A lovely well equipped spacious cottage in a great location in E

The booking and personal attention to detail from Chris and the team at Best of Exmoor was excellent. The cottage was well equipped, welcoming and spacious. The location is great for visiting Exmoor or just walking in to and around Dunster and up to the castle. We loved the good sized rooms and the fact the bedrooms are downstairs. Its also a great place to play hide and seek ! The cottage has 3 good sized car parking spaces directly outside which is very convenient. The only minor point is it would be nice if the master bedroom had a king size bed, currently a double. The bedrooms were generously sized though and the bathrooms are very nicely done. We had a great holiday and would love to come back again.
Excellent accommodation in a beautiful and interesting setting

The accommodation was excellent, extremely clean and very welcoming. All of the rooms were spacious and very well furnished. The welcome of coffee, biscuits etc was much appreciated.Parking for 3 cars was certainly a big benefit for us.
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
The weather was not brilliant when we stayed but it was November! However we still managed to spend a few hours on the beach (we had our grandchildren with us who do not mind the wind and rain!) Also visited the castle, Porlock Weir and Lynmouth as well as Minehead.
We all really loved our stay at Grooms Cottage and didn't want to leave!
Wonderful for weekend get-away...

Excellent, comfortable property with good facilities. Well located for Tithe Barn and castle. Stairs may be a problem for the elderly and less mobile. Double beds - would have given five stars if the double beds had not been so small.
The best of town and country!

A perfect location right in the centre of Dunster with all it has to offer on your door step. Also perfect for exploring the north Somerset coast and Exmoor. The cottage had everything we needed and was very well equipped. With the Luttrell arms almost opposite we didn't have to go far for ameal out or a drink in their secret garden.
We had a very relaxing 3 day break in excellent accommodation.

Welcome goodies were much appreciated, and the spacious rooms which was great for 4 adults, freshly laid eggs from neighbours opposite and plenty of choice to eat in the evening. A treat to use independent shops and chat with the friendly owners. A most successful break for four friends who only meet once a year. It was not suitable for disabled visitors.

I really wanted to wax lyrical about this property, but in reality I came away with mixed feelings.
I booked the cottage as I was attending a family wedding at the Tithe Barn. It's perfectly located for that, just a quick walk up the lane. I needed room for my daughters & baby granddaughter, so this was the ideal place, and a travel cot was provided so that was really useful.
Location - perfect. Just round the corner from the Yarn Market & High Street, walking distance from anything you want in Dunster.
Parking - comes with it's own parking area, plenty big enough for 3 cars, and as it's proper hard standing suitable for motorbikes as well.
Space - it's a very roomy property, no compromises on space at all. Bedrooms are all plenty big enough, kitchen is good, lounge is big and comfy, and there's a big dining room as well.
Facilities - A couple of 'nice to haves' not in the property...a DVD player (I like to catch up on box sets when I'm away!)...and wi-fi - really useful in this day and age. The mobile strength in Dunster is pretty ropey, so no 3G to be able to go online without it. I really like to research where I'm visiting online so I can plan out my stay.
Comfort - I actually found the bed (or more accurately the bedding) uncomfortable, especially the pillows. Luckily I found snoozing on the sofa remarkably easy :-)
All in all though, a very nice property that didn't quite live up to expectations - but very close. Would I stay there again? Probably yes, if there was wi-fi and a DVD player :-)
