Description from the manager
This luxurious traditional ’Finnish’ log house is a peaceful oasis on the edge of the Pentland Hills. The lodge stands in a secluded one-acre garden backing onto meadows. Care is required with young children as there is a pond and stream. Large decking areas and a south-facing covered verandah with seating allow guests to enjoy al-fresco dining in tranquil, scenic surroundings. This unique lodge has lots of charm and character and is finished to a very high standard with a bright, stylish interior and attractive comfortable furnishings. There is ramp access for assisted wheelchair users or visitors with walking difficulties.

Nether Langwith, Notts.greater than expectations!
Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in January 2012
A short break booked at the last minute turned out to be a most enjoyable four days. The lodge was really beautiful set in gorgeous surroundings - just the place to sit back and relax. It was extremely well furnished and Hazel and alistair made us feel very welcome. We hope to be able to spend some more time there.

Left on 08/20/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had a truly memorable weekend at the lodge. The gardens surroundings and weather were absolutely phenomenal and really enhanced what had been a fantastic couple of days following the wedding of our great friends kimberley n ian.
The lodge is stunning the rooms are beautifully n tastefully decorated it has everything you need for a large group or family and we couldnt believe how lucky we were to secure it for th weekend.
We would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it to everyone it is a magical little place set in very enchanting and peaceful suroundings. The owners are absolutely lovely and brought us fresh home picked strawberries which were delicious and they very kindly lent us a french boules set which we wholly enjoyed using over the weekend.
All i all it was a tremendous experience and one which we would love to repeat annually. -

YorkThe perfect place for a peaceful getaway
Left on 05/10/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We had a lovely stay in this beautifully presented "log cabin" set in a large garden, which was great for our puppy. There are various outdoor activities (eg walking, mountain biking) and places to visit (Lanark, Peebles, Glasgow and Edinburgh) within half an hour to an hour's drive, but it was nice just to enjoy the peaceful surroundings in this unspoilt part of the world. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful getaway.

Left on 05/10/2011 for a stay in April 2011
With the advantage of lovely weather during our short stay, showing off the lodge to its best advantage, we were delighted by the superb rural setting, warm, friendly welcome, spaciousness, attractive and generous furnishings, good quality equipment, comfortable furniture and cosy beds. The only negative was that none of us fathomed how to obtain a steady flow of warm water through the shower so we resorted to having baths!

Excellent location, excellent hosts, couldn't do enough for me, yet left me to my own when I wished. The cottage was immaculate, warm, welcoming and cosy. The outside verandah a plus to sit of an evening and watch the view. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Dunsyre. My dogs were made most welcome also. I felt very comfortable at Dunsyre. I would return very happily again. Thank you
