If you have not been to Durango before, you are in for quite a treat. Our two bedroom sleeps 6 and backs up to the San Juan Mountains with great views of the San Juan’s and the Narrow Gauge Railroad from a shared deck between the bedrooms. Wave to the Engineer and passengers and get some great pictures. We decorated the unit in a cowboy motif which renters love. The great room looks out on the gazebo and tennis court with a back drop of Missionary Ridge Mountain. The condo was a great place for a family to stay to visit Durango and Silverton. We had the feeling of being away from it all, but we were still close to everything. I especially liked having the train go by right behind the condo.

My family has stayed in many condo and home rentals, but we have never had an experience like this one! The condo is stocked with all your basic needs and then some. The western theme is carried out each room. Take some time to admire the antiques and little knick-knacks. The owners, Jack and Linda, greeted us upon our arrival and gave us great ideas and advice on what we could do to make the most of our time in Durango. Listen to them! We did a guided backcountry 4x4 tour as suggested and were truly in awe at the beautiful scenery, Linda just happened to mention that the unit was open for an additional night. After our first 3 nights, we decided to take that extra night! it is in the perfect location and close enough to make a quick run to downtown Durango or up the million dollar highway to Purgatory, Silverton, and Ouray. We had such fun!

My family had a wonderful time on our trip to Durango and fully enjoyed our stay in this condo. The open floor plan allowed me to cook and serve meals while watching my little one and talking with my husband. The codo is decorated very well and has comfortable furniture making it more home-like. The kitchen was also equiped with everything you could need, even a cooler that we were able to use for a picnic. The bedrooms were very comfortable. My son absolutely loved being able to see the train from the deck. The selection of games and movies, including childrens' movies were a lifesaver for one particularly rainy day. The location is nice as it is about halfway between Durango and Purgatory so it was an easy drive to both places. Finally the owners are very knowledgeable and provided a lot of helpful advice on what to do and what services to use.
