      Good Location-Uncomfortable Beds

Left on 09/02/2011 for a stay in August 2011

The cabin was nice enough for a cabin and the deck was great for relaxing. The kitchen was supplied adequately and we appreciated the gas grill on the deck. There were major cobwebs at at the vaulted ceilings and had to do some cleaning of our own in downstairs bathroom before guests arrived but had very limited cleaning supplies. The wall of windows needed a major cleaning. All mattresses had seen better days and found it difficult to get a good nights sleep. This could be a real gem with more TLC. For the price, I think they could improve a few things. Their ads mention Electra Lake right down the dirt road but don't tell you that you have to pay $5 per person per day to even walk to it. If you fish their I guess it is a bargain but we were not there to fish. Also mention a pond not on but near the property, but obscured by trees and bushes at this time of year and didn't see any wildlife near it. It was an O.K. place but for the price we will find something else next time.

Great getaway with all the comforts of a home

Left on 08/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011

We loved this cabin. It was a great size, comfortable furniture and fully stocked with amenities. There is a binder with just about every diner, activity and shop you could think of (in the area). The view was nice and full of wildlife. We recommend this cabin as it sleeps 4-6 and is centrally located (between Durango and Silverton with all of the beauty in between). Recommend the owner leave an inventory list for guests. It can get a little hectic packing up your stuff while making sure to leave the cabin like you found it. Some things came up missing after we left that we didnt even know were there in the first place. All in all a great experience!

Double J Cabin was a excellent place to stay. Wonderful location, nice and quiet and a wonderful view. The cabin itself was great felt like home away from home. Will definitely stay here again.

      relaxation in the mountains

Left on 06/14/2011 for a stay in June 2011

everything about our stay was very pleasant except I would recommend that furniture be put out on the deck. There is a nice little pond and grass to look at but nowhere to sit or a table to put a drink on. We ended up going to the store and buying 2 chairs. Other than that everything was very nice.

      Family Vacation

Left on 01/21/2011 for a stay in December 2010

We really enjoyed the Double J cabin. The cabin is cozy and well equipped with anything you might need. We especially liked the back view of the cabin from the deck and the ease of getting to the Durango Mountain Resort for skiing.

      Double J cabin

Left on 03/04/2010 for a stay in February 2010

We stayed at the Double J, because of the proximity to Purgatory, and Durango. We had our two teenage boys with us and the cabin although small, was cozy and comfy.
We brought groceries and lots of things to cook, but unfortunately ended up having to buy baking pans and pots, because the kitchen was very poorly equipped. Rusty pans, limp silverware, and lots of broken bits and pieces of ?. We washed everything before we used it as all was gummy, and dirty.
The dark green carpet everywhere had dog hair from the last visitor and the whole place, although not filthy, just seemed a bit grimy. Nothing that a good cleaning couldn't handle.
It was a good location, and we had a good time, AFTER we cleaned.
