Description from the manager

Looking for the perfect family villa, close to beaches, water sports, the St. John ferry dock, and child-friendly too? Azula Vista may be just the home for you! Built on three levels with a very large pool, this villa has lots of room for everyone. A garden walkway brings you into a semi-covered lanai, separating Azula Vista's two pavilions on the main level. The L-shaped lanai has a bar with mini-fridge and cushioned sofas and chairs set along the shady covered verandah, with graceful arches framing a picture-perfect view of nearby Secret Harbor Resort and Beach. One pavilion houses a living area with a cathedral ceiling, glass slider walls...Read more

The house was well appointed and worked well for our visit.

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in February 2013

The house was well laid out with three areas for our family. It worked well. The pool was well apart from the living areas which worked well. Our youngest grandchild could not swim so it was good for the pool to be one level down. There were several maintenance issues that will be mentioned later. - Allan O., Pennsylvania, USA

Our family had a relaxing vacation in a beautiful island home.

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in July 2012

Azula Vista was beautiful! We had seen the photos of the home, but until we actually walked in, we didn\'t know just how lovely and it was! It was decorated very tastefully with all the comforts of home! The open air decks and terraces were wonderful! We are a family of 5 with 2 teenagers and an 11 year old and they all had plenty of room to spread out and do their thing. We all loved the huge private pool, the nearby Secret Harbor Beach, and all the shops and restaurants in Red Hook which were only a couple of minutes away. We hope to come back to Azula Vista in the future and stay longer! - Julie V., Oregon, USA

Beautiful, breath taking, relaxing Azula Vista

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in May 2012

Azula Vista was a great place for our group of 8 (4 couples), to relax and enjoy all that the Caribbean and St. Thomas has to offer. The pool was spectaular, even thought the infinity edge wasn\'t working. We spent many, many hours swimming and just relaxing in and around the pool. The bedrooms are separated in such a way that everyone had all of the privacy that they wanted. Nicely appointed and air condintioned. The kitchen was beautiful and very well stocked with every dish and utensil that anyone would need. The washer and dryer looked like they were brand new and there was laundry detergent there for us to use. They were out of propane the night we wanted to use the grilll, but sent someone the next day to replace it. I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting a beautiful, relaxing, private villa to stay in while they are in ST. Thomas. - Cathy H., Washington, USA

My experience with the Luxury Retreat team was fantastic. Every aspect of the trip was handled very professionally , the difficult process of selecting a home was easy with the help and expertise of Ahmed. The concierge service provided by Sarah was wonderful and allowed us to maximize the enjoyment of our stay in St Thomas. Thanks to everyone and my highest praise goes out to your team. - Ronald F., Massachusetts, USA

      Great island getaway!

Left on 03/18/2013 for a stay in March 2013

My girlfriend and I took a trip down to St. Thomas in early March of 2013 and stayed at azula Vista through Mclaughlin anderson Luxury Villas. Obviously from the moment we arrived it was paradise...we're from TN, so to have 80 degree weather in early March was a blessing given that we left freezing cold behind.

The villa is very safe and secure...had a lovely private feeling. There was a gate with a keypad for entry in and out. The villa itself is outstanding! So much room, very clean, and an amazing view. A lot of times tripadvisor will have photoshop, edited pictures...this was definitely not the case here! The pool was gorgeous, overlooking the ocean and a large deck. We were close to a lot of restaurants/bars/shopping and also the Ferry to get to any of the other islands. So if you were planning to visit St John for a day or two, it was literally 5 minutes or less down the road. We were also super close to a beach that quickly became one of our favorite spots called Secret Harbour.

The villa had a large kitchen and family room. Every room had a television and cable, but the family room had a DVD player with tons of movies stocked to choose from! Also board games, free WiFi, and a book with all of the restaurant menus and things to do around the island. If there was anything we didn't have, it was just a phone call away. They had beach towels, extra sheets, pool floats, even a closet fun of sunscreen/aloe. The pool area had a bar/fridge for gathering around the pool! I can't stress how often my girlfriend and I enjoyed the top level balcony in the wooden swing seats they had overlooking the water! We usually stay out as often as possible on vacations, but the villa was so nice we actually wanted to spend time there together. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all very nice/spacious and comfortable...plenty of extra bedding, towels, and toiletries. The company has villas all over the island of different sizes, but we were quite happy with our pick and would return!

quick note - if you rent a car, we'd recommend getting an SUV especially if you plan on exploring at all...some of the roads would've been difficult in a little car!

      Awesome rental- beautiful views

Left on 01/02/2013 for a stay in December 2012

We just completed a wonderful stay at azula Vista. It's a 5-15 minute walk to the beach, depending on how fast you (and your children) go. It's less than a mile from the Red Hook ferry and all the restaurants, 5 minutes to the grocery store, and only about 30 minutes from Charlotte amalie. The setup is best for an extended family, or sets of family/friend groups. I'd definitely recommend it for anyone renting the entire villa- renting only a part would be a little awkward, given the shared common spaces. It's not handicapped accessible and there are lots of stairs everywhere. However, it's well-equipped with Dvds and board games, has great outdoor furniture and lounge spaces, an amazing (and pretty large) pool, and a very well equipped kitchen. The rental agents were helpful and responsive, making the stay more enjoyable. Come with lots of bug spray though- those mosquitoes are vicious!

      Terribly disappointing

Left on 10/12/2012 for a stay in April 2012

We stayed at azula Vista with our 18 year old triplets on the recommendation of Luxury Retreats International. After a lengthy discussion with the advisor, she recommended three rentals, and we opted for azula Vista because it had beach access and plenty of space. Upon arrival, we found that the poolside refrigerator was full of mold and had bottles of leftover beer in it. We expected the property manager to clean the fridge, but they never even attempted to do anything about it. Also, the poolside shower was not usable--the showerhead was broken off. Our view of the ocean was interupted by the sight of a rusty tractor trailer parked in the lot between the ocean and the rental property.
This rental may be better suited for people traveling with several couples or small families. Our teenage children's rooms were accessed from the outside of the building, so they were very uncomfortable, being alone in their rooms. This meant that when one was ready for bed, they all needed to leave our family game at the same time. Also, one of the "suites" had a very stale odor, maybe from the rusted out air conditining units. On the Wednesday of our stay, the television on the main floor stopped working. It took two days to have that repaired. St. Thomas has rolling power outtages, so we were without power on Friday morning (our last full day there), which meant we had no dishwasher, no water (the pump was actually broken, I think) I spent the last full day, dealing with no water. Our water was not fully restored until 9:45 pm. After many phone calls to Luxury Retreats, we were only offered a discount on a future stay, which didnt sound like a wise investment to us, after this terrible experience. I am fully convinced that the property owner is simply in the business of making money, and has no interest whatsoever of pleasing his customers. You can do better, don't stay here!
One more thing, I've noticed that this property has been unlisted and relisted. I'm wondering if the owner is trying to avoid the inevitable bad reviews?

Azula Vista The Villa more than lived up to the photographs.
It is obvious that a lot of time and effort has been spent making sure everything you could possibly need is provided.
It is in an ideal position for exploring the Island and the Bvis.
The view of Secret Harbour and small islands is wonderful.
Just a 5 minute walk and you on the beach which is clean and safe. Great snorkling.

      We highly recommend this villa.
