Wow. Just Wow!
Left on 03/02/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The picture says it all. It truly is just steps from the beach and only because it is on the second floor. The view from the balcony is incredible; especially the sunrise. The location, East End, is pretty far from George Town and Seven Mile Beach activities. But if you want a true island experience, with a lot of peace and quiet, this is the place to stay. The actual suite is nothing to get excited about - there is a king bed and it is comfortable. The bathroom is adequate. I was expecting a kitchenette with a stove, but there's only a mini-fridge and microwave. The one thing that was inadequate was eating space. We had to eat hunched over the coffee table or move the TV to eat on the TV stand. There should be a small cafe' table in the room. Having said that, there was aC and a ceiling fan and a super balcony with seating and a million dollar view. The Reef resort is attached to the property and offers swimming pools, hot tubs, restaurants and activities. Check in and out was problem free. I did have to buy the internet access (us $40 for the week) because my reception was poor on the east end of the island. The beach is great for lounging and walking. We didn't really swim here - I don't think it's the best swimming beach. However, the snorkeling next door at Morritt's was outstanding. Just stay around the pier and you'll see huge Tarpin, lots of sea life and maybe even a sting ray - so cool! The reservation said housekeeping service once mid-week with reservations of 7 nights or more. We were there 7 nights, but didn't have housekeeping service. It would have been really helpful to have towels changed out and the load of sand we tracked in swept up mid-way through our stay. I would recommend staying here if you want a true island experience, are renting a car and want to really see the island.
