Our corner unit, 2 level 1277sq ft condo is located at the base of Durango Mountain Ski Resort at Purgatory Mountain with views facing the Needles Mountains. We are a slope-side property, approximately a 3minute walk to the high-speed lifts (about 150M to the lifts), a 30 second walk to the lodge and pool, fitness and hot tub, and a minute walk to the Village.
The Durango Mountain Resort at Purgatory is an excellent location between Historic Durango and Silverton. We are approximate 30 minutes North of Historic Downtown Durango and 40 minutes south of Silverton. You can buy and pick up Durango-Silverton Railway tickets in advance, the catch the train at the Rockwood station 12 minutes drive from our condo. Many guests prefer this option as it saves an hour off the long train ride, eliminating the "flat" section.
DRO Durango Airport is our closest, approximately 1 hour from our home. ABQ airport is a 4 hr drive, we have flown into that airport and driven to Durango many times to save on ticket costs. Frontier airlines offers good rates into Durango.

The trip was planned for my 27th birthday. Everything was perfect and we had so much fun. The ski hill was just a short walk as were bars and excellent restaurants. We had a beautiful new kitchen we cooked in most nights. The neighbors were all very friendly. Also the Durango Mountain Resort was just across the street and we were able to use all the amenities, my massage was awesome.

We had two families with children ages between 5 and 9. We fell in love with the area and the East Rim condo. The owners had so many nice touches that made it so comfy. The lodge is so nice and convenient so we enjoyed the bungee/alpine slide and pool area. I would highly recommend this place and hope to return!

Everything was exactly as advertised. We have stayed in many places where the "pictures" hid the real truth. That was not the case here. We went out everyday on our motorcycle and a12 was the perfect place to come back to for rest and relaxation.
We had daily access to the fitness center, which was very important to us. Check-in was extremely easy. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about this experience. -

We recently stayed in a-12 and it was really more then I could have expected. It was very clean and decorated nice. It had everything we needed to make this an enjoyable trip. The location is awesome! Only about a 2-3 minute walk and you are on the lift. It was very nice and I would definitely stay here again.

Family of 4 stayed for a week.
Very wonderful to be in the mountains away from any cities. Accomodations worked well. Lots of comfortable private sleeping space. Kids loved the bunk beds. Impressively decorated. All resort activities were included for our use. You must see and use the pool the hot tub! -

We are travelers with very discriminating tastes and this condo met all of our requirements. The condo was well furnished and exquisitely decorated. All of the linens, towels, accessories and appliances were top notch, including beautiful silverware. The condo was a bit of a drive from Durango but a nice drive and it was nice to be on the mountain and away from the hustle and bustle in town. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Durango or recommend to friends.

This accommodation lived up to our expectation in every respect and more - you get what you pay for. There is definitely a quality, homey, caring and relaxing feel about the place with all the creature comforts of home, including the wifi. The only issue we had (a non-working light switch) was sorted the same day with no fuss. As advertized there was a well stocked gym, a pool and spa and tennis courts available, all close by. A nice touch was the free summary of the daily news from the resort reception. We wondered whether the waterfall being so close at night it may keep us awake but in reality you can't hear it with the windows shut. It wasn't intrusive even with the windows open, kinda relaxing actually and created a nice audio backdrop to the outdoors setting and magnificant views especially from the deck. Being 25 miles from either Durango or Silverton, dining choices can be a long way off if you do not want to cook in the well equipped kitchen (we did a bit of both eating in and out). Our visit was in the short window between winter and summer seasons so most of the on-site staff were taking their well earnt breaks and most of the shops and restaurant were closed apart from at the weekend, so disregard if you go at any other time. There are however two restaurants within a mile or so (The School House - rustic - and The Sows Ear - need to book). For recreation we were interested in horse riding and mountain biking. Horse riding was just across the highway (heading north about 1/4 mile) and mountain biking was well covered with an assortment of trails (Hermosa Creek Trail is a must do) and places to rent good bikes in Durango. All in all, at the end of our days activities it was always a tranquil place to return to and 'switch off'.

We stayed at this wonderful condo in Durango Colorado / Purgatory and had the best time! Our puppy dogs loved the area and location and could not get enough exercise!!
We would highly recommend this lovely home as the views were spectacular and the weather and location to hiking, fishing, skiing (winter) were simply ideal!

Thank you Both! We are grateful that guests continue to choose and enjoy our home. Every year we work to maintain and improve our corner condo, so that it will always be a lovely as the photos. New master curtains were added September, a new KitchenAid stainless tub dishwasher is on the way this week and bathroom goody boxes w/ Gilchrist & Soames "Sprout Out" & "Antica Farmacista" amenities are a new addition for ski season. Hearing that our guests are genuinely happy with their experience, is a favorite part of rental by owner.

This condo definitely exceeded our expectations! The moment we opened the door we were blown away with the amazing mountain views and the high quality furnishings of the home. Everything was really top notch -- from the furniture and accessories to the spa-inspired bathroom to the quality kitchen utensils. And speaking of the kitchen, I was thrilled to find that it was so well-appointed. We did some grocery shopping when we arrived in Durango so we could cook some of our meals, and that kitchen had every tool, pan, spice, and serving piece that I could possibly need. Also, I loved that there was plenty of sofa seating in the living room, even when hubby and our teenager lounged on the couches, there was still ample comfy seating for the rest of us. Overall, this condo is well cared for and very obviously loved by its owners. I'm a picky traveller, and this place is completely comfortable, very plush, and super easy to relax in. Doesn't feel like a rental at all -- rather more like a good friend's warm home that you've been invited to. Can't wait to go back!!

This ski/summer condo is truly amazing. It feels like you are staying in five star accommodations with gorgeous views, furniture, & decor. So much attention to detail has been made in making sure all of your needs are met, such as several appliances, multiple food serving sets, & plenty of bedding & towels. This is one beautiful & cozy place to enjoy Durango's beautiful scenery & slopeside skiing.

Beautiful condo, right next to the slopes! Sometimes pictures can be deceiving, but that was NOT the case here. This condo was beautifully decorated, well cared for, clean, and was everything it was promised to be. Even though it is pet-friendly, there was absolutely no sign of previous pet guests. I enjoyed everything about it, especially the fireplace. Owners communicated well and the transaction was very smooth. I can't wait to come back!

We have stayed in many different places in Durango over the years on ski vacation, but this is definately our favorite and plan to stay again and again. It's extremely cozy. The decor is a perfect setting for the snow/mountain atmosphere. The view of the mountains from the balcony is breathtaking.
I highly recommend this condo for those who appreciate great taste, comfort, and a place to feel like your at home. It's also very accessable to the slopes. The club house perks are extra special.

This condo was by far the most cozy vacation rental we have stayed in. We
were there for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is
literally at the base of the ski hill, but is on the outer edge of the hill so you
can see views of the mountains facing the opposite of the resort. There are
2 beautiful lakes (birds eye view) of the condo deck and creek of water that
flows outside of the cabin near the master bedroom. There were 360
degrees of amazing views surrounding us. It was great! We had family
visiting for a few days at a time during our stay. Our family members had
enough room and felt very comfortable during their stay. (Which was
important) We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and made our feast
there. They had everything we needed. We also enjoyed the artistic interior
design of the cabin and the rooms. Not only is the interior design modern
and rustic but The condo also has two patios (upstairs and downstairs). That
was great. Each morning we would get up and outside of the master
bedroom we would sit outside and have coffee. The upstairs patio has a
table and chairs outside, one day when it was warm enough we had
breakfast outside as well. I almost forgot to mention the jacuzzi on the
bottom level! Ahhh. The condo is 20 minutes to downtown Durango so we
would go intown each night for dinner and hit the grocery store (for
breakfast and lunch groceries for the next day). There is actaully a gourmet
supermarket 12 minutes from the resort called PJ's. We were impressed with
the quality of meats and fine wines and cheeses they had there too! So if
you are heading into town only for groceries, I'd stop there isntead of
heading all the way into downtown Durango. Some activites we took part in
were snow hikes on the mountain, intertubing, soaking in the Tremble Hot
Springs, the Resort ammenities (workout room and hot tub) and just
enjoying the condo. Great place to stay!
