Ottawa, CanadaAwesome OneRhythm, OneLove!
Left on 03/04/2013 for a stay in February 2013
We have just returned from a blissful week at One Rhythm and will treasure this vacation for years to come. The villa exceeded our expectations. Karen has done an incredible job with the furnishings and the artwork both inside the villa and in the gardens. From the paintings on the walls, the painted furniture, the sea shells decorating the garden beds, the carvings on one the roots of one of the trees...it is really a paradise. Karen's team: Annette (cook, housekeeper and personality of the house), Andrew (driver) and Sharon (back up cook/ housecleaner) made sure we were always comfortable, safe and well-fed. Now that I am back home, I may not need to eat for a few days as we were sooo well fed. Annette is an impressive and creative cook and will cater to all you whims. We focused a lot on fish/ seafood and mangoes - despite mangoes not being in season right now, Annette managed to get us half a dozen of the tastiest ones ever. Annette even showed up on the beach to warn me about swimming in an area that might have undertow! And did I mention the beach...so lovely and usually very quiet. My favorite pastime was to go to the fishermen's beach in the morning and watch the action as the catch was coming in (and they kindly allowed me to take pictures to my heart's content) and getting to know some of the locals: Nash, Tony (a real character) and so many others. If you go...I would recommend bringing small bottles of shampoo and soap to give away as tokens of appreciation. These kinds of goods seem to be highly prized. Also, make sure you know the address of the property before you fly to Jamaica...we had a bit of an issue with this when clearing customs as they seemed to want to know precisely where we were going (we didn't know as we were being picked up by andrew...)

Chris - forever in love with Jamaica
Bloomington, IndianaOnce Upon a Time
Left on 02/10/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Once upon a time, in the land far, far away, there was a kingdom known as One Rhythm. It was a place of exotic and wonderful flora and fauna and tastes and smells. It was a kingdom where peace, respect and love flourished. It was founded by Queen Karen of the Northland and managed by a shaman known by some as annette, and others as Christine, and a few others as Stan :) The citizens viewed the shaman as very wise, but some also believed she had magical powers. There were tales of her turning sand into bread and weeds into exotic and mesmerizing feasts. It was said that once you visited One Rhythm it was always with you from the first blink in the morning until the last blink at night. Those who never visited thought it must be a fairy tale. It is said the citizens and visitors to One Rhythm that they lived thereafter with pleasant days and pleasant nights. Thanks for the memories.
The foregoing was written by by husband on the last night of our stay. He read to annette Christine to her delight! I won't say what she said afterward but Vince received a grateful hug. We had an amazing vacation at One Rhythm and cherish every moment spent in the caring hands of Christine. We are most grateful to Karen for this beautiful home! This was a trip to paradise. And each day was filled with great memories. Thank you Karen! And Christine!

Anna Maria Island, FLVacation of a lifetime!!!

Thanks to One Rhythm Villa and the community of Duncan's Bay I had bar far one of the best vacation experiences of my life and honestly don't think it will ever be topped. First off, I visited there in February and although that may seem like a cold time of year...Not true in Jamaica. I wore a bathing suit everyday and was splashing and snorkling in the beautiful waters everyday as well. There's an amazing natural reef just a few yards off the beach at the end of our road and I never thought I'd live to say I snorkled alongside lion fish and giant brain coral. The fisherman's knowledge was amazing, as being a long time local fisher myself, it was eye-opening to see how much they caught with so little tools. Now, although this village is only a few streets big, there was plently to do and not much reason to leave, yet if you wanted to go anywhere, the taxi services were awesome. I also loved the fact that instead of tips and money, alot of the workers within the village perferred to show you their skills and trades and wow are these people talented. So much beauty in such a small place!!! Lastly, you can't forget about the "house mothas", I mean it was like having a personal butler at your service. The villas were always clean and fresh, windows open to receive the fresh air, homemade real jamaican cuisine, these woman deserve awards!!! I cant' wait to return and see my jamaican family because thats what they make you feel like while visiting. Thank you to One Rythym and the entire family community of Duncan's Bay, Jamaica. One love!!!

One Rhythm Villa... It has taken me so long to rate One Rhythm because honestly...there are no words to describe the beauty of the villa or Duncan's Bay. I'll be honest...there were torrential rains the night we arrived at the villa. And I don't think I really noticed the villa's beauty that night. The next morning...and every morning thereafter...as the sun peeked through the window slats...I was amazed by the sheer beauty of the villa. Every morning, I would wake, and rush to open the doors and flip the window slats, to enjoy that cool Caribbean breeze. We didn't go anywhere for most of our trip. But I was perfectly comfortable at the villa, chillaxin, watching a soldier crab scurry across the patio, or a giant bullfrog hop into the garden. And Jasmine's cooking was superb! I also want to thank the housekeeper, Jasmine, for spoiling me during my stay! You mean I didn't have to do my own laundry or cooking??? lol By 10am, the hosue and veranda were immaculate every morning of our stay. Sometimes, we didn't even know she was there, but Jasmine was always there when we needed her.
The villa
Karen has spared no expense with decorating. Each piece she selected, from the "Call of the Sea" plaque, to the seahorse statue, not to mention the handpainted coffee table, and the hand-painted dining room table & chair set, all added to the unique charm of One Rhythm. The intricate detail in the dining room table & chairs were, in itself, works of art! This place is amazing!! I find myself being transported back there all over again! So let me just wrap this up by saying...Hands-down, this is the best villa in Duncan's Bay. I've seen the other villas, but none of them compare to the pristine white villa on the corner, w/hammocks in the garden, sun playing off the mosaic-tiled veranda, where you can sit & watch hummingbirds gather sweet nectar from the flowers.(Wistful sigh) There is no other place like it in the world. Thank you, Karen and Thank you, One Rhythm...

Naples, FLThe best place to stay on the island!
Left on 10/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012
I've been going to Jamaica for 11 years and I have stayed in a lot of different places but by far One Rhythm Villa is the best place to stay. It has the beach a stones throw away and best yet the pure Jamaican atmosphere is all around. Having the beach so close makes for great night sleeps with the breeze and the sounds to make for a great night sleep. Will never stay anywhere else when I go to Jamaica. Thank you Karen!!

My family and I stayed at One Rhythm Villa in July of this year. We had never rented a home on vacation, always a resort or hotel. This was by far the most relaxing trip we had ever been on so far.
The housekeeper, Miss annette, well, she is great. She will watch over you like a mother the whole trip and make sure everything is taken care of. She is a fabulous cook, and a great person. We miss her! You'll also have 24/7 access to a driver andrew, he will take you anywhere you wish or get you anything you need. As the owner Karen will tell you, all of your needs will be taken care of. Thats a fact!
Now on to the property.
Karen's villa is just a few short steps and your on the beach. The beach is beautiful and there are never crowds. The villa is the nicest one in the neighborhood as I had the chance to visit several while I was there. The furnishings are beautiful and its like being at home, spotless and comfortable.
There isn't one thing I could honestly say that I didn't like.
I am so very thankful and grateful to have had the opportunity to experience such tranquility in such a beautiful place.
I hope to return again very soon. My favorite place to stay now in Jamaica, as I have been here several times and did resorts, not anymore, I found my home away from home. -

Built with an eye for elegant simpliciy. Perfectly compliments the natural beauty of the setting located on one of the most pristine beaches in Jamaica. Offers breathtaking views of the caribbean sea. Peace & privacy as well as adding to the quiet charm. Conveniently close to the sleepy fishing village of Duncan's Bay, this stunningly secluded and untouched location is perfect for romantic couples, adventure seeking individuals, busy executives looking for solitude. That is what attacted me to this beautiful cottage by the sea...Duncan's Bay remains unspoiled by crowds and pollution...a beautiful setting for sun bathing...magical sunsets and truly ideal location to sit and simply wonder at the glory of it all...The service was 5 star all the way...looking forward to my next visit...

We had a wonderful vacation at Karen's villa. Her staff were wonderful, the food was wonderful and Karen herself made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this location if you are looking to kickback, lay on the beach and just spend some wonderful time with friends.
