This three level retreat offers bedrooms and full baths on each floor along with a full kitchen, dining area and two living areas. It easily accomodates eight guests. Outdoors there is a large entertaining deck and three covered porches.

The upper level master suite features a king-sized bed and private bath with double vanities. For that romantic setting or private relaxation period, there is an airbath tub large enough to accomodate two. This bedroom offers expansive outdoor views as it opens to the living room from the balcony.

The main level includes a fully appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances - large refrige...rator, range, microwave oven, and dishwaser. The dining room flows to the living room where a cozy wood-burning fireplace and large satellite HDTV flat-screen is situated for easy viewing. If you prefer, take in the fresh mountain air by simply opening the double patio doors to the custom deck overlooking the river below. A master suite with queen-sized bed and full bath with aromatic steam shower is luxuriously appointed on this level also. For easy listening of your favorite tunes or a lively party, a custom built stereo system pipes music into the living area to surely please the most avid listener.

The natural beauty of the mountains is perhaps the greatest attraction. When you choose this retreat, worries evaporate, you relax, and reflect on what is really important.

You may opt to canoe the endless miles of trout and nature filled creeks and rivers or simply tube downstream all day. The closest body of water is Big Reed Island Creek located at the base of the property. Choose your own type of fishing day or hire a fishing guide for the "hot spots".

If picture taking is your past time by all means bring your camera. Put on a pot of coffee in the morning, kick back on the deck, and simply wait. You could encounter deer, wild turkey, raccoon, our resident groundhogs, bob-cats, and yes even the majestic black bear.

If you wish to venture out, you have 27 acres to roam. Avid hunters are also welcome. We will advise where we recommend deer hunting endeavors. If you plan on extended hunting trips we gladly welcome a "walk in the woods" before the season starts.

For the jogger or walker, if it is a workout you desire, simply walk or jog up the driveway! If you make it that far, there are miles of country roads with your own built in jogging trail right on the property. With over a mile of driveway on the property, you will soon learn that a few laps around the woods covered drive is very relaxing. A walk back down the driveway for your "cool down" and it's off to the aromatic steam shower! For the more adventurous joggers, simply take a left or right out of the driveway and wear yourself out! If fine wine and an excellent lunch or dinner are on your agenda, visit Chateau Morisette Vineyards. It is approximately thirty minutes away located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 171.5. The drive through the mountains is beautiful around dinner time.

  I stayed here last weekend, and had a fantastic time! The pictures do not do it justice! Very clean and upscale cabin, and an beautiful setting. It was a great getaway for us. Thanks Mark!
  One note: The road into the cabin is very steep. Make sure you arrive during daylight hours. A 4X4 vehicle is recommended.

  The road is not very steep. It just takes a day to get used to! We provide a 4x4 pick-up for your travel back and forth to Peace Lodge. No problems!

  My family has vacated quite often in the NC and Va mtn area. I have got to say that staying at Peace Lodge in Dugspur Va is the the greatest experience that we have had as far as a mountian get away is concerned. The home there is magnificent, you can tell there was great detail put into this house as it was built. The house was equipped with everything anyone would need. Awesome kitchen to cook in. Very clean, with awesome bathrooms also. What is any nicer than fixing a cup of coffee in the morning and walking out on the deck and seeing a mother deer with her two fawns walking in the nearby woods. There is also a river that you can see below the house, where you can tube down if the weather is warm...In my opinion...this is a great week or weekend get away for a couple or a family (which it will accommodate probably up to 8). We will go back to Peace Lodge for sure. The name says it all. Very peaceful, beautiful and quiet.

  This house is more beautiful than the pictures! Our family loved our Thanksgiving week at the Peace Lodge. All of our needs were met with superb luxury. The views are spectacular and the sound of the river was so soothing.
  Sleep was no problem in the great beds and cooking our Thanksgiving turkey on the grill was perfect.
  Mark answered all of our questions and the house is obviously a product of his hard work and dedication.
  Believe him when he says the drive is steep!!! Our small SUV made it but was scary and our daughter's Prius stayed at the top.
  The table was beautiful but we had to bring chairs from the lower level to seat our family.
  It sleeps 6 people extremely comfortably and 8 if using the trundles.
  We look forward to another trip to the Peace Lodge.
