Looking for a unique location for a fantastic vacation? Look no further. The Jarvis Suites building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The facade is protected and any changes must be approved by the Historic Preservation Board. Built in 1890, the building was originally the "Gem Theatre" which brought the culture of moving picture shows to Durango. Locals were able to watch such actors as Rudolf Valentino, Mary Pickford, and other silent film stars. In 1984, the theatre was remodeled into the current building, the Jarvis Suites.
