Description from the manager
This delightful, detached house is on the shoreline in a tiny hamlet at the end of a quiet lane leading to the Forth estuary. The extensive garden has a raised deck next to the shore, which enjoys beautiful views up and down the river. There are large lawned areas, garden furniture, a summer house, secure equipment storage and a vegetable garden where guests are welcome to harvest and enjoy the produce. The interior has been sympathetically modernised whilst retaining the character of the original building. The rooms are bright and well-appointed for a memorable holiday in a stunning location.
The house is adjacent to Torry Bay Nature R...Read more

WhitehavenPeaceful Place with a Stunning River View
Left on 04/28/2013 for a stay in April 2013
I wanted a holiday home that was near a river or had a sea-view. Black anchor was new to the rental market and I believe is great value for money. An exceptional holiday home with all the requirements thought of upfront. This was so refreshing and much appreciated. The house was unusual as the garden took up a large part of the property facing east. The Owners must love wildlife has a good supply of bird seed etc... was available to feed the various birds who loved to come into the garden from the nearby wood. It added to our enjoyment. We also liked looking out over the estuary when the tide was out spotting Eider ducks, Plovers, Redshanks and Curlews.
As a base close to a number of well known cities we visited Stirling, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh. We also drove the coastal route of the Forth Estuary finding lovely villages like Culross, Blackness, South Queensferry, Cramond, Burntisland, Abedour and Limekilns.
The location was quiet and a birdwatcher's paradise. Ideal for small children and dog walking.
