Once owned by local author Dr. A. Power Davies, this Classic Maine vacation cottage is where another noted author, Thomas Wolfe, edited “Look Homeward Angel”. In the collection of his personal writings he mentions his stay here in Ocean Point in letters to his mother. Facing Negro Island (which many locals believe was part of the underground railway), The Haven faces southwest with spectacular view of the islands and the Atlantic as far as the eye can see. Maybe you too will be inspired by your stay.

And during Windjammer Days you will have one of the best views of the schooners as they enter and leave Linekin Bay where they will anchor overnight Monday. Watch them at play Monday night and Tuesday Morning as they get ready for the Windjammer Parade. parading! And that is not all. There are the birds; osprey, cormorants, eider ducks, terns and all manner of migratory and year round aquatic and shore birds. Plus the dolphins and seals that come in close and the whales that pass by farther out. The sunsets are particularly fantastic and if you are lucky enough to be here on the full moon, you will be so wowed! So bring your camera and bring your binoculars –you won’t want to miss a minute!

WHY BOOK WITH COTTAGE CONNECTION?
Vacation Rentals. Privately Owned. Professionally Managed. Trusted since 1993.
Cottage Connection was one of the first vacation rental companies in the Mid-coast region of Maine. Jeff and Audrey Miller, who own three vacation rental homes themselves had an aha moment when they realized they could not find anyone who ‘got it’ to manager their rentals for them. Since 1993 they have been trusted by homeowners and vacationers to “connect” each family with the perfect cottage for their vacation. As Audrey puts it; “The home they stay in becomes a personality, a part of their lore when a family connects with the right cottage. Whether they want a rustic cabin in the woods or a high-end ocean bungalow, the right setting sets the tone for the entire vacation.” Learn more about how Cottage Connection can help make your vacation perfect!

We have stayed at the Haven several times and always enjoyed our time there. Our grown children insist we stay there and we all love the privacy yet the ability to walk through Ocean Point and the beautiful scenery. The evening sunsets on the rocky coastal meeting point are second to none. We love The Haven and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
