We had another amazing stay at this beachfront villa at Sapphire Beach.
The only negative part was having to leave and as one person we met on our vacation has said "life after Sapphire Beach seems just not fair!"
Lise, the owner was once again wonderful to rent from and we would love to rent this place again if we are fortunate enough.
The villa has 2 levels on the third and forth floor with two amazing balconies and beachfront views.
The villa is newly renovated and we noticed she had even updated the balcony tiles this year.
If you enjoy snorkeling like we do, there is a terrific coral reef to the right toward the point and to the left of the dive shop and out toward the house with mint green roof there are sea turtles, sting rays, spotted eagle rays and numerous conch. The marina is on site at Sapphire and we did do a day sail snorkel adventure and a trip over to St. John but found the best beach for snorkeling was Sapphire!
We loved the daily visits from the sea ducks ( they travel up and down the beach) and seeing the iguanas and mourning doves.
We rented a car for a day to explore some other places in St. Thomas and stock up on our groceries mid-stay.
We relied on taxis for going to Red Hook for dinner most nights and this worked well for just the two of us but would recommend renting a vehicle if you have more than two in your party or group since taxis charge per person.
The villa is modern and tastefully decorated and has everything you will need and more for a relaxing vacation with an incredible beachfront view.
We very much prefer this villa over any of the places we have stayed in the past including 5 star luxury hotels in the Caribbean.
Thanks Lise for renting your beautiful beachfront home to us again this year! We hope to return again soon!

I can't wait to return to this island resort. Lise was an excellent hostess from start to finish. It couldn't have been easier.
There was a convenient shuttle from the airport and taxis are outside the resort for any of transportation needs. The taxis were clean and the drivers were well informed.
You don't need a ride very often. Everything you need, from shopping to dining to entertainment, was a short walk into Red Hook.
The villa was clean, spacious, and up to date with modern appliances. Well equipped for any of your cooking needs. There was a of balcony overlooking the beach and the spectacular view.
The beach was clean, with sunny and shady areas. The Caribbean water was warm and crystal blue, just like the brochure.
There is swimming, snorkling, kayaking, paddle boards, and a variety of flotation devices provided by the resort.
The 2 tier pool was really refreshing at the end of a long day on the beach. It was an infinity pool on top and gave you a beautiful view of the neighboring islands.
For a night out, you can find lots of restaurants in Red Hook and Charlotte amalie. Specifically I recommend you stop by to see Gladys at her restaurant/bar/meeting place for the locals and travelers alike. She is an island treasure.

I always come back from Sapphire Beach relaxed and rejuvinated. The past year was so stressful I could not wait to get to St Thomas. The sound of the waves, the warm sun and the laid back lifestyle gave me the ability to wind down. The lovely decor and updated kitchen and baths make the stay enjoyable and we feel like we are at home.Thank you for another great vacation. See you next year!!

My husband and I stayed at Sapphire early March for 4 nights. The condo was perfect. The bedroom was amazing with its own patio overlooking Sapphire Beach. We rented kayaks, spent a lot of time snorkeling. Swam with a sea turtle right at Sapphire. The Banana Cabana is right next to our building and had delicious frozen drinks and some great sandwiches. We had great weather and went into Red Hook most evenings for dinner (quick cab ride). We can't wait to go back , next time with the kids, as there is plenty of room for the 4 of us. Great condo! Great location! Awesome views/beach!! Awesome time! We'll be back!!!

What a great time we had staying in this beautiful condo over the past week. The pictures on the websites don't do it justice.. I loved the newness and freshness and warm colors of everything... and these are not always a given, in our experience. And the view from the balconies is from a travel magazine! We felt so comfortable and well taken care of. Communication with the owner was flawless.

We have stayed at Sapphire Resort several times before, but this was the first time at Lise's condo. It was very spacious, clean, and well maintained. The photos are absolutely accurate (that really is the view from your balcony!). It's nice to have the unit on two floors, with a sitting room (with fold-out sofa), bathroom and kitchen on the lower floor, and the master bedroom and bath on the upper--so both sleeping areas have nice views of the beach and the water. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans and utensils if you prefer to cook rather than go out every night, but restaurants are nearby in Red Hook. The little touches she provides are great--sand pails and shovels for little kids, beach chairs, etc. We had a great time!

My stay was amazing. The villa was even better than I could have ever expected. The view was indescribable and the beach was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The pictures on this website don't do this paradise justice. Every morning I woke up and had my coffee on the balcony looking out to the ocean.
Lise was very helpful with booking our stay and was able to answer all of our questions.

My family stayed at Lise's villa at Sapphire beach for a week. It is a beautiful place that has been updated (I've stayed in other villas in Sapphire beach). We stopped at the food store before hand and grabbed some food so we could eat breakfast and lunch in the house and save some $. Everything about this trip was fantastic, the beach, the pool, the weather, the villa, and everything about St. Thomas. The only thing to keep in mind is that there are only 2 small places to eat within walking distance of the villa so you either need to rent a car or take a cab (easily accessible from the front desk).

The condo was in a perfect location for hanging out at the beach and beautiful coral reefs for some fantastic snorkeling.
It was a 2 min. drive into Red Hook for some good eating and the ferry to visit St. John, and the other islands. It was far enough away from Charolette so it wasn't crazy crowded everyday because of cruise ships. But only a 15 min. drive when we wanted to do some shopping there.
We plan on coming back soon. The owner Lise made us feel very welcome and was very helpful in answering any questions we had.

we stayed at this villa in november 2012 as a couple with our brother and sister in law. Villa was clean, modern, comfortable, and location was amazing! We awoke every morning to an unbelievable view of sapphire beach! everything we needed was in the villa including coolers to pack food/drinks for the beach. Lise , the owner, made our stay so easy and gave us several recommendations of where to go as it was our first time in St Thomas. I would rent from her in a heart beat again! Thank you for one of the best times we have ever had!

Our family of four had a great vacation at Sapphire Beach in St Thomas! In august we traveled with our two little girls (Ages 3 & 15 months) and had the best time! We loved the villa! We spent a lot of time in the room with children's' naps and early bedtimes, so in planning this vacation, we wanted not only a beautiful beach, but a nice room & view if possible. This villa had it all . . .
- Updated/clean/amazing villa with room for everyone to sleep comfortably (even a portable crib! in the room)
- Two level Villa, so kids could sleep upstairs while we watched tv downstairs or sat out on the balcony to enjoy the unbelievable view
- Full kitchen, which was perfect for meals
- Access to a gorgeous two-level pool right on the ocean with a shallow section that was perfect for the kids!
- Located on the best beach on the island with great views of St. John
- Convenient access to Red-Hook for dining & shopping
We could not have asked for a better vacation spot! Thanks for an amazing family vacation!!

We stayed at Sapphire Beach Resort (C-304) in May and cannot wait to return.
The condo was everything the website promised and more. The pictures are a very accurate depiction of the villa but no photos could really do justice to the spectacular views from the 2 balconies. The owner Lise, made the rental process painless - with her prompt responses to emails and questions.
The unit has everything you would need for cooking and has two full bathrooms, one on each level. There is a cooler and thermal jug available to take your snacks and drinks to the beach for the day. There are two flat screen Tv's in the condo although we actually never used them during the entire two weeks as we preferred the beautiful sound of the ocean and chose to keep the patio doors open with the screen and the aC turned off to listen to the surf.
We had a mid-stay cleaning and this worked wonderful for our needs but if you require daily housekeeping you can arrange to pay extra for this service. There is plenty of closet space and drawers in the master bedroom and the whole condo unit is quite modern and very tastefully decorated throughout.
Beach chairs and daily exchange of your beach towels are included with the rental.
We hired private roundtrip transport from a guy called Smitty who charges $120 round trip and gives you a private tour of some of the Island when you arrive and stops at a grocery store.
We loved the Beach and terrific snorkeling and enjoyed going out to see the sea turtles and exploring the active coral reef every day. In addition to turtles, we saw a spotted eagle ray, sting rays, barracuda, conch, and several species of fish. We did not use the pool much, as we prefer the ocean, but it does provide a spectacular view of St. John and BVI and we saw someone cleaning it daily.
We would highly recommend renting from Lise if you are looking for a well appointed condo with amazing views and if you enjoy a laid back vacation with quiet beach and peaceful surroundings!Response from Lise Mackey - 01/06/2013

This condo has been updated, and has a nice kitchen, wood floors, 2 new bathrooms, a great central aC system, 2 flat screen tv's,and two decks with awesome views.
Life moves at a slower pace in the Islands, you have to understand that any reviewer rambling on about "slow service" is an uptight tourist that is probably treating others with disrespect.We got to know some of the staff at the resort, and they are great people. Just treat people as you would like to be treated at your job!
If you have not been to St Thomas, check it out. You will not be disappointed!

This was our 2nd vacation at Lise Mackey's beach resort. The beachfront villa is fully equiped with all the comforts of home. My favorite part of day is the am on my Veranda looking out at that turqoise ocean and palm trees with my coffee. Sapphire beach has amazing snorkling right outside our door. Red Hook which is 5 minutes away had amazing resterants and grocery convenience stores. We went with the same couple 2 years and we can't wait to get back!The shopping is wonderful and is very convenient to hop on a ferry and tour other islands. Also many excursions are offerd at the resort. Parasailing was my favorite! I will definitely go back for a 3rd vacation!

This was probably the best vacation we have had. We stayed here with our two sons, 18 and 20 years old and they loved it! Sapphire Beach is absolutely beautiful. The snorkeling and reefs were fantastic. The location of this villa is perfect because it is close to Red Hook and the villa itself is centrally located on the beachfront. The villa is beautifully furnished and the views from the balcony are breathtaking. All that you could want are available - there are water sports, windsurfing, parasailing, and snorkeling, of course. Also, the villa has everything you need to have meals in if you so desire. Also enjoyed the convenience of having a cooler and beach chairs to take when visiting other beaches.
There are many restaurants within easy driving distance and Charlotte amalie isn't too far away. You also have the convenience of the ferry from Red Hook to St. John where you can visit the U.S. Virgin Islands National Park.
The owner Lise is available and responsive to any questions you might have. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to returning in the future.

The location looks exactly like the picture.. great view. Feels like home with full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a furnished patio off the living room and the bedroom upstairs. Relax on the beach (or the pool) or snorkel or dive (gear readily available for rent) in the clear waters teaming with fish, healthy coral, sea fans, and turtles in the sea grass. Very short taxi ride to Red Hook for shopping and ferry to St. Johns. Sapphire Grill is walking distance, burgers, beer and rum punch on site at "Banana Cabana".
The unit is on the 3rd floor and bedroom is upstairs.
Lots of friendly, informative people but be sure to ask Lise about Smitty for airport pickup. He lives on site and is a wealth of knowledge about the area. Very personable and helpful.

This was our second trip to Sapphire Beach and we just love it there!
The views from the condominium are spectacular in the day and the stars at night are amazing. We spent a lot of time soaking up the sun and reading on the beach, which was very relaxing. The rest of the time we went exploring, we loved visiting St. John, which is a short ferry ride from Red Hook.
We could find all we needed in Red Hook, great restaurants, entertainment and shopping and it's so close to Sapphire Beach.

This was our family's second time in three years to this condo at Sapphire Beach resort. This time was even better than the first if that's at all possible. The unit is clean and updated with everything anyone would need while on vacation. The owner is a pleasure to deal with. Great suggestions on things to do,places to see,restaurants to eat at and things not to waste time at.This trip we took a snorkeling trip with Fury Charters and had a fantastic half day swimming with the sea turtles and all the different fish not to mention the rum punch drinks. The actual views are better than the pictures show if that is possible.Great family vacation and will look to go back a third time.

I have stayed at this amazing villa three times, and each time I go it gets better and better! Not only are the owners very accomadating, but they really keep this villa updated beautifully which makes your stay that more enjoyable. Sapphire beach is no doubt the best beach on the island, and its perfect location puts it less than one mile from red hook (where all the bars/restaurants are). What I like most about vacationing here is the fact that you've got everything you need, so you really don't even have to leave the location. I love having the beach right outside the door as well as a beautiful oceanfront pool. Oh and I cant forget the little bar on the beach called the banana cabana...best bushwhackers and rum punch on the island! I highly reccomend this villa, and do so for all ages. I can guarantee you will not be dissapointed, and will not want to leave! I cant wait for my next stay here!

My fiancée and I stayed at Lise's Sapphire Beach condo from October 30 - November 7, 2011. We couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. The condo itself is comfortable and well decorated. It is literally right on the beach and has two patios that overlook the beautiful beach and small bay. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and some cookware.
The amenities that are included with the price consist of free beach chair rentals, snorkeling gear, and water rafts. With two reefs covered in beautiful fish, stingrays, and sea turtles, there was no shortage of things to see and do on the beach. The beach is absolutely beautiful and we stayed for two of the days just lounging, swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the drinks and food we ordered from staff who regularly walk the beach taking orders.
The area around Sapphire Beach will give you plenty to do. I would recommend renting a car for your stay, since it is much more convenient to get around. Otherwise, you can take a taxi truck, but I think having a car made the experience more enjoyable.
We did have a few issues during our stay. First, the staff in the front office were not particularly friendly. When I would go into to acquire fresh towels, it seemed like they viewed my request as an inconvenience. However, you very rarely interact with staff so it's not significantly off-putting. A second issue we had was probably just unfortunate timing. There was some construction work being done on one of the nearby units and we were awoken nearly every day very early to the sound of electric saws. I'd like to stress that none of these issues pertain to the unit itself, which we enjoyed very much.
We would give this unit a score of 9 out of 10, being one of the best places we have stayed while on vacation. If you want an outstanding trip to St. Thomas, look no further than this condo for your stay.

We had a wonderful stay. It's so nice to have pictures that truly show this lovely updated property. You will not regret choosing this unit. We really loved the Hugh master suite with it's own balcony. The beach is right there in front of the unit. We just loved the location, views, and comfort . Thank you. Also take the advise and use smitty. He is the best and we will be using him in Jan for our group of 24 arriving on a cruise ship.enjoy.

This villa was absolutely gorgeous!! Ive been to Sapphire Beach before and couldnt wait to get back again. Loved the condo, beach, people, everything!! Very clean, gorgeous views of the water and I loved the fact that the beach never got crowded unless there was a ship in port. Perfect getaway for our family! Very relaxing :-) Lise was very helpful and gave us all the info we needed for our trip. Very nice woman! Smitty was also great! He picked us up from the airport and waited while the rest of our group who was delayed. He took us food shopping and then helped us with our bags into the condo. He offered us help whenever we needed it. We will definately be back again!

Condo-Beautifully appointed, plenty of room, and the owner has everything that you need on hand. Our son (19yo) slept on the pullout on the first floor & hubby & I on the second. We never got in each others way, & it was nice having our own bathroom. There are 2 coolers, water chairs, & a football for the beach in the closet. We made up a big batch of blender drinks each day & brought them to the beach in the beverage cooler..great way to save $.
Beach: Beautiful beach...if you snorkel, the turtles are to the left (in front of the dive shop, out a bit, where the sea grass is) the fish are to the right, around the reef. We saw Eagle & Sting Rays, a squid family, and a myriad of fish! Get your towels from the front desk & check in at the dive shop for your chairs. This was causing alot of confusion with other guests, but its really simple. There are runners on the beach from Banana Cabana, Senor Pizza, & the other restaurant up the hill. Delish Frozen drinks from Banana...about $7 each but that is typical. We made sandwiches & hot dogs on the condo grill for lunch.
Location: I love the east end of St Thomas...not as congested, close to Red Hook & the St John Ferry. We also loved that Sapphire Marina is right there, easy for dive trips. We also took a BVI Day trip out of there, lots of fun.
Food: we cooked breakfast & made our lunches, one of the great advantages to having a condo. For dinner we stayed casual.. had Senor Pizza & wings 2 nights (delish!) & went into Red Hook the rest of the time. Really enjoyed Molly Malone's & Big Bambooz-tried Love Shack but-no breeze -it was just too hot. There were some really nice restaurants in Red Hook but since we had out son with us, we thought we would save them for the next trip.
We did not rent a car-alot of our activities were water based so we did the math & taxis worked better for us.

My family just stayed for 10 days at this beautiful condo. I did not want to go home! Owner's were great to work with and very responsive. We loved the beach chairs, floats, towels and snorkel equipment that were included in the cost. Beach access is great and the Marina is right across parking lot. The Banana Cabana will take your lunch order and deliver to you right on the beach, great frozen drinks too. I really enjoyed coffee in the mornings on the decks. We talked to a local person at Molly Malone's restaurant (who was one of the chef's from Robert's restaurant) who told us about Torcido Taco (located at the Pavilions and Pools right down to the right of Sapphire Beach, great Margarita's. This restaurant is kind of hidden, no sign we had to ask security guard where it was. Beautiful view of St. John at night from this restaurant, food is very good. Fish Tales restaurant right by the Ferry was very good too. The St. Thomas dairy was delicious, we went twice! We can't wait to go back and stay at this condo on Sapphire Beach!

It was my first time staying on St. Thomas. After riding around the island, sapphire beach was definitely the best beach on the island. We were there during the low season and it was like having your own private vacation spot. I really enjoyed this as I don't like crowds. The views from the condo were amazing (2 decks to enjoy the views). The condo was spacious. I would definitely recommend this condo and hope to come back for a future vacation.

The condo had plenty of room and was very comfortable. It has the best views you can get from the balconies. The furniture was nice with a good equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bead and fold out beads. We even made warm water lobster one evening. Loved the grill on the balconey. Very secure property with an awesome beach. Snorkeling is great with alot of coral and fish. We loved using the snorkel/chairs down at the dive shop on the beach. Had some trouble getting beach towels. They seemed to be out some of the time. Would have loved a washer/dryer, but that is being picky.

Absolutely one of the best family vacations and we've had many. The condo views are great. Very clean and close to Red Hook for any shopping needs. The help around the condo complex are very friendly and helpful regarding restaurants,siteseeing etc. Will definitely return when the schedule permits for my family of six. The owner also was a huge help in offering advise for the "Do's and Don'ts.
