View was spectacular but service and upkeep were a real dissapoi

Left on 09/15/2012 for a stay in July 2012

The cottages are on the hill above the St. Mary Lodge and have a spectacular view of Lake St. Mary and the surrounding mountains. The cottage was generally nice but felt a little sterile. The condition and level of service were definitely not what you would expect for the price The fold out bed linens were dingy and full of holes and the bed had food in it. The bathroom had not been cleaned, the TV did not work and the wireless was useless. There were no coffee filters. We got some level of response from KOa who is the manager but I would generally rate it poor and ultimately rude. Pretty much the only thing really special was the view. Next time I will stay at Many Glacier...

Best place to base your visit to GNP

Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in August 2012

My husband are I are both originally from Montana (now live in Washington, DC) and have spent countless days in and around Glaicer Park. I, unfortunately, had never spent time on the East side of the park. My loss. And these cabins are, without hesitation, the most perfect place to base your visit to Glaicer. Located on the hill over looking St. Mary, the balconies provide a view of the peaks not available in any other accommodation. Spend your days hiking, exploring Many Glaicer, animal watching (we saw two grizzlies and a momma moose and her calf), take a tour on one of the historic wooden boats...then spend your evening relaxing, having a nice meal and pint of MT beer on the deck overlooking the lake and park. Stunning.

As an added bonus, having access to the KOa pool and playground was great for our young kids.

      Loved it

Left on 08/24/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We booked three nights in one of the Pinnacle Cottages. We were set to check out the first night to stay in Many Glacier Lodge. We loved it so much we cancelled our night in Many Glacier and added a night here.

Upon walking in the views just take your breath away. On top of that the cottages are clean, well furnished, and the service is great. When we checked in a worker from the KOa escorted us up to the cottage (we followed her car). We requested a pack n play for our son and they came and set it up for us. They even came out everyday and washed our dishes while we were out enjoying the park.

The location is perfect. The east side of Glacier park is by far prettier with better hiking than the west side (where more lodging is available). We were about 20 minutes to Many Glacier Vallley, about a mile to Going to the Sun Road, and Two Medicine and Waterton National Park in Canada were within an hour or less.

I can say that we were fully satisified. But I must add a couple of problems we encountered that didn't really detract from our stay. We were in cottage 1 which is on the far end. It has the best view and privacy with no cottage looking over it and none in front of it. However, we didn't get good wireless internet signal. No problem we were there for the internet and if we went out side or stood in certain areas we would get it to work.

The second issue was that the one time we tried to turn the air conditioning on, we couldn't get it to come on. But we didn't really need it with the huge windows and nice breeze, plus it does get cold at night and the heat worked well.

One suggestion I would have for the owners is to add a washer and dryer. I saw a place for them, but we had to go down to the KOa to do our laundry.

Lastly, we didn't pay the advertised rate. We would have never been able to afford that. We booked through the East Glacier/St Mary KOa website and I think we lucked into an offseason rate that was being offered in peak season unintentionally. Right after we booked the rate nearly doubled.

I would love to go back as this was a strange year for snow pack and some of the trails we wanted to hike were not accessible even in the second week of July. But the hikes we did were breathtaking. We hiked 35 miles with our 15 month old in a baby carrier. Saw lots of other families doing the same.

Amazing views - can't wait to go again!

Left on 07/28/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We have been wanting to hike in Glacier National Park for several years and finally booked a stay. A friend recommended the Pinnacle Cottages and we were not disappointed. The views out the back porches are just indescribably beautiful. With two bedrooms, nice bathroom with the sink separate from the toilet and shower, full kitchen and even a fireplace - this is luxury in the middle of no-where. Just down the hill from the cottages is souvenir shopping and great local dining. We had 8 in our hiking group with 4 in each cottage. We spent a lot of time in each others cottages and the living room and porches were more than big enough to accommodate everyone. The full kitchen made it easy to prepare breakfast but we also enjoyed dinner at the Park Cafe. And then of course was the hiking in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Can't wait to go back!
