooms. Blackhall Cottage is a traditional detached cottage on the edge of the Moray village of Drummuir in Northern Scotland. The cottage has one double bedroom, one twin room and a shower room making it suitable for four people. Also in the cottage is a fitted kitchen and a sitting room with a dining area and a woodburning stove. Outside the cottage is off road parking for two cars and a patio with outdoor furniture. Set in glorious countryside, Blackhall Cottage is an ideal property for a rural retreat in Northern Scotland.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. The "Min. Per Night" prices quoted are based on the weekly rental price, they are not applicable for short breaks. See our short break policy or ask for further details.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  Heat: House heating regulation inadequate. The heat did not come on until 7:30 in the morning and it went off long before 10am - it never got the house warm enough for comfort. In the evening we had a similar situation. It came on around 3pm but then failed to continue warm the house. We had to wear all the clothes we had to stay warm and slept under our coats at night. We called the owner to ask if the heat could be turned on earlier as our party regularly gets up at 6am. The owner said that an engineer would have to be sent out to make any changes in the system and that the heat was scheduled to be on for 10 hours per day. It would take 3 days for the engineer to come out. If we wished to have more heat than they provided we would have to pay for the engineer and pay an additional fee for the extra heat. We were also told that if we were not happy we could have our money back and leave the cottage. We were not happy but said that we would try to live with the heating system provided.
  We also had a severe problem with the wood burning stove. The owner informed us that he had never used the stove but it was in perfect working order. He also stated that if the stove damaged the carpet he would 'wring our necks'. On our first night in the cottage we were so cold we decided to build a fire. However when we attempted to light the fire it wouldn't draw and the room slowly filled up with smoke even though the fire box was closed - the smoke wouldn't go up the chimney and there isn't any damper that we can find. The firebox door seal leaks and doesn't seal efficiently. We had to open the windows to clear the air - thereby making the house even colder.
  Despite these problems, we enjoyed the house. It was clean and well furnished. We appreciated the generosity of the wife in giving us 8 eggs from their chickens. We left the cottage after 3 days (we had a week rental) and had a small rebate from the owner. But it left a very bad taste in our mouths
