GlasgowWarm, comfortable and very cosy
Left on 02/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013
We spent a few days at Clover Cottage at the end of January. The weather was cold, uninviting and it was blowing a gale. However, it was like walking into our own wee home from home! Very high standard of accommodation and there was nothing that we wanted for. The small touches in the cottage made all the difference (including the welcome gifts) and the chat with the owner beforehand was really helpful. We had a great time so much so that we stayed an extra night! Would definitely return and hope for better weather!

Dorchester, United KingdomFantastic place to unwind.
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed at Toward Point for 2 weeks. The weather was quite kind allowing us to explore a beautiful area. The cottage was very clean, well appointed and very comfortable. A variety of books and board games were available along with freeview TV. The underfloor heating was glorious on the chillier mornings. The shortbread and wine on arrival was also a nice touch. The view from the conservatory was spectacular, overlooking the Clyde estuary towards the Isle of Bute and the mountains of arran in the background. Many an hour was spent watching the landscape change in the different light, along with the birds and seals on the rocky shore. If you want a pub nearby, night-life or crowds of people then this isn't the place for you, but if its peace, tranquillity and somewhere special to unwind away from a busy life then look no further, just pour yourself your favourite tipple (an Islay malt in my case) sit in the garden and enjoy.

Left on 07/17/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We were pleasantly surprised by the location & the comfortable property, which offered not only sunning views but a easy access to so many beauty spots.
Where can you walk out of a property & onto the rocks and watch seals along with your own working light house next door.
My only disappointment was going home at the end of the week. -

Our cottage was great. Beautiful view, we didn't miss anything. We have been lucky with the spring weather. Each day over 20 degrees. No rain. In the evening the seals in front of our cottage. Nice hikes around. Silent, peaceful. Missed a pub around the corner ;-)

BlackpoolA wonderful week relaxing and exploring the Cowal Peninsula.
Left on 05/26/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We were fortunate to have a week of good weather. We cycled up Loch Striven and saw red squirrels. When not out exploring the surrounding area we were fascinated to see all the naval activity on the Firth of Clyde from the comfort of the conservatory. We would recommend the cottage; the added touches of gifts of wine and shortbread were a bonus that helped to make our stay so enjoyable.

Worth a return visit.Only criticisms:-No kitchen linen(although owner did ask us to let her know if anything wrong-did not think it was worth bothering her).Kitchen hob not quite up to standard for a 5 star property-could not read the numbers on the knobs.Cleaning a little lax at skirting level, but generally very clean. However a super place to stay.A special touch was the wine, shortbread & flowers. We do hope to return.
A peaceful location,Excellent eating place a couple of miles away(except mon & tue & need to book a table).Great walking choices for all abilities.

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in September 2011
What a totally fantastic place to stay. The pictures on the website do no justice to what you can expect when you look out from the conservatory window.
the cottage is well equipped, well maintained and in the absolute perfect location.
I have already recommended it to many friends and are already thinking about rebooking for next year.
With seals popping up to greet you on the shore line, a golden eagle flying over head whilst playing golf, and a deer walking along side the car on the road to the cottage, it is a nature lovers paradise. Just the red squirrel was missing.
i dont want to be too positive as it will become more difficult to book the cottage again in the future!!! -

Left on 08/28/2011 for a stay in August 2011
I agree with all the positive words written about Clover Cottage, and to thank Fergus and Rosemary for their help, the owners are very quick to remedy a problem. It truly is a idylic retreat with a forever changing view from the lounge and conservatory, with boats, ships, cruise ships, sea life and the odd submarine passing by. This was our first visit to Scotland and even a rainy has its own beauty, why did we always head south ??...you can buy car ferry tickets from local shops as you pass through Greenock, sometimes it saves money.

Left on 07/27/2011 for a stay in July 2011
this cottage had the wow factor for us from the moment that we opened the front door.it is in a superb location with views of the firth of clyde from the lounge, kitchen and conservatory.on arrival it was very clean indeed with everything that you could need and also the very welcoming pack of wine and shortbread.the scene from the main windows was forever changing and we never tired of watching what was going on outside.the beds were probably the most comfortable that we have ever slept in.it was very very peaceful and relaxing and being able to see the three seals everyday was a wonder to behold.as we said in the title we fell in love with the cottage and the area and cannot wait until we are able to return

Left on 07/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We really enjoyed our stay here. Well equipped, comfy and warm. Views over the Firth of Clyde from the property are amazing. We loved being next door to lighthouse. Lovely walks nearby. Only downside for us was lack of a local shop but there is post office for essentials 2 miles away and very good Co-op and Morrisons in Dunoon. One of our favourite days out was a trip on the Waverley paddle steamer. There are lovely places to visit on short drives from Dunoon. We particularly enjoyed drive around Holy Loch and on to Loch Eke and also the drive to Tignabruaich with spectacular views.
Owner was vey helpful re direction etc. and also early check-in at 2.00 p.m. Would recommend for a peaceful, relaxing time. Local people are very friendly and helpful. -

Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Great location: next to the lighthouse, very quiet and the shore close by. When you're lucky you may even spot some seals (as we did). The view from the house is great: the lighthouse, the sea, birds and the passing boats (even a submarine).
The cottage itself is very comfortable and is very spacious for a two person cottage.
(Pub and shops are not in walking distance, but we knew that beforehand.)
We had a great time here!

We loved our trip to Toward point. The house was comfy and cosy and very well equiped. It was very well located for touring around. The location had some great views, and we loved seeing the seals on the rocks every morning and evening.
I would srongly recommend Clover Cottage for a relaxing holiday -

Left on 10/21/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The house is spacious and well equipped. Many cottages are. What makes Clover Cottage at Toward Point unique, is its location. Look over the Forth of Clyde from the closed veranda and see the colours of the sea, the coast and the sky change several times a day. Make beautiful walks in the hills. Visit Bute, Invereray and Oban if you like. After the trip your cottage will turn out the best place to be!

This was the first time me and my husband had stayed in the area and we loved it. It was great for privacy and peace and quiet and the views are lovely. The bungalow itself is very comfortable and clean and offers all that is needed for a self catering break.
We enjoyed our break so much that we are now looking forward to spending Xmas and New Year 2010 at Toward Point! -
